      Good grief! Here is a news item: Obama *has* released his birth certificate. The form he released is good enough to prove you are a US citizen. The long form is not regularly available. The form he released states he was born in Honolulu and Janice Okube, the director of health in Hawaii, has stated it is valid.

      End of argument, unless you want to (1) fan the flames (2) blame the *left* (as these two clowns do), for fanning the flames.

        If someone born in Hawaii requested a certified copy of his birth certificate from Hawaii's Dept. of Health what he would receive would be exactly the same as what Obama posted on his website last year...it's a freakin' "birth certificate" regardless of what other terminology that may be used. You can use it to obtain a passport or for any other legal purpose. Why is that so freakin' hard to understand?

        First, these morons said what Obama posted was doctored in photoshop. That was debunked by no less than World Net Daily. Then they said you can obtain a Hawaiin "birth certificate" if your parents were residents but you happened to be born elsewhere. True...but that's not what Obama's birth certificate is. It says he was born in Hawaii, just as the original on file says...and which has twice been confirmed by the State of Hawaii.

        What is freakin' wrong with these people. Can hatred make people that stupid? Apparently so.

        Just being a citizen doesn't automatically make you eligble to become President - You must be a "natural born citizen". OK - Let's assume BHO was born in Hawaii. He gets his citizenship from his mother. I believe the law says the mother had to live continuously for five years after she was 16 in the USA before the birth - she was 18? at the time of the birth. She was too young to convey her citizenship to her son. We know his dad was Kenyan and carried a British passport. We know Ann later married an Indonesian guy called Soetoro in 1967 and moved to Indonesia. We know BHO(Barry Soetoro) enrolled in school as an Indonesian Citizen and a Muslim. He was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, therefore becoming an Indonesian citizen. He had opportunities to declare his loyalty to the USA and re-establish his US citizenship before he turned 16, but there's no evidence of that. Also that would have made him ineligble for "foreigh student grants" By adopting Indonesian citizenship he either became Indonesian or a dual citizen - Either would block him from being declared a "natural born citizen". We know that he registered in Occidental College as an Indonesian foreign student - So he was either an Indonesian or commiting fraud (a felony). Did he recieve grant and scholarship funds at Harvard and other institutions by claiming foreign student status? Is that why he has spent about a million dollars on lawyers to block the release of birth and school documents?

        His Kenyan grandmother and others(including the Kenyan Ambassador to the US) stated on tape that they knew BHO was born in Kenya and Grannie says she was present at the birth. No witness, nurse, doctor, or any hospital personnel in Hawaii have come forward to verify he was born there. Where's the long form Certificate of Birth? Hawaiian law in 1961 allowed people to register live births in Hawaii even if the kids were not born there. There was no computer-generated short form then.
        Native born Hawaiians need a long form certificate to get any land or other priveleges reserved for the indigenous population - the short form isn't accepted. What does that tell you about the short form?
        We've all got a lot invested in this guy. We deserve some answers whether we like them or not.
        Some Democratic Senators(Leahy)questioned John McCain's eligibility to be PreZ because he was born in Panama to US parents who were serving there in the US military. They vetted him - he passed. Why didn't BHO get the same courtesy?
        If BHO is the real deal - all he has to do is open the birth and school records. But then he would have wasted $ 1,ooo,ooo in campaign funds you contributed.
        You don't have to be a deep thinker or Harvard grad to wonder what the hell's going on.

          The whole deal about Obama's mom being required to be living in the US for 5 years after the age of 16 is bogus. That rule only applies when a baby is born outside the US. Only then, does one parent have to be a US citizen and also reside in the US for 10 years, where 5 are after the age of 16 to preserve US citizenship. Since Barack Obama was born in the US, neither parent even has to be a citizen at all. The only requirement is that the baby be born on US soil according to the Forteenth Amendment: "all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States."

            Don't bother skiploader. Everyone with an ounce of sense knows how to 5 year rule applies. This moron is purposefully not understanding it for political purposes. It is disgusting and hilarious that he would argue against Obama's natural born citizenship by saying I voted for the American when McCain was born in Panama. Clearly, the moron runs deep on this one.

          Regardless what may be required for indigenous natives of Hawaii to qualify for special benefits, Hawaii says it no longer issues long form (Certificate of Live Birth) birth certificates. I've read the law. What Barack Obama produced is what anyone would receive if they requested their birth certificate from the State of Hawaii. There is nothing deficient about it...it can be used for any legal purpose, including obtaining a passport. The fly in the ointment here is that you people are just freakin' nut cases. Obama won the election...get over it.

          Since when can someone under the age of sixteen make a legally binding declaration of any kind?

          Please don't be offended and please continue to participate in the debate. With luck, this can be continued until the only ones willing to admit to being Republicans are Sarah Palin and Orly Taitz.

            I can't believe I read that myself. That's even dumber than the same rule applying to children born out of the country. What possible difference can the age of the mother make?

Two translators were on the line when McRae asked if the elder Obama was "present" when the president-elect was born. One of the translators says "yes." McRae contacted Berg and gave him a partial transcript of the call with a signed affidavit. He opted not to include the rest of the call, in which he asks the question more directly -- "Was he born in Mombassa?" -- and the translators, finally understanding him, tell him repeatedly that the president-elect was born in Hawaii."

          Furthermore as evidenced from a topic here at MMFA:

          "But as The Economist points out, McRae also released the full audio, in which the key parts of the conversation can be heard. Here's part of it. (The other person speaking is translator Vitalis Akech Ogombe.)"

          MCRAE: When I come in December. I would like to come by the place, the hospital, where he was born. Could you tell me where he was born? Was he born in Mombasa?

          OGOMBE: No, Obama was not born in Mombasa. He was born in America.

          Actually, no. That law did not take effect until some 20 years AFTER Obama was born. You really need to walk away from the birther sites.

        No end of argument: Andy Martin has a pending lawsuit in Hawaii to produce Obama's BC.

        Martin says Monday's admission by Hawai'i health officials that the state still maintains secret files on Obama makes asses out of Bill O'Reilly, CNN "researchers" and the CNN news managers that tried to intimidate Lou Dobbs. Hawai'i officials admitted (confessed?) on July 27th they still maintain secret files on Obama that have not been opened to the public. Martin has a pending lawsuit seeking public access to these historical archives in Hawai'i State custody. Martin says the latest disclosure by Hawai'i that the secret files still exist is going to explode the controversy and corrode support for Obama's presidency. Since filing his lawsuit in 2008, Martin has become a candidate for U. S. Senator in Illinois in 2010.

      Why, in the name of all that is good and holy, do they want his college records. Bernie gets the question all wrong. It is not "what is he hiding in them?" The real, and most important question is "why do you want to see them?"

      And the answer to the question that this is all about: President Obama cannot release the so called long form vault copy Birth Certificate. That is not within his capabilities. So, he has released the next best thing, the COLB.

      This issue has been settled again and again and again. And you know what, Bernie. This is bad for the conservatives. Because as long as some segment of the high profile GOP/Conservatives do not explicitly denounce this idiocy, it will hurt them. And the White House will let that happen. As they should.

          Orly Taitz, the grandmother of the birther brigade, was interviewed on "The Colbert Report" the other night. She claimed that president Obama has been using a Social Security number issued to a man who would be 190 years old today.

          The first Social Security number was issued in 1936. 73 years ago. That would mean that the 190 year guy who was originally issued that number would have been at least 117 years old when he received that number sometime after November, 1936, when the first number was issued.

      My letter to Lou Dobbs:

      Dear Mr. Dobbs:

      I just wanted to say that I agree with you. I'm not a birther because that's just silly, but all President Obama has to do to end this controversy once and for all is admit that he was born in Kenya and that he isn't eligible to be President, and step down in disgrace as the evil usurper he is. That's all he has to do, and the controversy will be over. But he won't do it, and that proves it. Only someone who was born in Kenya would hide his Kenyan birth certificate, and only an evil usurper would pretend that he isn't evil. You never saw George W. Bush or Dick Cheney go around pretending they weren't evil. If Obama wasn't evil, he wouldn't go around pretending he isn't evil, and if he wasn't born in Kenya, he wouldn't go around pretending he wasn't born in Kenya.

      Whatever happened to "investigative journalism"?

      Goldberg and Dobbs are protecting their image through this demand for evidence that is already out there. Obama IS an American, and when that get proven, Dobbs and Goldberg will chuckle to themselves and say, "See? I told you he was an American."

      Let's take a hypothetical here and say that a Pandora's box was opened where there was a case where the President was not an American. Dobbs and Goldberg would then chuckle to themselves and say, "See? Our suspicions were correct, and we deserve a Pulitzer for our coverage!"

      Either way, Dobbs is trying to revive his career by pandering to both sides of the coin. There's a difference between being "unbiased" and being "bigoted".
