This should be a non story. It is just another way the right is trying to make Obama look bad.

I watched that live this morning with my 60 year old father, he about fell of the couch when Ratigan said that. We both started listing off female softball players like Monica Abbott, Jenny Finch, and so on. There is nothing wrong with throwing like a girl when you can smoke almost anyone at the plate.

Well the convinient thing is they make words mean whatever they want them to mean. Obama's not a real man because they don't like the way he throws a baseball so I'm sure to them a female softball player isn't a real woman.

There's a small newspaper in Pittsburgh called the Tribune and yesterday it had a picture of Obama heading a soccer ball as he was walking UP stairs! THAT takes coordination and physical talent!

I'm a girl. I have a boney girl arm, and can't throw worth beans.

Does that mean all girls can't throw? I'd suspect not since you can turn on the tube and see girls (sic) throwing really well. Hey, my husband likes to watch girls throw ;-) He also likes girls with glasses, but I digress.

Does Obama thrown like me? Nope. He looked pretty good for a person who doesn't play baseball. Can Rush Limbaugh throw? Nope, I suspect not. He's not an athlete and I wouldn't say he was unmanly because of it.

Now he may be unmanly. But not because of his lack of prowess at baseball ;-)

        Can Rush Limbaugh throw?
The only way Rush throws is up, when he takes too much Oxy.

MSNBC should be embarrassed for picking up on this story... especially a story that Rush blathers on about.

Rush had one of his female sycophant callers on yesterday. At first, she was protesting his characterization of "throws like a girl" as sexist, which it is. She pointed out that female athletes can throw as well as men.

He argued that most girls could only throw things like ash trays, pots and pans and rolling pins. Of course, being a brainless sycophant, the formerly "outraged" caller giggled at Porky's sexist humor.

So now we know how Rush's wives dealt with him, lol.

      1) I love it when fat, lazy, drug addled arm-chair generals make fun of someone who at least goes out there and does things like... toss a ball or makes truly hard decisions (not the Bush kind, but the adult kind)

      2) True story... When my daughter was 8, there was a boy in the neighborhood (who was 11) that picked on her relentlessly, not the kind of picking on that indicates he likes her, the vicious kind that showed he was a little punk.

One day I happen to over hear this occurring and instead of getting mad at the boy, I simply told him that if he can throw a baseball further (in a tennis court) than my daughter, that I would allow him to pick on her all he wanted and that I would not come to my daughters rescue.

Understand, this was not of much worry to me as my daughter had been in little league for two years and I threw with her all the time... this boy threw like a 'girl'... and I knew it!

Suffice to say, the boy threw the ball past the back white line of the opposite side (about a foot short of the 20 foot fence)...

My daughter threw her ball... over the fence (from the exact same spot the boy stood at)... there was about 20 witnesses to the whole exchange.

The boy not only never teased my kid again, but never spoke to her again. Considering the boys dad... I see this kid being no better than the kind that Rush Limbaugh caters to on a daily basis.

My daughter played fastpitch softball, and from the ages of 8-12, she was constantly outperforming boys her age. It was certainly fun to watch, and I had dreams of a college scholarship for her.

Unfortunately, it came so naturally to her when she was young that she never saw the value of practice (despite nagging from dad). Now age 16, she's just an average player.

        Ah, that's life.

I understand the pun. What should be understood and versed more clearly is, if I am correcting in understanding the intent, is that girls don't play hard politics and they are more honest in the issues they raise. This is something I will have to study and read on before I comment. It will be complimenting to the latest study's that says women have a different management style that eases business and brings about more harmony and profit. If this is true, I see a woman as president soon. I'll get back to you. Look at Queen Elizabeth! No problems there. Not like other countries and nations.

Lots of tweeting? Easy to say, hard to prove. Will this be the new lazy reference that "reporters' use (some say)?

I have two friends who both played softball and would love to strike out that freak.

OT, but what is it gonna take to get the GOP to start vetting the right wing loonies they run on a daily basis!

"Crabill, who proclaims on her campaign website that "America was founded by right-wing extremists," has already drawn fire for her controversial views. Among other things, she believes the U.S. government played a role in the Oklahoma City Bombing."

The future of the GOP is looking more and more like a padded cell and a nutjob coat.

It did. Over 160 of its employees were victims of a right-wing nutjob terrorist.

Good lord. Why is she trying to defend Limbaugh? She sounds like the female equivalent of Juan Williams. 'Girls can't throw' is a stereotype akin to 'blacks love fried chicken' or 'jews are miserly.'

A few decades back a "girl," an all-star pitcher from a women's softball league struck out some major leaguers. Reggie Jackson, in his prime, was one of her victims, I'm pretty sure. MLB has never let itself be embarrassed like that again.

Personally, I was thrilled to see it happen, because I'd been struck out on three pitches by a woman once, in Central Park. To be honest, though, I think the ump gave her that third pitch. It sounded high.

Wow, are we still talking about a damned baseball pitch?

I thought Cons wanted to turn Americans against the health care reform among other things. Why don't they talk about THAT instead of wasting everybody's time?
