Everyone graduates from Harvard Summa Cum Laude??

When will white men realize how stupid they sound when they denounce affirmative action.

They do not know what it's like to be denied credit cards, car loans, student loans, grants, etc just because of their race.

They have no concept of doors being opened or shut because every door is automatically opened for a white man. It truly shows his age, senility, and naivete.

From personal experience, I find it amazing how a couple of former friends who were republican and hispanic would always throw out the victim card and then try to manipulate your conscience to take something they clearly didn't deserve in the first place. It didn't take long to see them as manipulative using types, thank god! I've yet to come across a liberal hispanic friend who does that...

      That's sick Pat...

Sarah Palin... self made and self accomplished, yet quits every time the fire gets to hot

Judge Sotomayor... must be affirmative action and needed extra help to get where she is, yet is quite comfortable it seems on the hot seat!

Again... Pat's deep seeded racism is so obvious... its a wonder that Gene Robinson did not cold-cock the old bastard!

          Seriously...you really need to ask?

Because these shows are not about 'news' or keeping people 'informed.'
          These shows are about 'entertainment.'

The reason that Buchanan and Ann Coulter repeat making outrageous comments and remain unscathed, and frequent commentators, is because this is what the networks crave. They do not want nuanced discussions on policy.

Why does Limbaugh rant...why does Glen Beck scream at the top of his lungs and 'go off the deep end?' It is because they know that such behavior only increases their popularity.

The same goes for Pat Buchanan. I would be willing to bet that if he were to moderate his rhetoric, you would be seeing him less and less on MSNBC. He is playing a role.

That is the sad state of what passes for network news channels in 2009. The scary thing is that MSNBC is actually the best of the lot.

Sigh....I already knew the answer, but it still is amazing that people think he's entertaining. He's just a tired, dried up old racist, who gets away with it because he's a beltway insider.

It's why people pay money to watch someone bite off the head of a live chicken, rubberneck at traffic accidents, and spend more time on porn than classic music.

Amen. That's why I call MSNBC, CNN and Fox cable "opinion" networks. There is very little news on any of their primetime programs. It's all about entertainment.

Gene Robinson tried to explain it to Pat, but hey these Republicans just don't want to hear it. Pat is mad today because the Democrats "passed" the Healthcare Reform Bills out of two major committees in Congress (both Senate and House). Plus, there is real talk about investigating secret programs led by former VP Cheney. And, putting the cherry on today this 'wise latino' woman maybe confirmed as the next Supreme Court Justice...The heads of Republicans are about to "explode".

Pat and his Republicans are having a bad day that's all. Their frustrations are coming out by using the 'race' card to "distract" from these major things happening with the Democrats. Great "distraction" when you think about it. Wink, wink.

Btw, Pat's answer about pushing Gov. Palin for President was "priceless" too. LOL

Buchanan thinks that Sotomayor is unqualified to serve on the Supreme Court, but he once thought that HE was qualified to be President.

        Makes sense to me.

He ruled against women and equality in United States v. Virginia. (And was the lone dissenter.)
He ruled against gays (etc...) in Lawrence v. Texas.
He's been in the dissent in every single case where the majority has chosen to uphold limits on school prayer. (So he's ruled against the non-religious and aginst those with different religions than the one in which the prayer is being said.)

          Good enough for you?

He's an insensitive jackass that claims to follow the letter of the law, while blanatantly ignoring the spirit of it, and has often imposed his own political view on it, despite his self-righteous claims to the contrary.

(Just look at the Ricci case.)

"Everybody graduates Cum Lade from Harvard now!"

Hey Pat, she graduated Summa Cum Lade from Princeton, then went to Yale Law. She never went to Harvard.

But even if we assume that Pat's statement is true (caution: professional on a closed course. Don't try this at home): It's not like she just graduated last month! She graduated in the last '70's! *headdesk*

YES she graduated with honors long before the grading system was changed to ensure the graduates recouped that huge investment at Ivy League schools.
Why doesn't he talk about GW Bush/John McCain 's mediocre academic records while he criticizes her excellent one.He shows pure bias /racism when trying to justify Sarah Palin.Who wants another Scalia...he may be smart but certainly shows bias as pointed out above. How about the voter ID ruling...how important that might be to a blind senior American collecting a fixed disability income ..who doesn't drive and may not have a copy of his birth certificate..Quite a hassel and expense to get paperwork and such let alone tha cost to get it all done. Some people missed voing for the 1st time because of it.Go Scalia and Uncle Tom Thomas!!!!..great insight and interpretation of the law.Voter fraud and reverse discriminations are such huge problems to overcome ..yeah Right!!!
