        It says an awful lot about the horrid media landscape in Washington when the most interesting thing in this morning's papers, according to Chris Wallace, the head of Fox's journalists pecking order, is how many blinks Sotmayor made during her first two questions. No wonder the news paper business is dying and no wonder only idiots tune in to Fox for "news".

      Someone shoot me in the head right now.

      It seems that both the right-wing media and the Republicans want to talk about anything except Sotomayor's record outside of the firefighters' case.

      I heard a great clip of Bill Maher this morning from his Hardball appearance, to paraphrase...

      All these grouchy old white men are going after Sotomayor as if Puerto Ricans have had their boot on the neck of white men for years and it's got to stop.

      This Milbank/Wallace blinkrate analysis is fascinating. How did Milbank measure this? Perhaps he has a special blink rate sensor specially designed for him...or, he extrapolated his own blink rate that he carefully measured during his former stint on Keith Oberman's show, and added 50 or so more blinks....or,

      he's really running out of anything to say;
      and Wallace has an even greater problem, in that he repeats the blink rate analysis.
