Don't forget "hypocritical." When he says "all Americans" he means heterosexual male whites.

And even there he's wrong: I'm a heterosexual white male. I believe Ginsburg has been an excellent justice, and I'm confident Sotomayor will be, too.

Well, fearmongering is a time-honored, ancient technique for getting large numbers of people to obey. The "great" thing about it is that spreading groundless fear requires no logic or reason, and as fear spreads, the capability to exercise logic and reason deteriorates further.

Then we hacve to get rid of Roberts, Alito, and Thomas. These men only help those on the right who do not need help to have a fair chance. O'Reilly you should remember at one time you could not have got a job just because of your name.

Exactly right. Like I posted on a previous thread earlier, it's the republican justices who are most likely to overturn congressional laws. Isn't that their very definition of "ruling from the bench"?

Isn't that amazing Snoopy? Those guys on the right actually believe that judicial activism is a dominant liberal trait. there are numerous examples of "conservative" judges legislating from the bench, but in their warped world, it only becomes "legislating from the bench" when the judge is "liberal." The most glaring example I can think of is the conservative members of the court systematically shredding the 4th amendment in case after case, because of this inane war on drugs.

They are stymied within their "conservative ideology" of law and order and as such, over the past 40 years they have ignored the Constitution, the result is that the most powerful person you will ever meet is most likely going to be a $30,000 a year city policeman who while conducting a simple traffic stop has more authority over your civil liberties than any person on the planet. The reality is that conservatives wrote the book on "legislating from the bench."

Uhhh, Bill, about Sonya Sotomayor...look at her record as a judge, you moron. Her record is actually very moderate. Once again, though, one gets the impression that a rich, white Republican man feels threatened by the prospect of a New York-Puerto Rican woman from the projects being a judge...a judge of any sort, let alone a Supreme Court Justice. Deal with it, Bill...this ain't 1955. And Sonya Sotomayor is more than qualified for the job.

It's funny. The people who have actually read her decisions say she's fair, rules narrowly, adhering to law and precedent. I've seen no examples of activism. I haven't even seen anything that would indicate that she's particularly liberal. And still the right wing attack machine goes ahead at full speed.

WHAT THE HECK IS THIS "TURN FOR THE WORSE"???

Most of the time, Right-wing professional liars like O'Reilly won't tell us. They simply give us nothing but vague cliches alluding to the destruction of America. However, I think we can visit a previous rant to know what's really got hiS undies in a twist over Sotomayor...

"And there you have the white power structure would decline, of course. Because the numbers of people coming here would be people of color. Right? That's the hidden agenda."

Yeah... right... like the Supreme Court is not already filled with four right-wing judicial activists who would love to legislate away all the rights that the very Constitution guarantees us all!

Sheesh Billy... could you not be so obvious next time?

And BillO wonders how it can possibly be that as his numbers go down... Olbermann's are going up.

Sotomayor will not change the balance of the court. She may actually be a little more conservative than Souter.

Just STFU Billy. You are so embarassing yourself. Stevens IS the most liberal member of the bench. Even if Sotomayor were MORE lefty than Ginsburg, that would STILL keep the balance of the court just like it is. What we need is for a couple of those cons like Scalia or Thomas to retire and replace THEM with a couple REAL liberals. Lawrence Tribe types. THAT is what I want to see.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 1999 and underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiation treatments. During the process, she did not miss a single day on the bench.
If I knew nothing else about this woman, this one fact alone would find me humbled if I were to be compared to her in any way.

As a cancer survivor, her actions showed strength and courage.

As a judge, her actions showed loyalty to her position and conviction to the law.

As an American her patriotism is unquestionable.

You should aspire to be half as much.

the older this man gets, the louder he screams. sometimes he emphasizes a word and yells it with extra vigor. its almost like he's losing his hearing and needs to just raise his voice to make people hear him. or maybe hes just crazy. i wouldnt doubt the latter being possible.

Why does anybody listen to this man? He teased a segment last night about the Evian Baby commercial with, "Is Evian exploiting children with their commercial"? Surely, Bill understands that those were NOT extremely talented babies in that commercial. It was ADULTS who had been digitally enhanced to look like babies. This man has some major screws loose.

O 'Reilly just hasn't been happy since Al Franken was sworn in. Now he fears the Judiciary will trurn against him and his ilk. I am concerned that Sotomayor may be like the Souter nomination and be much more conservative then the Democrats would like. (I hope I am wrong).

All this talk by Republicans about making law from the bench and ignoring the Constitution is so much blather that is repeated over and over to make one believe their lies. It is very similar to their calling the MSM a liberal, far left group.
