Actually, Dobbs is using the "some people say" defense to claim he's not a buford...er, birther.

I have not watched her show yet but this segment was great. GOP congressmen(and women) too scared to upset the (insert adjective) fringe that constitutes the heart of their party these days! Priceless.

I like Rachel, she is really funny, especially when she is being nerdy. She has also been very serious about some issues. She has been doing work on the C Street Family which is a group of Congressmen who live and pray together. People like John Ensign and Mark Sanford have belonged, and the C Streeters knew about the affairs they were involved in but did nothing. Check out her show on-line.

Seems Ms. Maddow is assisting little Lou’s bolus to hopefully protude into the mainstream light of broadcasting’s audience. Hope it don’t smell too much. Or perhaps Lou could hack it out all by himself?

Maddox is the out of control media hack, not Dobbs. Dobbs is one of the few honest journalists on television. It figures the crazy left wing media would target him for reporting what is a legitimate story. How hard is it to show a birth certificate? That would put this all to rest, but Barry Hussein has other ideas. The left fringe is angry that President Socialist's agenda is crumbling from the weight of its own debt. The open borders crowd also hates Lou Dobbs as well. Time to vote out all the incumbent idiots and end the tyranny of the Democratic/Republican party. Time to stop selling out America to those who would despoil and abuse her.

My memories of VM were of my Grandparents house where I would look at a reel of waterskiers doing a show somewhere in the Everglades. I would imagine finding reels these days is quite the hobby.

Exactly, Patriot. How hard is it to show a birth certificate? Why can't Obama simply present more documentation, even though he's already provided all legally necessary proof of his citizenship and birth in the United States?

It's kind of like this Gates character! I mean, really, how hard is it to just go down to the station and answer a few questions even though he's already proven that the house in which he's standing is his own? He could have put the whole matter to rest if had just quietly submitted to harassment.

Remember from the conservative standpoint you shouldn't have anything to hide if you're not guilty and be ready to submit yourself to the authority of the proper authorities or the lynch mob...especially if you are a liberal. This does not apply to people who support conservative pet issues however...guns, health care, abortion, gay marriage, etc...

President Obama has already given the (to quote you) "The Legally Necessary Proof of citizenship." Why should he indulge these nuts more and there's nothing he can produce that will satisfy them.

As far as Mr. Gates... he wasn't asked to go the police station, he was arrested. I believe it to be a false arrest, but it's not up to me to decide that, it's just an opinion.

As far as your last comment, why should we have to put up with harassment?

If a police officer pulled you over for no apparent reason and after you showed him your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance...

what if he asked you for an electric bill so he could verify your home address?
what if he then asked to see your auto maintenance records?
          search your vehicle?
          search you personally?

At what point does the police officer cross the line?
At what point did the birther's cross the line?

If you don't stand up for yourself how will you ever know?

The birther's are public citizens and have the right to say whatever craziness they wish to spew and the government can't do anything to infringe upon their 1st amendment rights.

Gates is a citizen and has the same protections that the birthers have against the government... in this case the Cambridge Police department.

        Get a grip crazy man.

Obama is a citizen, it's been proven time and again. There is no legit question surrounding his place of birth, only the people who will never believe that he was born in America believe this, and that includes you.

Dobbs is NOT an honest news person, not even close. He's telling lies on a daily basis, and it's not just the liberals in the media who are attacking him, there is a rather long laundry list of conservative media icons who are also calling him out on his BS.

Let me guess. You're a Ron Paul supporter right?

I don't think the birthers even believe what they are saying. It is the usual Swiftboating. Pretend that the official documents are false and then keep moving the goalposts as far as what they will accept. They get to slime the opposition while never actually proving anything.

These repugs and wingnuts should just come out and admit that it has nothing to do with President Obamas birth certificate.
The fact that hes black and the POTUS is what its all about.
I suggest the wingnuts get used to it. With all the crazy unimportant crap that the repugs come out with, Obama will be living in the whitehouse for seven and a half more years.

Hawaii again declares Obama birth certificate real

By JAYMES SONG, Associated Press Writer Jaymes Song, Associated Press Writer – Tue Jul 28, 1:54 am ET

HONOLULU – State officials in Hawaii on Monday said they have once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen, and therefore meets a key constitutional requirement for being president.

They hoped to stem a recent surge in the number of inquiries about Obama's birthplace.

"I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen," Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said in a brief statement. "I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago."

So-called "birthers" — who claim Obama is ineligible to be president because, they argue, he was actually born outside the United States — have grown more vocal recently on blogs and television news shows.

This won't be good enough for them, and you know it.

They'll claim this guy was paid off by Obama to hush it up. Someone "independent" needs to review the birth certificate (failing to mention of course, Factcheck.org, and others already have).

I think indeed, sadly, but truly, it really is boiling down to a racial thing. A lot of these birthers can't stand that a black man is President, so they'll try and find any way, shape, or form possible to bring up questions about his presidency.

The only way this goes away is if everyone ignores it. All you can do is provide proof, then state that proof has been provided. At that point, all that is left is "no comment". The longer people answer questions when a mike is shoved in their face, the longer this lasts. When the only voices out there saying anything about it are the birthers, their words will eventually disappear into the vacuum. When their words no longer get traction, this will go away.

From this point forward, I wish that the (legitimate) media would turn away from covering this, and that anybody involved in providing proof (State of Hawaii officials, factcheck.org, etc.) simply state that the issue has been resolved.

      9/11 conspiracy theorists
      FEMA Concentration Camps

Never before have I seen representatives of our government give even tacit credence to these nut jobs. Are the republicans so desperate that they don't even want to alienate the crazy faction of their party? I guess I know the answer to that.
