From the July 27 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks' Glenn Beck Program:

BECK: And let me tell you something.  This ties directly into--this is a) community organizing.  These are thugs.  We are creating a thugocracy.  And mark my words, if you don't stand up now, you will run out of time.  They will gather strength and you will not be able to stand against them.

There's a couple things that come to mind on this.  One, they're gathering strength and they're going inside our government.  Their chief organizer is the president of the United States.  SEIU is part of ACORN.  ACORN and SEIU -- stop separating them in your head.  They are the same group of people.  SEIU is the one that is pushing health care through. They're the ones that met with the drug companies.  They're the ones -- these are the people that are strong-arming.  When Wal-Mart decides to meet and decide on whether or not they're for health care, who meets with them?  SEIU.  These people are thugs.

Please don't let this message fall on deaf ears.  Please.  I fear that there will come a time when I cannot say things that I am currently saying.  I fear that it will come to television and to radio, and I will stop saying these things.  Understand me clearly.  Hear me now.  If I ever stop saying these things, you will know why.  Because I will have made a choice that I can only say certain things, and I haven't lost all of the rights. But know that these things are true.  And if you hear me stop saying these things, it's because I can no longer say them to you.  But hear them between the sentences.  Hear them, please.  I will be screaming them to you.

It's a damn shame and a black mark on the intellect of the american media market that he hasn't been silenced already, simply by the market dismissing him as a kook.

Good lord. When will these people stop using their 3 hours of daily airtime to claim that they are being "silenced?"

It is utterly amazing isn't it?

He gets what? 3 hours of radio time, and another hour on TV at night, and he's worried about being silenced? Silenced by Obama. Silenced by the Fairness Doctrine. Silenced by the voices in his head.

Jeesh.. These guys are simply pathetic.

I found it hilarious that Rush went on TV last week to talk about his opposition to all things Obama. Doesn't he have a radio show where he does that already? Why bring him on TV? It's like when Hannity or O'Reilly bring on Beck, and others who have already had their say during the day. It's like one big gigantic conservative bloviating circle jerk.

Where to begin...The only disreputable connections between ACORN and the SEIU are in Beck's drug addled mind as are his beliefs that the government is going to shut him up.

Local 880’s Department of Labor financial filings from 2005 show a pattern of loans and payments to ACORN-run organizations:

A loan receivable from SEIU Local 100, which started the year at $11,500 and ended the year at only $500—a note shows the loan wasn’t repaid in cash, but rather “reduced to in-kind service”
“Gifts” totaling $151,694 to the L880 Political Action Committee, which is run out of ACORN’s Louisiana office Local 880 received $36,425 as a “contractual fee” from the L880 Political Action Committee Representational activities included $6,388 in non-itemized payments to the Chief Organizer Fund (Chief Organizer is Rathke’s title for most of his positions) at ACORN’s office and $66,870 in non-itemized payments to Citizens Consulting Inc., ACORN’s multi-use organization $177,430 paid to Citizens Consulting for “Accounting and Administrative Support” and non-itemized transactions for “General Overhead” $10,102 paid to Citizens Consulting for “Union Administration”

so by your logic, i gave money to the obama campaign. does that now mean that obama and I are the same person? just because two seperate groups have financial dealings does not mean they are the same group. after all, most companies give money to both parties. does not mean they have ties.

These were loans (loans that were never paid back) and services not contributions. They by their nature business arrangements/transactions and would mean they have Ties. Whether or not the ties are relevant or not would be speculation but the fact is they do have ties together.

The point is that there are defiantly ties between these two organizations. To deny that is just disingenuous.

2 chapters out of thousands. Again to paint the whole SEIU as corrupt because 2 chapters have ties to ACORN, is also disingenuous.

There's not a lot this shrieking manchild doesn't fear. In fact, all the goofy "we surround them" crocodile tears seem to have disappeared entirely. Now it's wall-to-wall howling about all of his imaginary ACORN conspiracies (which, of course, his viewers take to mean "Black people are coming to get you", just like he intends). I would say Beck is the most depressing stand-up comedian ever, but then I remember Dane Cook is still out there. Assuming, of course, they're not time-jumping versions of each other.

I will give Dane the benefit of the doubt. At least he admits what he does is simply an act. Glenn seems to actually believe himself.

i think beck needs to spell out what he means when he tells his nut case listeners to "stand up". he needs to remember, we did stand up in november. so when he tells them to stand up, does he mean to overthrow the govenment somehow? has anyone else noticed how beck, rush, hannnity, ect. seem to spend alot of time being afraid? must really suk to go thru your whole life being such a coward that your scared of pretty much anything that falls outside of your world view.

What a load of self-important twaddle! They may try to silence him for telling the truth. I once witnessed a psychotic break episode in public, this woman was shreiking that "they were out to get" her and we, the crowd, "would never see" her again, as they rolled the cot away. It was true, I never did see the woman again, but I have no doubts that she was off her rocker and her meds and needed to be taken away for her own good. When will they come for Glenn?

He's not even entertaining. If you're going to be a drooling idiot and get paid for it, the least you can do is be entertaining.
But noooo, not our pretty Becky. It's ACORN this and ACORN that. People listen to this crack-fueled psycho and find value in what he says?

It's like listening to a guy who just broke up with his girlfriend. At first you think maybe what he's saying might have some validity. But as he goes on and on and on about the ex, you realize that he's nuts and the girlfriend is better off without him. Same thing here. The more Becky goes on and on and on about ACORN you realize he's just nuts, not even close to being entertaining... and America would be better off without him.

I still don't see how community organizers and service employees are going to destroy America. Glenn is going to have to try harder to convince me on that one.

I don't understand how Beck can go on the radio and urge people to "stand up now" to the "thugs" running our government who are going to silence him and then be completely shocked when someone points the finger at him after some nutjob who listens to his show starts shooting cops because they're coming to take his guns away.
