Ah. So now that it looks like Pelosi might be right, everyone's stupid for bringing it up.

This is like listening to two seven year olds arguing:

      "It's red."
      "No, it's BLUE."
      "No...it's red - see?"
      "Oh. Well... you're stupid."

How many years after-the-fact were the GOP still "refighting issues" from the Clinton administration? I think it's eight and counting.

That's no surprise. They're still wowed by how awesome Ronald Reagan was as a president.

It was his best acting job, yet.

Well, not that he was good at it, just that it was the best job he every had as an actor.

I'll go one better and raise you the Carter administration and all the horrible bad things that his White house did to ruin the world...

And then I'll raise again that it was Ronnie Ray-Gun & Junior that saved the day...

Just a few months ago the reich-wingers and MSM were screeching that Pelosi should resign. I wonder how they are enjoying their crow? Don't expect any apologies directed towards the Madam Speaker though.

This is a tried-and-true tactic for the Reich: smear your opponents with the 'oh, that happened long ago, let's move on' line when the facts start to become uncomfortably hot for the Reich. We witnessed the same thing with the Iraq war when it turned out Iraq was not complicit in 9-11.

      Typical Reichwing garbage.

Exactly. They don't allow questioning when it's about to happen because that's giving away government secrets and is treason. They don't allow questioning during it because thats unpatriotic to not support the president. And now its done, they don't want to "waste time" determining if it was legal to begin with. Yet these are the same clowns who claim we need to learn from our mistakes. They can't learn anything from "oh well, don't know what happened, don't care to look either".

Wasn't it just a month or two ago that the Reps were calling for Pelosi to resign because she may have been briefed on enhanced interogation techniques by the CIA? Did Cressy call that "stupid?"

Unfortunately, the Media have swallowed this line of thinking in regard to the Iraq War. There doesn't seem to be even a handful of "journalists" willing to discuss how we got dragged into that foolish waste of lives and resources. The Democrats in Congress seem willing to forget about it altogether. It's tragic.

His only concern is reliable intelligence about what's going on in the world? Well, the CIA's track record on that is pretty shoddy, to be truthful. From reports of 'massive' Soviet bomber fleets in the 1950s to Iraq's fabled WMDs and al Qaeda links to torturing for political gain, there are times when our overseas intelligence community seems to be in a shambles. To top it off, they lie to Congress about what they're doing. Why exactly are the conservatives so adamant about defending this agency?

If defending the CIA were a top Republican goal, if the agency is that important to them, then why weren't they calling for an investigation into Valerie Plame's outing?

Every time the Democratic Party goes after The CIA the American People goes to the Right so its not a good idea to do that. As an Independent the Dems should just shut up because they will lose this battle.

The Democrats will continue to lose these Political Food Fights until they learn to counter Republican Propaganda Machine. The Repugs mastered the art of manipulating public opinion during the Clinton Administration, and have honed it to a science. They lie easily and often.

so, your saying we should ignore the bad intel on everything from WMD to Osama/saddam links to secret coups all over the world because it's a political loser for the left? funny, i would think that the TRUTH would be a political winner. maybe if congress did it's job and did some real investigation they might just find that the CIA has really done very little positive for this country and have spent the last 50 years or so trying to make us the new and improved roman empire. if not for their incompetence we would probably not be in either Iraq or Afganistan. neither country attacked us. we were attacked by 19 Saudis led by a religious zealot that has no one place he calls home. maybe if not for bad intel we would have the trillion dollars or so we have spend on useless wars crated to make a few small d1cked men feel big and important. maybe we would not have put our own troops in danger by setting the example that torture is ok as long as you call it something else. EVERYONE (republicans and democrats) that was involed in the disaster of the last 8 years needs to be called out so that we never make these mistakes again. it's time to stop burying our head in the sand and thinking that everything we do is our right because of american exceptionalism.

ok, sorry, i'm done. just needed to vent

With the money we've wasted in Iraq, we could have easily financed the "Public Option" that seems to frighten the Republicans so much.

I agree that everyone involved needs to be held accountable for Iraq, regardless of Party. I just don't think Congress or the Press have the stomach for it.

Just today on Morning Joe, one of the pundits said that "The American People" have no interest in rehashing what happened between 2001 and 2003. I disagree. I think it's the nattering nabobs in the Press who have no interest in it.

Ill raise it to 1970 when the CRA(Community Reinvestment Act). According to the GOP this was the downfall of our economy. Then I'll up it to Lydon B. Johnson. The GOP is still demoninizing the civil rights movenment and minorities for actually demanding equal representation and the right to vote.

Well, if you were planning on robbing the bank on Friday, it's only prudent to spend Monday through Thursday encouraging everyone you can find to deposit money there. That way, you can walk out with a little more jingle in your pocket.

The more interesting point is, why isn't the press talking about that. "Gee, it sure turned out to be a good thing that Social Security wasn't privatized after what happened to the markets, Bob." "Yep, that's sure right, Bill, even though those who stopped it were roundly criticized for doing so at the time. Guess we owe them an apology, huh?"

These issues that are being addressed is a matter of fact, constitutional integrity and lends to the idea of legitimacy. They should have accountability, You and I know it, and now if not later. THis statement is made because it would expose abuses and unbalanced behavior is ethics and truth. THe people are asking if you are autonomous or if you feel they are more than cave men and women. Is your supreme intellect more than the peasants or do you feel America is to the Americans and you respect them at the table. THis is the question, now answer it!

Its amazing that whenever you prove that the GOP is wrong about something that happened years ago, they either say that you're stupid for bringing up old issues or say something like "What is this a history lesson?" and then jump back into their talking points.
