Okay, this guy must have an uncle on the FOX board of directors... there's no other possible explanation.

Uh huh. Let's keep it vague, too, so people don't remember quite how stupid I was for saying Americans breed with other "species".

This is as good as it gets with Fox News, so I hauled out the niceties whenever the window cracks open an inch.

I think there was an FCC complaint, and he was required to make this statement. That would explain the big delay, because it was a dead issue. It didn't just come out of nowhere.

So basically, you're saying he was forced to apologize? That's even worse, now his apology really is a non apology.

Honestly this doesn't strike me as something in which the FCC would have intervened. More likely, to me, is the possibility that a sponsor's CEO happens to be married to a member of an "other species" and heard about what this buffoon said.

The apology still does not help the stupidity of the statement as it concerns marrying other "species." You have to wonder how he got through college.

It was a dumb comment, but give the guy his due for apologizing and accept it for what it is. I don't want to align myself with the Sarah Palins of the world who is looking to score political points even after receiving an apology.

Continuing to beat the dead horse isn't the right thing to do...show some class.

He made an idiotic remark, he obviously received a lot of pressure to apologize and he's done it... the rest of the Fox Nation needs to learn something from it.

It wasn't just a stupid remark. He obviously holds those feelings or he wouldn't have said. He shouldn't have a forum on TV to call people of different races a different species. He needs to go give speeches to the American Nazi Party or the National Alliance.

Wow, this is a first! I'm pleasantly surprised and my level of angst towards Kilmeade has dropped a couple of points..

thank you, maybe some of his cohorts at Fox will take a cue from this action...<pause for nervous silence> hey, I can hope.

      Dare I say...

Once a racist, always a racist. Despite any kind of apology?

Kilmeade apologizing is a nice step, but unless he does not do or say something as despicable again... I don't much believe it.

What took so long? If a Dem politician said something stupid and insensitive FOX would be demanding they apologize and probably have a countdown board: "Day number 6 since blah-blah-blah." Oh well. Maybe it just took them that long to make Kilmeade understand what species means.

Yeah, wonder what happened-- the delay shows that something caused this statement to be made explicitly right now-- hmm... an FCC complaint or lawsuit?

This wasn't just an ad hoc thing-- he had to do it to settle something-- it was due to lawyer advice.

Who's surprised? Not me. Fox has a policy of promoting liars and stupid people and encouraging them to outdo all other liars and stupid people. Sooner or later we are bound to hear lies that are totally outrageous or stupid comments that test our ability to believe someone was stupid enough to say it.
With the likes of Hannity and O'Reilly, two world class liars, even a stupid man like Kilmeade doesn't surprise.
Why is he apologizing? He's doing exactly what Fox wants him to do.

As the husband of a native Korean and the proud father of two beautiful mixed-race children, I say thank you, Brian.

But you're still a jerk for all the other stupid things you say.

And yet, the liberal supreme court nominee can say that she 'didn't mean what everybody says and thinks she meant' regarding her racist, sexist comments about hispanic women being able to make better decisions than a white male. Even though she said it at least 5 times in prepared statements, her 'I didn't mean it' is taken at face value by the same folks who criticize a guy who has to pontificate for about 5 hours a day and slips up like this very rarely. What a double standard...

You think Sotomayor was given a pass? Every right-wing professional liar in America is pouncing on her. Every white, angry, old-fart Republican on the committee spent their Q&A time grilling her over race.

Kilmeade was called out by a website, while Sotomayor was dragged throught the mud of the "liberal" media and was tongue lashed before the U.S. Congress.

Yeah, my heart really goes out to poor Brian.

Geez, Fox seems to have to apologize an awful lot for a "straight-up news channel" doesn't it?
