His foot's in his mouth up to the ankle now. Do you think he'll shut up once he gets to the knee, or will he devour himself like a hoop snake?

It's sad to see the ridicule that is beseeched this solider. Shameful. Why are these idiots being allowed on TV?

"...the jury of history (if not that of the news media) remains out on George W. Bush's foreign endeavors."

-direct quote from a Ralph Peters USA Today op-ed piece.

So, Ralph (as in puke), why you sticking up for THIS deserter, huh? Even suggesting that someday someone will think President Bush II did one thing right overseas is giving him far more credit than he deserves. You mentioned the dead and dying soldiers, and the lack of media coverage, but you don't point out that they died in a pointless war started by a deserter? Guess that makes you a partisan hack, huh?

The "lack of media coverage" was not because the media didn't want to cover the story, they were prohibited from covering the story by Presidential order. Pictures of caskets returning to Dover AFB were forbidden, and the Administration lied daily about the number of soldiers killed or wounded in Iraq.

In fact, soldiers who were wounded in Iraq, but died after being transported to another country for treatment were not counted as having been killed in Iraq, although the fatal injury happened there. More Dumbya Administration lies.

I'm not surprised the dishonorable, lying Peters left out those important details.

They also tended to omit the wounded in their casualty counts, even though non-fatal wounds are technically casualties. Last I heard, the wounded number in the tens of thousands.

I guess he realizes that his only chance of salvaging his career as a Wingnut Professional Liar is to go for broke, and convince enough Troglodytes that Bergdahl somehow deserves to have his head sawed off.

Maybe if he tells them Bergdahl supports HealthCare Reform...

my god, how stupid is this peters guy. he is still insisting that this caputred soldier is a deserter. he also call him alleged deserter. hey peters, your the only idiot allegeing that he's a deserter. the pentegon has come out and said that they don't think that he is a deserter. and even if he is, there will be pleanty of time to sort that out AFTER he is released. as of now though i feel very bad for this kid, he is a captured soldier that is probably being shown news video from the U.S. saying that the taliban should just kill him and that we don't care. i say we trade this peters guy for the soldier.

An excellent suggestion! Too bad he will never volunteer, as Hannity did about waterboarding.

St. Peters has spoken. He speaks like he has inside information.
I think a little 'waterboarding' session should be held for St. Peters to determine if he is in direct connection with the captors. Other than that, he is guessing. I still think waterboarding is the answer to get to the bottom of this. This Peters creep will go for it. He is a brave man behind a microphone, how about a little water swallowing? And Sean Penn would probably kick this jerks arse.

Speaking of Sean Penn, nobody has apologized to him for the pounding he received for knowing Iraq had no WMDs. For that matter, they never apologized to Scott Peters, either.

What amazes me is that this is the same guy that had been in the past very critical of the cost-plus policies of the Bush administration for Halliburton in Iraq. You can see him interviewed in the documentary, "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers." What happened?

Somebody correct me if I'm off in lala land here, but am I just imagining that Peters is implying that Bergdahl is gay? Says he's lying about some imaginary girlfriend, suggests that ultralib Sean Penn (Got Milk?) would love to play Bergdahl in a movie, if he was younger...

This piece of trash Peters guy is in full-out cya mode, and attempting to smear soldiers to boost his own status is obviously not out-of-bounds.

Nice job. I was wondering about the Sean Penn refference. It makes sense. He does not note that his family and friends were keeping quiet about this. I have not sen any interviews with the parents. Is he even really a son at all? Maybe he doesn't even have a birth certificate. Hopefully someone at Fox will ask Peters why he questions the validity of a girlfriend and why would Sean Penn like to play him in a movie?

He said he sympathizes with the Bergdahl family. He says the media cares about deserters but not the troops who died in Afghanistan. This guy can't help but lie. Lets hope that Bergdahl returns homw alive and if he has to handle military justice so be it. The man was sent to fight in Afghanistan and might have got spooked and left his post. In Ralph Peters mind that is punishable by death. The Right wing has come unglued and are flying off the hinges.

I tend to disagree with you there. In my experience, they've always been like this. It's just that lately - thanks to Faux News - it seems they've become more visible and legitimized.

I think you're right. They were just as loony back in the 90s. They've just gotten better at disseminating their poison, and less self-conscious.

Obama has freaked them out so much that they don't even bother to hide their racism any more.

Try to find a decade when they WEREN'T so loony. They're just encouraged now by the sight of their kindred spirits sharing the spotlight.

You know what would be fun? To refocus that spotlight on some of the lesser-known wingnuts, away from the Hannitys and limpaughs - to see some real good in-fighting develop. We've seen how guano crazy limpaugh gets when he has to share the nutlight. Think Savageweiner and Glenn Beck. Desire for fame is a powerful thing among the wingnuts. I propose that with the right illuminatory management, shifting the focus to get a good harmonic vibration going, we could actually work it up to a full-out wacko smackdown riot.

Here is why I say what I say. If there was a movie made by right wingers that portrayed the president of the United States in a negative light, that president would posses all of Obama's traits. The ultimate boogie man president for wing nuts is a black liberal from an exotice state with a foreign born father who has an arab sounding name. And this picture of their boogie man president was personified when Obama came on the national scene. During the 90's 9/11 had never happened and the Dem president wasn't all that liberal and he was a Southerner and he was not black, despite the adectdotes. The fear and outrage has been turned up to unprecedented levels.

Excellent point. As much as they hated Clinton, he was still just a white-bread Southern boy with an over-active libido... not very threatening.

Obama has awakened their xenophobic paranoia, and it's driving them mad.
