Kristol: "I'm not sure the administration really wants another public debate between President Obama and Vice President Cheney."

Every time Cheney opens his mouth he digs himself a deeper hole. I'd love for him to pull a Palin, and just keep talking until he buries himself so deep that he can't get out.

That and Cheney trots himself out. Most of us kinda wish he'd just stop talking, actually.

Of course I don't actually enjoy hearing from Cheney, but his ego will be his downfall. The more he boasts about his administration's lawlessness, the more difficult it will be for everyone to remain blind to it.

That is a good point. It seems like whenever he opens his mouth, a few more people rethink what they knew to be true about national security and ethics.

That's assuming any right-winger is capable of allowing the truth to crack through his/her thick skull... you may be giving many of them to much credit?

The image of Cheney as a whipping boy is too good too ignore, because if there is one person who deserves a good whippin' it's him.

"thinking Dems "just trot[ted] out" "whipping boy" Cheney"

For months Cheney has been making the rounds, doing the GOP's dirty work. Now he's taking heat for his actions and suddenly it's the Democrats who are "trotting him out"?

Anything that makes Republicans look bad is always the Democrats' fault. Cheney caught lying? The Democrats "trotted him out." Sanford went to Argentina on the taxpayers' dime, cheating on his wife, leaving his state without a governor? Obama's fault. Nothing is ever a Republican's "fault;" the party of personal responsibility doesn't have any.

There has been no debate between President Obama and Vice President Cheney because they do not form part of the same administration. It was -former- Vice President Cheney, thank heavens, and it was not a debate. It was two separate televised speeches. Cheney hasn't had time for debate. He's too busy going on every TV and radio show that will have him as guest, explaining in greater and greater detail why he and his boss should have been impeached.
