"The argument that's always made is, 'yes, but the, the effects of slavery echo down through the ages, and that's why it's so difficult for black Americans to get ahead.'"

Quinn offers no names and no attribution to anyone who said this. Jim Quinn is a racist p***k who is broad brushing and putting words into the mouths of an entire racial demographic of Americans.

Yea, Quinn, black people are poor in this country because they're lazy...too busy having babies, doing drugs and eating watermelon. Of course, nobody ever stopped them from getting ahead...getting a good education or living in a good neighborhood. Everything's always been open to them just like white people ever since we were forced to abolish slavery by a bunch of damn do-gooders. Is that what you really think? If so you are ignoring an ugly part of our country's history...even long after slavery was abolished. BTW, when did white people in this country ever lynch Koreans? I must have missed that... Quinn, you give white men a bad name.

Nice racist rant. I wonder when the republicans are gonna recruit him for office?

      Dear MMFA,

I think there's been a mistake. I played the clip but all I heard was incoherent babble. It was as if some kind of malfunctioning, racist Speak-n-Spell was trying to make a point about race and U.S. history, but since it's just a mindless tool it could only sputter on and on.

I'm sure this was just a technical problem, but please let us know when it's been corrected and the actual clip has been uploaded properly.

      Thanks,
      -V

Why don't we do what the Republicans do? Make up stories about this guy, say it often enough, loud enough, and he'll have to answer to it.
It was done to Don Imus, and personally Quinn is much worse.

We don't have to make up stories about him. Just as the case was with Don Imus, Quinn's own words tell the entire story.

When you see conservative(republican) talk radio all go in unison to race as they have this week.they had a ratings drop. The race flavor this week is supposed to be hispanic. But every chance they get its eased toward black and white. It's a more lucrative market.Race oppisition along these lines may give people a reason to listen to them. They would have inside information from one of the oposing sides. This allows better control of revenue, being able to control and start conflict at will for ratings and money.

"... but it works so well as a political tool..."

Speaking of political tools, Mr. Quinn, does this mean that the conservative war on poverty is being declared a failure? How about the conservative war on drugs? How about the conservative war against terror in Iraq, where there was no Al Qaeda until after Bush invaded? How about the conservative war on crime? Homelessness? I could go on, but I think you get the idea.
