I find the comparison of bufords to bat guano insulting to bat guano.

When you think about it, bat guano is produced by bats. Bats are mammals who live in caves, hang upside down, and only come out at night.

Sounds like a pretty fair description.

"Is it ignorance, and can you change ignorance?"

Watching Lou Dobbs, the answer is "apparently not".

Thier back... it's just like the wacko far out stuff these people tried in the late nineties with Clinton. Hey I do have to give them credit they know enough to stay away from discussing important things like policy. Scary thing is there is enough "ignorant" people for this stupid non starter to get traction!!!

This whole flap is about a lot more than a bunch of drooling racist loons. The bigger story is what this says about the Republican party and their disappearing support.

Only a party in real deep trouble plays to its fringe. The fringe may produce a small pocket of support, but embracing it also drives away those people in the middle. By championing lame legislation or remaining silent on this issue, the Republicans gain some loons at a huge cost down the road.

The Republican have misplayed the numbers game so badly that I'm starting to wonder of they can avoid an even larger electoral defeat in 2010.

Birthers have ALOT of clout in the Republican Party, huh? Wow, Americans now can see how Republicans really create Bills on Capitol Hill by falling to groups like the Birthers.

So just to be clear - Republicans got their marching orders from this small, conservative, right-winged group in creating a Bill on Capitol Hill to show their support that President Obama was not born in America. This Bill does affect only the Birthers, "NOT" the million upon million of Americans. Oh, gotcha. Wink, wink. These Birthers got major "clout" and the Republican Congressmen in Senate and House jumped real quick to their demands. Hmmmm. LOL

This was very good and aggressive reporting and more of it needs to be done. Our democracy cannot operate as a democracy if the citizens are not provided the truth. US Congressional representatives are charged with the public trust to honestly and fairly represent the people. Those who perpetual lies and falsehoods must be exposed, expeditiously dispatched and replaced. After 8 years of this mess, it's time we tolerate it no longer.
