Which, for some odd reason, the likes of Limbaugh and others have been parsing words. They are redefining health care coverage (aka healh care) as doctor care. My health care provider is not my Primary Care Physician, its my insurance company to whom I pay an obscene amount of money to every month and do not see a dime of it back.
So yes, while the Unites States of America may arguably have the best Physicians in the world...we certainly have arguably the worst cost/coverage system for care in the world
big time. ...How can they satisfy Wall Street if they don't?
Is there anyone with a functioning brain about whom that couldn't be said? I know for sure that I'm an "element in this country" that Rush doesn't like, and I take that as a positive character reference.
He doesn't have a chip on his shoulder. ...But you've certainly got your head up your ass.
Sepsis is very good, at throwing stones. He makes thinks look all pink and fuzzy, for conservative values. Oligarchy, is a conservative value that keeps on taking, if allowed to flourish. Sepsis does not have a mirror in his cubicle, otherwise his chevrons would obstruct his arrogance, in the mirror. It is very hard to respect someone in such a deep cavern, of denial.
Obama was asked about the case at a press conference and he responded. He did not just volunteer a comment on the case as you suggest.
Sounds to me like you have a chip on your shoulder about "elitists" at Harvard. I can see that among the right wingers who have achieved nothing more than a high school diploma, such as Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck. Not a whole lot of brain power there...
I have a question for my fine ConLogic thinking friends, do you believe this is the first time this has happened in this country, especially below the Mason-Dixon line?
And why can't someone disrespect a police officer in his own home?
I believe the cop was doing his job...but that job ended when he bumped up against the Constitution. Where are the Conservatives? Individual rights are calling. And to think further, the ACLU may chime in if asked..and before long, Limpy and Seannie will be blaming ACORN.
Do you realize the Press Conference was about to end before Obama got a question about the Professor incident?
The point is, Obama was asked a question and he responded with an answer. Do you believe Obama had intentions on commenting on Gates at a Healthcare meeting? You lose credibility when you say "why else would he even comment on this case".
You worte: "If this was a white guy, would Obama have talked about it?"
If Obama was asked about it, just like he was asked about Gates, I'm sure he would have given an answer. The point you miss is that Obama didn’t offer or solicit the question, he was asked, and again you lose credibility because you make a stupid assumption.
This whole incident is about race and to deny it is to be in denial. The dumbass white cop treated the homeowner like a criminal even after he proved he was who he said he was, AND he ended up arresting the man (charges later dropped further demonstrating who was wrong), This would not happen to a white homeowner, nor would the office keep his job if he did something stupid like that.
You may not want to accept this, but there was NO NEED for the cop to hang around to ask more questions. Had he done something stupid like that to a white homeowner he would have been TOLD to leave his house, but the fact is, the cop would have never treated a white homeowner like a criminal, especially after the truth came out. You know that, and I know that, but you will try to defend the indefensible anyway. These too, erode any credibility you may have had.
That is the key point. There's some debate about the racism aspect. It comes off as racist to me, but it's possible the cop was just out of line for some other reason. What there really doesn't seem to be any question about is that the cop really was out of line. He admitted that he was led to believe that Gates was lawfully in his own home, and this was before he even asked for identification. Based on that alone, there's clearly no reason to continue any confrontation.
I have to think that the police apologists here are motivated by an authoritarian bend, knee-jerk opposition to Obama's conclusion, a racist attitude that black men have to automatically defer to authority figures, or some combination of the three. I'm not seeing any actual justification for Crowley's behavior at all.
Because of his law background?
>>If this was a white guy, would Obama have talked about it?
If this was a white guy he would be Limbaugh and the NRA's latest victim of big government.
If this was a white guy, would it have happened? No.
If this was a white guy, and it happened, would Obama have been asked about it? No.
If someone tried to arrest me in my own home, claiming I was breaking in, I'd be pretty rude too.
President Obama is black!!!!!!!!!! There is a black man in the White House and he has an attitude. Gee, thanks Rush for straigtening that out.
It appears to me, that the person with an issue of a black President is Limbaugh himself. Otherwise, why bring it up?
I'm here to help.
