Give it up, Mika. You can stop digging now.

By the way... if Palintwit represents what a "real American" is, then I'll gladly accept classification as an "artificial American".

I honestly don't understand what she's saying. My guess is that she thinks middle America is kind of simple-minded and that she's electing to use the word "real" in place of "simple".

I think she meant it the same way Simple Sarah used it on the Campaign Trail, when she said she was glad to be back in "Real America".

"Real American", in Troglodytese means White Christian Conservative Lower/Middle Class. Mika can dance around it all she wants, but I think she stepped in it and was shocked when the "unreal Americans" objected.

Of course that's what she means.

Her universe extends from NYC to DC ("the Amtrak corridor," as it was described on Morning Joe today), and anything outside of that travel route is a wilderness filled with Deliverance extras.

I understand, Mika. You're saying that the 'real America' that you wish for is one in which Sarah Palin's conservative views speak to a majority of Americans. What you don't understand is that you live in a country that is left-center, not right-center, and you are not smart enough or honest enough to admit that you made a mistake about this.

Mika, I do understand what you are saying, the question is, do you understand what you are saying? I agree that the extremist, murderous, nutjobs are not really representative of the majority of conservatives. I also agree that political discourse has become shrill and uncivil and that should change. And, I further agree that real Americans aren't given enough representation by the ruling elite of Washington and Wall Street. However, it seems to me that you are saying that if you come from a Conservative, lower class background, as I do, and if you work and borrow money to go to a state college, as I did, and you travel extensively and live in foreign country, as I did, and you happen to be a liberal and bookish, as I am, then, you aren't a real American. In fact, people like me, are out of touch elitists, while you, the pampered child of a Washington insider with an enormous salary and a job on TV, are better able to understand and speak for real Americans than I am. What was that...Please!

If you're worried that we might not be able to attain the intellectual level necessary to understand what you're saying, believe me - we've stooped even lower to achieve comprehension of some of your colleagues.

An example, Joe? We also understand that when you say
"Can't we just block everybody from sending e-mail this morning?"

you're metaphorically putting your fingers in your ears and going "la la la la..."

She's playing the Sarah Palin card. Making flippant comments that alienate and anger a lot of people, then not handling the backlash and criticism and blaming it on everyone else... not accepting and admitting the fact that her own narrow-mindedness and lack of forethought got her into the mess in the first place.
I must say, she is doing a FINE job!

I live near the shoreline of Connecticut. Like most Americans, I'm not all that easily classified. I'm a reliable Democratic vote, but I hunt and fish and support the 2nd Amendment as vigorously as I support universal health care with a public plan and taking aggressive steps to reach energy independence through cap and trade.

My question for you, Mika, is where do I go to get my "Fake American" passport? I'm traveling to Wisconsin later this year to pick up a new Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy, and I want to have my "fake" documentation. Another thing, Mika, where can I expect the border crossing stations into "Real America"?

Mika's mindset was bleated during a conversation between Laura Ingraham and Jim DeMint (Moron-SC) yesterday:

Ingraham: "You know, real Americans out there, they are just so hungry for Conservative leadership..."

DeMint: "...and we don't have the votes right now to give it to them."

Ingraham: "...and they are getting really frustrated about it..."

Yes, "Real Americans" are so frustrated by the fact that Conservatives are not in charge, and never you mind that we just had an election last November where Real Americans were given the opportunity to pick the Government they wanted. Whatever. Go on pretending that "Real" Americans want people like Palin and DeMint to run things, regardless of election results. And get your excuses ready for 2010.

I think it highlights perfectly how the media personalities act when questioned and or critized about their reporting or lack of. Look at the virtual blackout of the big three cable networks of the fact they allowed Pentagon apologist masquerade themselves as objective military analyst in the run up to the Iraq war. Not a word has been uttered about on CNN,MSNBC, or Faux! They become very defensive and circle the wagons if you critize their reporting in the lead up to Iraq! They refuse to answer or be held responsible for their failure to be responsible reporters, then laugh at us, the unsophisticants. It's like they flip us off! This week with Mika and her response to this "Real America" crap highlights what is wrong with the so-called liberal MSM and it's pundocracy!

Well, I'm from an area that Mika would call "real America" and our local newspaper ran a poll the day after Palin's speech . . . the question was "would you vote for Palin for president"? I think the margin was something like 75-25 . . . the nays won.

What these folks are defining as conservative values are NOT. And, as I said on another thread, I know just as many conservative Democrats as conservative Republicans. Party is irrelevant.

Real American women and feminists applaud working moms. Mika is wrong about women not connected to Palin 'cause she's a woman who has 5 kids. Women can't connect to Palin because she is a fraud. She is UNDEReducated. Why hasn't anyone on Morning Joe talk about Ms. Palin's lack of intelligence? Mika should admit that Palin's good looks have opened up many doors, as they do beautiful women all over the world. We all know this to be true, as does Mika. It was the fact that what she said, as also stated by Palin, that alienates a lot of people. Saying that someone is artificial or not authentic in their citizenship or pride in their country simply because they disagree with her views is outrageous. This is not a discussion of sweeteners, whether those that don't agree with Palin are the SweetNLows and Splendas of America, but it's your preference for what you put in your coffee. It's saying that a lot of Americans aren't genuine because of what they stand for politically.

And this whole backpedaling those like Mika do after they say something stupid... no one can be PC 100% of the time, there's always going to be someone that's bothered by what is said. It's the sweeping generalizations and applying terms like "real Americans" that are offensive and ignorant.
