      So... if the president goes public with actual proof that Fox-Noise or Rush or this little brainless twit Tammy Bruce lied or distorted about an issue of national security importance to the people or invited near treasonous guests to spew out that the USA can only be saved if bin Laden attacks America with a big nasty bomb, like Beck did... would she still be saying this stupidity with such ease?

      So she thinks the Times should be punished. What about Rove, Cheney, Libby? How is the Prez going to punish the NY Times for publishing the name of a CIA agent when it was the White House who leaked it?

      That would be something that republicans would do. Like how they voted to show anger, or something like that, against Moveon.org for their "Betray-us" advertisement that was taken out.

      I swear. These yahoos all cry and whine about "freedom of speech", of course, only when it directly agrees with their thought processes, and or opinions.

      NY Times, if she's talking about the wiretapping story, held onto that one for longer than a year, as in, well after the 2004 election.

      If the right keeps with this attitude, then Fox will be the only one covering the Republicans... which is fine with me.

      So when the white house leaks classified information about CIA operatives to the New York Times, it's the New York Times that should be punished??? And not Scooter Libby?

      Yeah, let's punish the press, good policy!

          You make no sense. Are you claiming it is only physically possible for ONE person to leak information? Libbys lawyer ADMITTED he leaked this information to a reporter. Try to keep up.

            Here is the best link on Tricky Dick. As they explain he was "an inveterate gossip" who got a little mouthy with Novak. The dirty little secret in this is everyone in the inner circle of the beltway knew what the Plame's were doing because they were social climbers and ran around the party scene of DC where there were many "whispers" of who they worked for.

        Isn't the rightwing a fascination? No one could have ever predicted that these people would be as nutty as they have become. And more fascinating is that people follow them.

        For example, the roundtable discussion at work today...people were defending Palin because she was a lame-duck governor. I directed them to the comments made by Gov. Rendell of Pa. who said that she could run again, therefore, she could do her job for the next year and then decide to not run. They said Rendell was lying even though he is not.

      So Bruce thinks that the NYT should be punished for giving up state secrets. So by her logic, then bush and cheney should be punished for revealing that Valerie Plane was a CIA opperative.
      If anyone needs to be punished its bush/cheney. These two treasonist bastards lied to the American public to go fight a war that was unnecessary. Bush was going to war with Iraq(before he was even elected) so he could finish daddy`s fckup. Thats why bush/cheney approved torture. Bush would have tortured Laura if he knew she could give him a legitimate reason to go to war. Bush/cheney should be held accountable for their war crimes and crimes against humanity. If they get what Sadamm hussien got, then justice will be served. They should also be grateful that they would be tried in the US where they would get a fair trial with a highly paid defense team.
