Except that some of the most strict constructionists out there get tagged as ultra liberal ALL OF THE TIME. That being the ACLU.

By definition a "strict constructionist" is someone the radical teabagging reich-wing agrees with an "activist" is someone they disagree with. So, yes, you are correct, Liasson.

Activist judges are only activist's when one disagrees with them. Sort of like the old argument about nuclear missiles, your missiles are offensive, and mine are defensive.

The United States Constitution has always been inteperted acording to the times. If it is time for conservatives on the bench you get conservative rulings. If it is time for liberals on the bench, you get liberal rulings. The will of the people also plays an unwritten part.As it should be. One hundred years is not the same as today

Which is another way of saying activist judges and what the right feared from Sotomayor. The Ricci case was a great example.

The Ricci case is a great example of Sotomayor adhering to precedent and deferring to elected representatives of the people's will and how a narrow majority of the current Supreme Court decided to reinterpret the Civil Rights Act the the 14th and 15th amendments.

Conservative activism rules in favor of money and big business.LIberal activism rules in favor of the people.Which one is in your better interest? Not all conservative judge rulings are unfair. But it would be hard to write a book highlighting fair conservative judge rulings. You can write quite a few books on their unfair rulings.
