It would be nice if MMFA would condense all the limbaugh threads into a single thread at the end of the day. He's telling so many lies that he's overrunning this site.

I think MMfA would need to open a separate Rush-correcting site, snoopy. Not a bad idea, actually.

Wait... so is he saying that it's primarily Republican famiies that have abortions? And that we're therefore aborting potential conservatives in greater proprotion? Or is he... Oh never mind. As usual he's just talking out of his @ss.

What I find disturbing is not that Rush is concerned with tax payer dollars funding abortion or not. For someone who is arguably pro-life, it seems vacuous and repugnant for them to be making political points astride a pile of aborted fetuses. There is a vastness to such hypocrisy that is simply appalling to me.

I listened to this twice...and am trying to figure out what point he was trying to make... but then I realized that he must have just took a big gulp of "Crazy" this morning (mixed in with his other meds)

The conservative argument for abortion is not based on logic, it's based on religion and emotion... when you try to intellectually dissect the anti-abortion argument it falls apart.

The right of the individual is absolute. No government or group can obstruct these rights to personal freedom and choices...

Besides, wouldn't an anti-abortion amendment be the the government trying to control your life.

No, it's the government trying to control a woman'slife. And for some reason the reich-wing guys are okay with that.

Neocons think only white, rich guys shouldn't be controlled 'for their own good'.

I'm a liberal and a mother of two. I do not consider abortions to be political victories. I consider them tragedies, but I will not let my personal opposition to abortion to deny some other woman the right to make that choice. Rush has no children, even though he has been married several times and is of middle age. What choices has he made? He has indulged in hypocricy before, why not now?

liked your post. I am always curious, growing up in the 70s in an...interesting neighborhood...if 6 out of 10 women had abortions...sad but true but don't judge until you know all the facts...I wonder what the odds are that some of these guys had a part in one themselves. We are basically the same age. What choices indeed.

I never want to condemn the women who have abortions. I have only known one woman who had abortions lightly, the other women I have known admitted that they made a difficult choice, but they felt it was the best at that time. I hate to see anyone forced to make that kind of choice. I have been lucky myself, I don't know what I would have done, given the same situation.

      "Political Victory"?!
I can't even begin to comprehend this...I think my brain just stopped.
Um, Rush, it's the law and allowed. Aren't you about no government intrusion?
37% of women respond to this guy? I think that's inaccurate...

wrong again rush. we on the left consider abortion a tragedy. what we consider a victory is a woman having the right to make her own medical decsions. sounds like rush wants congress to dictate a womans medical decsions. sounds like socilized healthcare to me..hmmmmm

How can it be a political victory when, according to Ann Coulter, we keep aborting our base?

How can he say that every abortion is a victory for liberals, doesn't he know there are liberals who are pro-life? I myself am one. Well to an extent, if your opinion can fit on a bumper sticker then chances are you probably haven't thought it out much yet.

I believe that if you are screwing around with your boyfreind and get knocked up then you have made your bed, now lie in it and don't take it out on the kid by killing them. If you aren't up for raising a child then put it up for adoption, I realize it is no where close to being raised by your parents, but it is infinitly better then not having a shot at life in the first place. However that is not to say I don't realize there are circumstances where abortion is necessary. For instance, when the mother's life is in danger or with invitrofertilization. With the latter they obviously put more in than they need and abort the extras later which I still somewhat have qualms with, but take comfort in the fact that the majority of fetuses used for stem cell research come from this kind of procedure.

I realize that it is wrong to take the mother's rights to an abortion away, but you can't do it at the expense of the child. What really needs to happen is not to eliminate abortions all together but to eliminate the need for them. We need comprehensive sex-ed in schools and no more of this unrealistic abstinence crap, easier access to condoms, birth control, and contraceptives. We need to remove this social taboo of talking about sex when it can be done in a productive way.

Wow that was quite a rant, and I will now ready myself for the backlash.
