      Whole thing was fun to watch.. Liddy looked like he had a Stroke.. He couldn't speak.. it was odd... He did say he would say he was wrong if proof was to show up... What more proof would he need..

      Liddy never was right in the head. He admits he did way too many drugs, he looks just like your typical alcoholic, all liver perched atop two bandy legs. Sunken, droopy eyes and a sallow complexion. I sure hope when he ends up in an E.R. with all the complications from his reckless life he doesn't stick the American (natural born) with the bill.

        Liddy peddles Human Growth Hormone on his show and his website, giving it "credit" for keeping him "vigorous and potent!" I would say that, these days, Liddy is not the best advertisement for a "fountain of youth" snake oil concoction.

      Doesn't the fact that his mother was unquestionably a citizen cover Obama's citizenship REGARDLESS of where he was born? Liddy looked like he was having a stroke. Or drunk. It is simply shameful that this insane "Birther" movement is growing with people of his stature among righties jumping on board? Rush, Hannity and O'Reilly are no surprise, but now Dobbs and several congressmen. My God this is dangerous.

        Amen. If I had gone into labor in Kenya, delivered my son there, wouldn't my son be an American citizen, because I am? Liddy keeps bringing up "which hospital?" He could have been born at home and still be a citizen. Liddy "they have named two different hospitals." Who is they? One hospital has confirmed he was born there. Is there any proof that Obama's mother was ever in Africa?

      In the interview Liddy mentioned that there is a "deposition" in which Obama's step-grandmother ackowledged that she witnessed Obama's birth in Mombassa. The story I read a while back was that one of the conspiracy loons was writing about the nmatter and arranged a telephone interview with the woman and with a family member serving as an informal interpreter. The phone call, by speaker phone, was lost right after the woman allegedly acknowledged Obama's birth. When the call was re-connected the interpreter said the woman had been confused and misunderstood the question and that she did not witness Obama's birth but had merely seen and met him later. Nevertheless, to my understanding, the myth has persisted and this is what Liddy and the birthers are relying on. If anyone has any infor about this episode I would appreciate your posting references.

        I haven't heard that, I just figured somebody played word games with the woman who either could not speak English, or spoke it as a second language, like they did with the Kenyan ambassador on that morning radio show.

        I did however read some lunatic piece about how Obama had his grandmother murdered for saying that, which is now circulating around the nutjobs commenting on the MMfA videos on Youtube. Worth a laugh.

        Now I don't know too much about Liddy, but he really looks like he should retire. Seems like the poor guy is losing it. He was slow, quiet and forgetful. Not really good traits for today's 24/7 entertainment news media.

          He looked and sounded confused. At times it seemed like he could not comprehend what was being said. It also looked like he would zone out.

          Someone gave him talking points, propped him up (not very up) in the chair and left the poor bastard on his own. I swear I could hear his diaper rattle. ..........OK that's a lie.

        If you click on the "YouTube full audio" link under the allegation marked "A1" halfway down the page, you'll download a Windows Media file that contains the interview with the step grandmother, which is translated in a room full of people over a very bad phone connection.

        Listen to the way the interviewer sucks in his breath as if he's just hit the jackpot after he gets the Grandmother to say "Yes." But don't stop listening, or you'll only hear what the birthers want you to hear.

      First... I'm not fan of Liddy. He's a drooling has been.
      But, what the hell was the point of this? It was hardly a fair fight. It was kind of like watching my crazy old uncle out on a day pass from the nursing home.
      As much as the boobs like Loony Lou and Mortimer are milking this insanity for ratings, I'm starting to get an uneasy feeling after watching this that they're not alone in hitching their show to the crazy wagon.

      Debunking the lunacy is fine, but don't drag old guys who probably don't know what day it is on the show to debate you.

      Just heard Medved on the radio (I'm in reagan country at the moment) and he said ALL CONSERVATIVES should renounce Liddy and the Birth Certificate nonsense, that it makes them all look stupid. I couldn't believe it. But there you go. Oh and Liddy should have rotted in prison, but instead gramps is on the radio.

      Chris Matthews could have knocked the legs out underneath Liddy's argument completely. If President Obama was born in Kenya, his mother did not need to lie to give him the benefits of American citzenship. He would have been eligible for American citizenship even if he was born in Kenya because his mother was a U.S. citizen.

      Now, that might not satisfy the "natural born" citizen wording to become president, but it would have shut up Liddy who was trying to argue that the president's mother lied in 1961.

          It has nothing to do with BLACK. He is of Indonesian culture and citizenry. He was not in Hawaii when Apollo 11 landed on the moon 1969, there he goes again, he was in school in Indonesia. I guess the LIBERAL MEDIA requires a PhD. in Homeland Security, National Security and State Department Affairs from Georgetown University who studied under (beneath the bridge) Ted Kennedy to verify the real birth certificate. I am one of the lunatic idiots-conspiracy theorists who believes Ted Kennedy tried to get Mary Jo Kopechne out of the car because he wasn't drunk or was he ? And Jane Fonda never met with the North Vietnamese either.
          Obama's mother was a left-wing Communist nut job who hated her father naming her "Stanley", anything weird about that ? How many wives did Obama Sr. have ? All this doesn't add up.         Under US immigration law, his mother would have to have been at least 19 years of age at the time. She was only 18.

        Section 301(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended (INA) required the following in 1961:

        "A child being born to one alien parent (i.e.. Non Citizen) and one citizen parent in a marital relationship, required that the sole US citizen parent to have resided in the United States for a period of ten years, five of which must have been over the age of 14."

        14 + 5 = 19

        ...even a liberal should be able to do the math

      Does Chris Matthews know something we don't? He keeps screaming about Obama's mother watching her son during the election and being part of the conspiracy. Is she still alive? All media reports I have read say she died 13 years before the election.

        Matthews apparently was referring to President Obama's Grandmother, Toot, who was very much like a mother to Obama, and was the one who primarily raised him throughout most of his childhood and into his teenage years.

      My God, the convicted felon Liddy is really running out of gas, I thought he may just fall over while trying to talk. Why would anyone with any sense at all care one bit what this old felon thinks? The man is famous for botching up a break in and being convicted of a felony, nobody should care what he thinks, he has no creditability.

      Did he ever get back his right to vote? He should to be sitting on a porch somewhere yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

        In the late '70's or early '80's, my brother was a guest at a wedding, and Liddy was the Best Man. He'd been cellmate of the groom, who was in for running guns to the IRA. When the brother told that story my wife said, "Liddy was the Best Man? Who was the worst one?

            Didn't ask, he didn't tell. I doubt that anyone was likely to fall asleep. (Pass out, maybe) Liddy was, at that time, not the burnt out shell we saw on Hardball. He was more like a grenade with a loose pin. If you ever saw the first Lethal Weapon movie, you'll remember the psycho played by Gary Busey, who showed his commitment to his "mission" by holding his hand over a flame without showing any pain. That is right out of Liddy's bio.

      I am totally against these birther crazies, but in addition to being a US citizen which Obama certainly is, a President must be born on US soil. That is their silly case. Remember there was a similar thing briefly with McCain since he was supposedly born on a US military base. Totally dumb waste of time nonsense.

      Of course, G. Gordon Liddy is not the best interviewee to make this point given his background. However, he makes the same point as many others have. Clear this up Obama! Let the experts examine the original document for evidence of forgery. Ask the newspaper how hard it would be to insert a bogus birth announcement. Somebody explain why the birth was reported at two different hospitals, if that is true. Obama's mother was smart. If she wanted to do this, it would have been easy for her. If anyone want to forge a birth certificate, it would be easy given today's technology. If currency can be forged, why not every other kind of document? If you ask why a parent or a grandparent would go along with such a fraud, why not take a random sample and ask how many people would do the same thing for their offspring to accord them the advantages of American citizenship. After all, pregnant Mexican women brave the elements every day to make the arduous trip to the U.S. so that their babies will be instant citizens. Someone as sophiscated as Obama's mother and grandparents would certainly recognize the same advantage of being a "native born citizen" given his otherwise checkered background.
      There should be a uniform chorus from the right and the left to require Obama to come clean with not only the original of the birth record for expert review but also all the other documents such as passport applications, visas, academic and financial aid records. How much money did Obama spend to suppress this info. This is a freedom of information issue with no national classification for secrecy. The lack of this forthrightness is what generates conspiracy theories.

      During the Watergate fiasco G. Gordon Liddy did not understand the Constitution and today, with his questioning of Obama's citizenship, he still doesn't. He is a pathetic figure and certainly irrelevant. Does such a program truly represent the character of FOX News? If so, it is guilty of knowningly promoting falsehoods to the American public.
