I always thought this guy was certifiable... now I know it.
Remember when the right wingnutz wanted the MSM to honor our heroes rather than give airtime to Michael Jackson?
How much airtime is being burned up on this completely meaningless exercise?
Sadly, it does make a good distraction from the real problems like giving affordable health insurance to people or solving the economic problems that we are still facing from the recession. The more time this s**t is on the airwaves, less time to inform the public about real issues.
Second, it's not liberals saying these theories are crazy, it's just sane rational people. So if you don't want to lump yourself in there with sane people, that's fine by me. We don't need your crazy over here.
The man was born in frickin' HAWAII! A US STATE!
Get. It. Through. Your. Thick. Skull, and then STFU about this!
Besides, other nut jobs have tried to take this tact before and it really backfired on them.
Isn't it you guys who keep claiming that the country is still conservative?
And you're trying to compare Dan Rather doing a story about how Bush was AWOL (which he got fired for by the way) with people claiming our President isn't a citizen of this country?
They're not even remotely the same.
Do you think Lou Dobbs will be fired for this, as Rather was?
I think not.
Yeah, you're damn right - the 'issue' isn't working for ya, just like all the other dummy 'issues' you morons devised, such as Mustardgate.
Yeah, move on already. How about to Antarctica? You all can then scream about how GW is a lie until the ice breaks from under your feet.
The difference, of course, is that the National Guard story actually had some credibility, but was largely ignored by the MSM (with the notable exception of Dan Rather; and look what happened to him).
A-hole.
The only question is whether President Obama is a US Citizen and eligible to be President. It's like saying, "I believe you're a doctor but why don't you show me your diploma."
Then he goes into the whole medical records thing... as far as I can recall he did show his medical records... the problem was that there wasn't much there because he's healthy... it was just a stark contrast compared to the volumes of medical records that John McCain produced.
Did President Bush address the FEMA Concentration camps? Area 51? Fake moon landing?
; )
"Did you steal the code and the plans?"
"Sure! We stole the code and two pair of plans!"
</Marx Brothers>
It's not the liberal media who are knocking this down. It's the state of Hawaii, by providing the very documentation you're talking about.
About dismissing the wishes of the people, Lou, why aren't you hanging around Congress, yelling about a single payer option? It's clear that's what the people really wanted, and we're not getting it. That at least is a real issue.
On one level, this is all about distraction from the real issues. On another level this is about a soldier too cowardly to serve his country.
I think that there would be no level of "proof" that Obama could provide that would satiate the birthers. No matter what was produced, they'd try to chase something else down, or bring up some other point (Hawaii faked it, the doctor fakes signing it, and so on).
If given actual credence in the real world, this issue would grow to be a monster, and we'd end up spending millions of dollars on it to come the conclusion that sane people already know.
Obama was born in Hawaii.
The one crazy lady at the Mike Castle town hall listening meeting said some awesome things.
I have a birth certificate here [holds up paper protected in Ziploc baggie and tiny American flag], from the United States of America saying I am an American citizen
I have a birth certificate from the County of Orange in California... I didn't realize there was a nationL Birth Certificate.
He is not an American citizen! He is a citizen of Kenya! I am here with my father's [inaudible] fought in World War II, when the greatest generation in Pacific Theater! In the country! And I don't want this flag to change! I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK! [cheers and applause]
Who wants the flag changed? Is there some Flag Changing proposal that I'm unaware of.... this woman is GREAT!!! I bet she's related to that McCain supporter who kept saying that he's a Muslim. I want to expose and profile all these people... and for those who don't think this isn't a racist issue, take a look at the video on youtube and point out those that aren't white or you can find me an African-American birther.
This lady is talking all sorts of crazy. Nobody is changing the country. Nobody is changing the flag. Nobody took her country away from her. She still has all of the same rights and priveledges she did when Bush was President, and maybe more now.
These people are whacked. No 2 ways about it.
It seems to me the birthers are basing their entire argument around the idea that there exists the tiniest amount of uncertainty regarding Obama's birth that inherently exists in nearly any proposition. There are very few things in the entire universe you can prove beyond all doubt and that seems to be the bar here.
I wish this scurrilous tactic were only limited to Obama's birth certificate, but conservatives have used it to fight tobacco legislation, global warming science and many other health and safety regulations over the years.
the state.
Your brain fought valiantly for liberty, but death won again.
I don't have my original birth certificate and I would have been upset if I couldn't get a Passport to take my vacation to the Bahamas... but you know what... the certified copy that I purchased from my County was good enough... but, I guess if I was running for President I'd be in the same boat President Obama is in now.
