      I'm not quite sure why this is an issue. I even think it sounds weird just because it took so gosh darn long to happen.

      Yeah, I does feel a bit wierd...

      But it sure feels GOOD!

      And this isn't exactly a breaking story anymore, so GET USED TO IT!!!

        That was pretty weird.

        But yeah, saying "Senator Al Franken" does seem a bit weird, and as others have said, it also feels pretty good to me as well. Always respected Franken.

        Heck, six years in I am still not used to saying "Governor Schwarzenegger". Normally I'm really against stereotypes but the one about Californians being superficial and star-struck seems to have something to it.

          Norah is just so comely she's one of the few I'd audition to be Mary Matalin to my James Carville.

            Wow! I'd never have thought to put her in juxtaposition to La Matalin. Mary can't open her mouth more than a centimeter, and Norah's smile goes from the East River to the Hudson. I also wouldn't have guessed you to have the Ragin' Cajun as a role model, cher.

      Senator Franken did well in his opening remarks. He will do a fine job and Norah will become very comfortable with the title, I suspect.

      I don't understand this whole Al Franken thing. We elected two actors for California governor, one which went on to the White House. We had a wrestler elected governor of Minnesota, an astronaut to the senate, a football player to congress.

      Why the fuss of a SNL star, who happened to graduate from Harvard?

      what is it, all of a sudden its hard to imagine a former comedian becoming a politician? im sure there have been people in politics past and present that have had stranger past professions. besides, franken graduated from harvard for pete's sake, and he still cant get accepted because he was on SNL. the bigotry is ridiculous.

        I think it has to do mostly with Franken being a liberal who calls out the MSM hypocrisy and is witty about it. These fluffy hairdo drones are scared of real personality and wit because all their ambition to be at the top can't manufacture that.

      How old is Norah O'Donnell and what does she do for the network? It feels even weirder for me to address what I see on television as news. Why not just get one of those watches hypnotists use, look into the camera, and say "Republicans good, Democrats bad."

        Al went to Harvard. People that go to Harvard know how to separate sentences with periods. They also know how to capitalize. I'm sure Franken really worries what ignorant mountain folk think of him.
