Levin still seems to have a massive 'Boehner' over Nancy Pelosi. What's the matter, Marky, the wifey's getting to be boring these days?

I wonder why these guys always seem so personally offended when they find a woman unattractive. Oh, right: a combination of extreme narcissism and misogyny. How'd I forget that one?

These guys never do unto others as they would want done to them. This is the Speaker of the House you are talking about and you purport to love this country. While you may disagree with her, calling her out on looks disrespects the tenets in which the country stands on. Right? Traitors.

        Indeed.

You don't like her policies, and her positions? Fine. Call her out on those aspects of her platform.

Don't like how she's running the House? Again, fine, call her out on her leadership abilities.

Calling someone out on how they look, ESPECIALLY when you're Mark Levin (the face made for radio) is ironic, and hillarious all at the same time.

This clip is a form of masturbation. Both Levin and Hannity are stroking their own egos on the air, but that's obvious. What is less obvious is that it provides the listeners with an opportunity to do the same thing. It's a sort of mass legitimization of ignorance. "All of us can't be wrong. Right?"

Except they are wrong. The fact that Levin uses the phrase "in my opinion" should mean to everyone that he can't and won't substantiate the claim he's made or will make. In fact, "In my opinion" should be the name of his show.

Opinion is the illegitimate child of discourse. It's the common denominator and using it is the sign of weakness. And Levin is weak.

All of them do that. Rush, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, every last one of them always start or end their rhetoric with 'In my opinion' or 'That's what I think'.

Precisely. It's designed to convince their listeners that popular opinions are legitimate, no matter what kind of factual opposition, if not disprovability, is available. Everyone should remember that in politics opinion means nothing without solid facts.

I think you're on the right track. Rightie talkers and their listeners have a covenant to support their misguided opinions. Their concepts don't survive by virtue of their validity, but by their fraternity.

But that's why I have to disagree - it's not masturbation, it's a circle jerk.

While I agree that most of right wing ideology rests on opinion, emotion and feelings (which is why they constantly try to frame liberal ideas that way), they put a lot of effort into presenting their opinions as fact.

Hannity is one of the funniest. It may be more stupidity than a calculated trick, but if you listen to his show, he uses a lot of screwy phrases like "The fact is, that, in my opinion...".

Hannity is also a merciless abuser of the word "literally", often applying it to metaphors and the most emotional hyperbole.

Try the Hannity/Literally drinking game. You won't walk out on your feet.

I'd also like to add that we average guys shouldn't be so quick to judge Levin. Understand that an Adonis like The Grate One has an entirely different perspective on beauty after waking up to his glorious reflection in the mirror every day.

Well, anybody who is willing to admit his physical inferiority to Mark Levin is far from chicken, Col, and I salute you. Saaaa-lute. It just goes without saying that we all could use a lesson or two about personal appearance from him. After all, it was his attention to his dapper presence that got him into radio.

Oh Boy, these guys can dish it out but their always the first to cry "oh,oh, your playing the "race" card, or you 'libruls' resort to name calling and insults when you don't have an argument!" It's like their able to erase that part of their memory. It allows them to argue all sorts of weird stuff! Like where fighting for democracy in Iraq! We can fix the country by doing the same things that messed it up in the 1st place. The birthers are to the Conservatives what bringing Bush officals to justice over torture is to Democrats?!?! We can call you unpatriotic ugly and call for the murder of an American soldier by the Taliban, but you don't support the troops?!?!? Remember when Wolf Blitzer mentioned Liz Cheney and her baby to Daddy Dick and his verbal lashing of Wolf. "That's out of bounds" he chastised Blitzer for trying to do his job! I mean how do you reconcile denying rights to not only your daughter but other gays and lesbians that don't have the privalege of power, and at the same time say you love her and her child. What a bunch of hyprocrites!
