this is a good stand point. there are numerous arguments in the Health Care Reform initiative that aren't even valid or a part of the initiative. One of those is that government is trying to become "the" provider and the other is that people will "be forced to" give up there current health coverage. Last but not least, the debate is being turned into a pilot of anti-government anything. What the Republicans are arguing is the removal of government and regulations from business so that the same practices which caused our economy to collapse can be perpetrated and the same type of Madoff schemes that cost thousands, for billions, can continue.

They have taken a legitimate discussion into a spin zone of government interference when it is really government protection and relief!

It is nonsense. The conflict of interest there is utterly transparent. Insurance companies exsist to MAKE MONEY FOR THEMSELVES. NOT to provide health care.

Most hospityals are non-profit entities. Doctors charge for services, but that's INCOME, not PROFIT. And I won't begrduge the DRUG-COMPANIES their due of profits, since the engineer the medicines and devices that doctors use to treat us. (IOW - they SUPPORT, and CONTRIBUTE to providing, health care.)

The insurance companies, and their pursuit of profit, does the opposite: They make MORE money, the LESS care they provide. The current model could only work if they were non-profits and required to provide coverage, never drop customers, cover pre-existing conditions, etc...

Awesome points! I think that I will run with this in another lead at some point. Very inspiring and this is a hell of an argument.

Note: No one is asking that representatives of the health industry downgrade in service or pay.
This initiative is to stop government overspending and misuse.

If they wanted coverage or spin offs, how about "GOVERNMENT MISUSE AND FRAUD." How much of that 24 trillion would that be, 8 trillion maybe?

Not sure I follow you on that last line -

If they wanted coverage or spin offs, how about "GOVERNMENT MISUSE AND FRAUD." How much of that 24 trillion would that be, 8 trillion maybe?

The problem is that "misuse" is entirely dependant on who you talk to. One man's "pork" is another man's salary. As for "fraud"... Exceptiong when a few billion mysteriously disappears, unaccounted for, or (perhaps) are found in some dude's freezer I think you'll have a hard time showing (Any)Trillion dollars worth.

I am not sure that it is difficult. You see, when a tide is turned you will see ripple effects. Point is this: If I make most of my money from fraudulent finance schemes, when that section is reformed I will not show such lucrative bank deposits. If I make my money from having my hand in drug transactions, when that industry or section of the world is focused on of which drugs is smuggled in, then I won't have such lucrative bank deposits........

At that point, where I was being successful in passing policies that would allow my interest to swell and accounts to grow, I am haulted. ALl that you have to do is follow the money. In what era do people grow in worth. This will tell you what that individual or group is involved in. Look at the arguments being raised?

Health Care Reform is not being challenged because it is a bad idea, you can see this in the lies they use to argue it. It is being challenged because of the profitting hault it would create to those who pass the policies. Give me a calculator and some figures and I can show you the amount.

The President is under seige about Health Care because of his war on drugs which is real and active, and his investigation and revisiting of policies that are inept, to say the least. He is tampering with the sophisticated method of embezzlement, OOPS, I mean government sanctioned!

GIVE ME SOME FIGURES AND A CALCULATOR AND I WILL POINT YOU DIRECTLY IN THE PATH OF WHAT IS USEFUL, WHAT IS MISUSED, AND WHAT CAN BE SALVAGED. SOMEWHERE IN THE LINES OF 3 TRILLION- 8 TRILLION.
