Because the mainstream "news" networks should not have to relying doing their own research or work themselves when they can just rely on partisan clever artwork.

One must remember this claim of " this chart shows only the democratic plan " is the result of these boneheads ( Republicans ) have no alternative plan. remember Boehners thin budget plan with no numbers. Romans and her partner are either slow at the swich or drank too much kool-aid for eight years.

Come to think about this, are networks like CNN and FOX not allowing their ' reporters " to develop into people with critical thinking skills and some courage, or is it ok to just sit around the studio and bask in the klieg lights with guests blathering away whatever they want ?

The republicans think they have struck gold. They seem to have stumbled on the idea of putting a black face on everything they oppose. In a gold rush many come running. Some get rich, some get swindled by the assayers, some find fool's gold. Some find the mother load. But because of greed, and not realizing gold mining is a dangerous business, the mine caves in on them.

The party that gets the American people healthcare reform/public option wins the race. Any party that opposes healthcare reform/public option has hedged their bets that it won't get passed and will find themselves doomed.

The migration of Republicans and center right independents that would have traditionally voted conservative are abandoning the party like rats from a sinking ship.

The problem, for me, is it makes the Democratic party more centered and less liberal.

Not necessarily so,what has been accused of being way to the left by the conservatives is really center.I am speaking of the conservatives who run the operation.A party including everybody's view including the rats may be workable. There are reasons to keep the rats close. The thing to keep an eye on where the conservatives try to infiltrate with their lies and hate. They have wandered from party to party since there have been parties in this country. They have always had self centered motives that are opposed to the interest of most people of the US.The conservatives have always recruited votes by lying to people.Their favorite lie, We will look out for your interest against THEM.

This is CNN? These "anchors" might as well call themselves Ron Bergundy!
I don't believe that came from CNN. Fox has infiltrated CNN. Sad.
Let's take a look at what a single payer plan would do-You could go to ANY doctor, regardless of your situation.
What do we have now? Insurers who are only worried about the bottom line(profit). Which means, of course, your INSURER already stands in your way of treatment if it costs too much.
Prior condition? Can't insure you because it will hurt our bottom line.
Yeah, we have a great healthcare system, if we could only afford to use it.

FWIW: I sent the following email to CNN atits contact us pages:

      QUOTE
I was astounded to see Romans and Velshi use a partisan Republican prepared chart as if it offered any insight on the issue.

It is bias (hopefully unthinking) that leads many people away from CNN - I've been a CNN viewer since Desert Storm, but tune in less and less because CNN is becoming less and less of a reliable news source.

Fox already has the folks who want partisanship

BTW - yes, Ms. Velshi, much of government is complicated because life and human interactions are complicated.

I think it is tragic when a once respected news source joins in the "government is evil" manta begun decades ago by the right wing.

      With diminishing respect
