      Dear CNN,

      Could you please teach Lou Dobbs how to use the internet? I suggest going to Google or Factcheck.org or perhaps even Snopes. Also you might want to mention to Lou that the President of the United States doesn't take orders from wingnuts or their heroes on the airwaves, one of those being Lou Dobbs.

        Lou is another escapee of the psych ward, so he can't manage the google. But he could at least click the link to factcheck and see how this non-story is bogus. Or the link to snopes.

        Frank was my favorite thing about MASH. Larry Linville was just brilliant as the snivelling little weasel. After he, McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers left it went downhill fast.

      This is a pretty fun topic to research. Just start reading some of the arguments from the "Birthers". Pretty hilarious stuff.

      It is clear at this point that releasing a "long form" will not satisfy their conspiracy loving hearts. A few have even pre-emptively argued that too much time has passed and that any release will likely be a forgery.

      What I want to know is how Obama traveled in a time machine to August 13th 1961 (9 days after his birth) and was able to get birth announcements (that came from the Hawaii Dept. of Health) into two separate newspapers? Why doesn't Obama share his time traveling capabilities with the rest of the world? Selfish B@stard!

            WRONG~ the goal is to end the controversy and Barack H. Obama is the only one who can do that. The only thing he needs to do is to present his Birth Certificate. NOT his Certification of Live Birth, . . . his actual Birth Certificate.
            Then, all of this will go away.

      Lou is feeling the heat from Glenn and Rush to up his crazy ratio. It wouldn't be right to call the president undocumented? You just did, Lou.

      You ever wonder why the bobbleheads questioning Obama are over-paid, over-stuffed white guys? It's simple--the cannot believe that a black man is actually the president. The only way that could happen, they believe but are too afraid to say, is if the black man somehow cheated.

      In the meantime, I'm content to wait for the day, in the not too distant future, when the actuarial charts catch up with them.

      It is called create the news.Push stories with legal issue that stirs up hate,and can't be resolved because there phoney.Then say oh well y'all tried to resolve this in a cival legal manner.Some of y'all may take matters in your own hands.But if you are going to do something stupid,please do it between 10am and 12pm.We get better camera coverage,can program evening news better,and we'll have to pay less overtime.

      And so to keep saying that is reflective of the way this government has been run before O'Bama. You chose to perform a behavior first and then you ask for proof. Lou Dobbs has not astounding credentials to call for clarity or decision making evidence that has been useful in the past. His only credit is longevity! Now Lou, produce an argument or position on the events of government for the past 12 years, the design of government that has been evolving before your eyes, your list of public charity and community service schedules, your research or journalism/reporting on topics of human interest and government misconduct and I will personally call and ask the President to satisfy you with this document. First, answer this meritoriously before all of the other request, If this was a concern, why did you not question it before the man was the President of the United States of America? and two: who do you think you are trying to sound intelligent with stupidity?

      Every time someone produces some new evidence of the legitimate citizenship they change the angle of attack.

      Case in point, sensing they are not getting much more mileage out of this they are not calling for a change to law so that mearly being born on US soil is not good enough.

        I heard that yesterday. Some guy out in California saying that they want to change the law to not allow for people born on US soil to be citizens of the US. In other words, illegal immigrants is who this guy was targetting of course.

        Then, he went on to say, they're proposing a law that if you do have a baby in the US, you have to be fingerprinted, checked through by the Dept of Homeland Security before a birth certificate is issued.

        Of course, never bothering to think that they would have to amend the US Constitution to pull this off, and something tells me they're not going to amend it for this crap.

          The problem is that a new statute won't accomplish this change. Individuals become U.S. citizens by birth on U.S. soil because the Supreme Court has given a broad interpretation to the Fourteenth Amendment language which reads "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States..."

          If the Supreme Court has ruled that a provision of the Constitution is to be interpreted in a certain way, Congress does not have the power to change this interpretation. To effect the change they want, conservatives would either need to pack the Supreme Court with like-minded people who would overturn precedent, or the Congress and the state legislatures would have to get behind a constitutional amendment changing the language of the Fourteenth Amendment to limit citizenship by birth to persons lawfully present in the United States.

          Hm -- so, in other words, if this law was passed, that would render the 87.5 per cent of the US population of 300 million that was born on US soil as ... illegals.

          I wonder if that guy stopped to think that might include HIM??

            I think what he meant, and maybe what I forgot to add, was that he was talking about illegals who gave birth on US soil. He doesn't want their babies (anchor babies) to be given the rights of US citizens.

            He also wants California to not allow children of illegals, who are US citizens, to get benefits (like welfare and or food stamps), because as he said, "They don't deserve them." Forgetting of course that the kids he's talking about are legal US citizens and all.

      Haven't we already been down this road and the officials in charge of this type of thing in Hawaii have already stated that his birth certificate was in fact REAL? The birth certificate was shown everywhere, in newspapers on countless news websites. Does Obama have to keep it pinned to the outside of this jacket for all to see no matter where he goes?

      I swear that Obama could cure cancer and the GOP talking heads would put a negative slant to it. Obama cures cancer but why did he allow so many to die before he decided to help? Whatever.

        If you have paid attention to the birthers ever evolving debate, you would know that Obama has merely presented his Certification of Live Birth - not his Birth Certificate. Apparently the Birth Certificate can have slightly more information on it, but the state gives you the COLB when you request a copy of your birth certificate.

        When Obama originally released the COLB, a birther claimed Obama used his sister's supposed Hawaiian COLB (who was incidentally born in Indonesia) to forge his COLB. This was all rumor before Hawaii came out and said the document was indeed authentic.

        The argument has now become that Obama was born in Kenya, but went immediately to Hawaii to claim US citizenship - because it was more valuable. Although it appears Obama's mother oddly did not bother to do the same for Obama's sister who apparently has an Indonesian birth certificate.

        As an interesting note, the birthers claim non-citizens can get COLB's by citing Sun Yat Sen as a example - which predates statehood by decades - and strangely enough by citing Obama's sister - who does not seem to have a Hawaii COLB anywhere I can see other than the unfounded and completely discredited rumor that Obama used it to forge his own COLB.

        The whole thing is a farce. The birthers make stuff up to create one lie and then refer back to the made up stuff in their new attacks as if it is settled fact.

          There are also people who say that Obama isn't eligible for the presidency even IF born in Hawaii because British Common Law (Kenya was a British colony when Obama was born, and his father was from Kenya of course we all know that) required children of the Crown to pass their citizenship on to their children, which would have made Obama a dual-citizen, ineligible for the presidency. But Obama would have lost that citizenship by the age of 21. Also, I don't think his mother stayed married to his father for long, if at all, right?

      Good honk! What is WRONG with these people? Obama DID produce the birth certificate sent to him by the State of Hawaii who has VERIFIED that they sent it to him at his request and that it represents the ORIGINAL they have in their archives. These people need to GET A LIFE!

        That's exactly the point. President Obama could submit all the certification in the world, eyewitnesses, film...anything...and Dobbs, Hannity, Limbaugh, and the other wingnuts wouldn't accept it.

        What's the difference between these guys and the people who thin that 9/11 was an inside job?

      Lou needs to learn even more about what you are talking about. U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook volunteered to go to Iraq so when he requested not to go they also honored that request. The Pentagon was just following their standard operating procedures when they rescinded his orders to go to Iraq.

      Officials for the State of Hawaii have already stated on the record that (1) the Certification of Live Birth is an official Hawaii document which is accepted as prima facie evidence of Obama's Hawaiian birth and is sufficient proof for the U.S. State Department to issue a passport and (2) Obama's long form birth certificate is filed and in conformity with Hawaii law.

      To believe this is insufficient, you have to believe that the Certification of Live Birth is fraudulent or a forgery and that Hawaii officials are en masse involved in a conspiracy/cover-up. I guess every generation has to have its Zapruder film...

      i think what we see here is a classic example of the tragedy of alzheimer's. clearly, mr. dobbs has forgotten that the constitution specifically authorizes the senate to:

      1. confirm the president-elect meets the minimal requirements:
      a. natural born citizen.
      b. at least 35 years old.

      2. confirm the electoral college's count, and officially declare
      the winner.

      all of this was done by dec. 2008. is he seriously suggesting that, were there any real question regarding the location of obama's birth, that not one senate republican would have spoken out, prior to ratifying the nov. vote?

      considering some of the republican wackadoodles in the senate, i don't believe this for a nano-second.

      I think Obama should go further to produce (even more) proof of his citizenship... but only with the provision that, upon receipt of (even more) proof, these birther whackjobs have to pack up and move to Iraq, promising never to open their stupid mouths ever again.

      My suggestion to Lou Dobbs would be for him to read these transcripts of his radio conversations to see what an absolute buffon he makes himself out to be. FYI The President of these United States has produced a valid birth certificate, it is you and yours that refuse to accept the facts. You do injustice to the media in general and paint yourself in the same lite as dough boy Rush.

      Lou Dobbs has finally stumbled on a way to conflate his hatred of "illegal" immigrants with his hatred of Obama. McCain is the new poster child for the white male U.S. citizen whose job was stolen by another "illegal". Broken borders indeed. I'm surprised he hasn't called for Obama's deportation.

      It's been fun watching this issue over the past six months and the evolution of the kool-aid drinkers. Y'all have gone from reasonable efforts to validate Barry's eligibility to ugly name calling and now I see abject panic. You know he's not eligible and you see the handwriting on the wall - it's only a matter of time until Barry goes DOWN!! There are too many court cases, too many grand jury presentments, too many military personnel refusing orders, too much media attention, too much. . . It's gonna happen, you can just feel it! Barry is a usurper!. . .a traitor!. . .a pathological liar! and he's going DOWN!

      People are forgetting the real issue as to why produce the Certificate. The Original document provides Hospital, Doctors Name and Location. If this is to much to ask for the American People, this Country is truly in collapse. We do have laws and unfortunately our Government seems to think that they are above it.
      We must put aside the Political party assocations, we are all americans in this Country and we all either benefit or are destroyed by the elected officials. We the people need to keep these individuals in check. Is that to much to ask?

      The reason that no long form has been produced is because it is risky to produce a document with verifiable facts. Facts can be checked and all it takes is one or two impossibilities and the lie is exposed.

      As of right now, 100% of all living witnesses to Obama's birth state unequivocaly that he was born in Mombasa, Kenya.

      Lou is wrong about one thing. There is proof to the contrary of Obama's birth place. Obama's Kenya Grandmother said that she witnessed Obams's birth in Kenya ( youtube: Barack Obama Born in Kenya? and Barack Obama - Born in Kenya II. The Kenyan Ambassador was recorded (it's available,look for it youtube: Kenyan Ambassador admits Obama born in Kenya) on audio saying that Obama was born in Kenyan and that his birth place is attracting a lot of tourists and that they may erect a memorial there to him. These two testimonies hold a lot of water and should be investigated. I know some here would love to make this a right/left thing but there are many liberals that also want to know, I know many. When George Bush did not want to show his discharge papers the left became very angry, remember? and the right was calling the left conspiracy nuts, remember?
      I remember. I also remember JFK in a 1962 speech saying how evil secrets are in the media and within the government. As long as Obama refuses to show his real birth certificate which is as simple as opening a drawer and getting it then he is guilty of adding fuel to this fire. Instead of calling each other names why not intelligently debate this thing? Why does he a have a team of lawyers at tax payers expense in every state ready to fight the release of his birth certificate if it comes to trial? What could be so secret about a birth certificate? If it were a small matter then they would not have included it in the Constitution. I am a realist, I need proof, as an American shame on you for not demanding more from your politicians. Thank you again LOU!
