This punk would not have voiced such un-American filth under a GOP president. This tool, and many others, put their patriotism away as easily as they stowed their lawn chairs last November.

Ralph Peters seems preemptively ready to throw that soldier under the bus. Disgusting rhetoric. If he (the soldier) is indeed a deserter, then there's a lot of questions we should be asking. But I think it has to be presumed that he isn't right now, unless Peters wants to man up abut some information the rest of us aren't privvy to.

Even if he is a deserter, he deserves a chance to defend himself in a military courtroom. I've never heard the suggestion that deserters should be abandoned to the enemy to do with as they wish. This person is beyond disgusting. He's un-American, anti-Soldier, and something less than a human being.

How do you feel about having dessert in your underwear?

Suddenly I know there's an Acme Safe somewhere with my name on it, but I don't know why.

So this soldier doesn't deserve due process, and neither do the terrorists who are holding him. I think it'd save a lot of time if the right just made a list of the people who ARE entitled to treatment as human beings. I guarantee they could get it under a page.

Why aren't all the phoney 'great Americans',who so dramatically and emotionally support our troops skewering this fool?

Answer: he appeared on Fox News.

Come on Hannity, let's hear the outrage; let's hear it for our brave American soldiers, and their sacrifices. You use their bravery, and patriotism to further your agenda. You owe them.

Where are you Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin, Beck? Man up!

Remember the outrage and hand-wringing when Move-On.org had the audacity to insult General Petraeus? Now we have a conservative commentator actually encouraging terrorists to kill one of our soldiers, and the silence from the Troglodytes is deafening.

What is this guy's story? Is this the 1st time he's gone over the edge? Why is he on TV anyways? He's just a retired O5, not a full bull.

      Quote:

      Code of Conduct V.
      a. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.

      End quote

This is a fundamental duty when serving in the US military. If you volunteer to put on the uniform, there are things that you promise to do. Abstaining from making statements against the policies you were ordered to carry out is key. The enemy knows how powerful it is.

Regardless of your disagreement, or your political leanings, this poor soldier violated the trust of his nation. I hope for his safe return, but I demand his court martial.

I am a liberal in almost every sense, but I am also a veteran. I know what is expected of men and women in uniform. I can only imagine what is going through the heads of the folks who are searching for this soldier who essentially is a traiter. They will have to put their lives on the line to save him. Even if the capture was not due to any wrongdoing on his own part, his behavior as a prisoner is reprehensible.

Bottom line, the code of conduct has been violated. It is there for a reason. If he wanted to protest the war, he shouldn't have joined the armed forces. There is extensive training in the code of conduct in peacetime, and I would imagine that the training is even more extensive with two wars in progress.

It was me who gave you the thumbs down. My son is a former Marine. He was deployed to Iraq twice. My son was against the war, but he served his country, and received an honorable discharge.

You don't know the circumstances of this "poor soldier's" capture. However, he was in Afganistan for five months, and it appears he did his job, and served his Country. For anyone to call for a court martial, particularly a service man or woman at this point ... well, is just unbelivable.
