Limbaugh, Beck and Malkin are coarse people...and coarseness is just another conservative "value" which is honored along with other conservative values such as racism, hatred and divisiveness. Conservatism is a character flaw.

Homosexuality isn't a character flaw...but pretending you're not gay when you really are, and supporting anti-gay legislation, is a character flaw.

This is absolute crap, and you two kids should, I stress SHOULD be ashamed. Sadly, I know you are not.

You can't talk about the issue, so you take to defaming the faceless "conservative".

I happen to be a strong conservative, and know that you hateful comments are far off base.

Let's try and raise the discourse here...

Let's discuss the racism inherit in the country. Let's discuss our rascist president. Let's discuss the race baiters on the left. Let's discuss the rascists on the right. But keep the discussion to facts, not crap.

I would be embarrassed to make that assertion if I were you. And if you believe the President is a racist I think you should crawl back into your hole with the rest of the right wing miscreants and flagellate each other with more of your paranoid, delusional wingnuttery. Conservatism today is indeed a character flaw.

After all Lou Dobbs called Rachel Maddow "queen of the teabaggers" so how will they interpret "flagellate each other with more of your paranoid, delusional wingnuttery." ?

I can see deliveries from Frederick's of Hollywood, being delivered to the C-Street condos now.

I'm sure they would like to cross dress before they "flagellate each other" with great gobs of "paranoid, delusional wingnuttery."

You continue on with "you two two kids", and say, once again, you want to have an intelligent discussion on race?

You end you post by calling the president a racist, and yet YOU STILL claim to want an intelligent discussion?

Did you ever stop to think that the reason YOU can't have an intelligent discussion on race is because YOU'RE NOT capable of having an intelligent discussion?

The presence of first four elements of the equation in the modern conservative movement are self-evident...and therefore I have neither the desire nor intention to debate that point.

God, I'm so sick of these hard-done-by right wingers like jstephens.

You say let's try and raise the discourse and oh, by the way, Obama is a racist. Great start. I feel elevated already.

So for some demented reason you think Obama is a racist. Fine.
              Prove it.

Saying the cop acted stupidly won't do it because the cop did. Nope, point to an article Obama's written, a speech he's given that makes it clear Obama hates whites. And don't throw a couple of quotes around as proof or bring up Rev. Wright. That's not good enough.

Prove it. Show us solid real proof.

You dwellers on the right are remarkable.
You wrap yourself up in the flag and prance around proclaiming what great patriots you all are, but the moment things don't go your way, the moment you lose power, you lose all sense of loyalty to your country.

You hope the president (and by extension the country) fails. You gleefully oppose progress on any level while failing to offer your own solutions. You're comfortable calling the leader of your country a racist and questioning his right to lead while offering no substantive proof. You savage a highly experienced judge with unproven innuendoes and batter her over and over for four words she spoke. You claim to be the true guardians of the nation when the greatest failure of national security rests forever in your hands. You talk tough about war while most of your leaders ran in the other direction when faced with serving in a war. You have defiled the Constitution while claiming to support it. You yammer on about the sanctity of life, but seem content with executions and the murders of people you don't like. You bleat about family values and then become silent when your leaders fail to live up to your own standards. You market fear at every turn because fear is all you have to offer.

So, jstephens, pony up your solid proof that Obama is a racist. Give us facts... not crap.

I can't begin to understand the mindset of people that would rather keep their extra money to eat out, buy all the latest crap and redecorate every other year than help people who live in their own community who are struggling to properly feed and educate their kids, get proper healthcare and live in suitable housing. And most of these people profess to be Christians. I'm baffled. Try giving of yourself rather than always taking. I find it hilarious when people finger minorities as racist. The majority race in America has enjoyed decades of looking down on the other races in America, yet once they find themselves on the other side of the fence, they immediately brand any opinions against whites as racism.

Indeed, let us raise the discourse--

"all men are created equal, and are entitled to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness--

what underlays this but the question of Freedom vs Equality,
              the integration of antithetical ideas?

These picayune smears, this whispered, "I am better than you"

when winds the whirlwind to this part:

              Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
              Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Look closely at the Fools; what do they preach but order, and intolerance? If we are to aspire to a democracy is such rhetoric not anathema?

The discourse is not how we shall be ruled by fear, some bunker mentality that excludes all but the precious few,
a discourse that sends the feeble and the weak trembling to their bed each night because the narrow minded position of some submerged bigot is threatened.

Oh, yes--raise the discourse--let us begin where the founders left it, squarely on each generation's shoulders to make it better, to bring us another step closer to a place where difference does not matter.

I am addressing anyone with an objective mind-set. Conservative, liberal, and independents are not welcome. Your ignorance is embarrassing, to me.

      [Suspend color, just the facts!]
Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. was returning from a trip. Tired, no doubt. Someone called a professional(the police), about a possible crime.
A professional police officer, with profiling expertise, responded to the scene. (I imagine the police officer can read.) Dr. Gates handed the officer identification. Being a local police officer, he knows what college identification looks like.

Here is where everyone else, that I asked not to chime-in, gets stupid.

The police officer is responsible for the potential crime scene, and when he read the identification card, the tension would have been defused. The cop got bossy. He lost his temper, with a minority. He acted stupidly.

Pres. Obama may not understand it, but I do. There are thousands, with profiling skill, and experience, that would have concluded what I have shared.

If the economy was up, these incidents would not be happening. Who caused the recession, and the market to drop?
Why are they blaming someone else, if they were in control?

These, and many other questions are easily answered, but never addressed. It is no wonder, to me.

I am mostly liberal, but I am objective in viewing the facts, but subjective in my opinions - there is no other way to opine. I agree with your perception of what happened. You left out that Dr. Gates also got snippy (likely because this isn't nearly the first time he has felt humiliated because someone assumed something about him that isn't true based on his skin color - again, "likely" and "he felt" that is subjective - you and I don't know what either of these men were thinking. But I think, that's me opining, that both of them acted in a tense situation from past experience, that's called adaptation and it's how we survive as a species, and let their base emotions override their higher functioning processes.

Who was more wrong? The officer! He is trained to deal with irate people. He is in this man's own home! He knows that this man is innocent of illegal activity. He knows that it is time for him to acknowledge the inconvenience and leave. But, Noo! Because Dr. Gates is upset by this - step off, there, black man, I'm just doin' my job - the officer feels unjustly accused of profiling, which he didn't do since he had no idea what race the person was until Dr. Gates answered the door. What is the officer's sin: being unprofessional, at the very least, at worst, feeling emasculated because a black man questioned his conduct. The officer may think black people are generally criminals and it's their own fault they get profiled. Or somewhere in between. That's what I think, but then, I don't know this officer, do I?

You can be diplomatic all you want but history, reality and common sense is what’s needed here and color CAN NOT BE SUSPENDED.
You never hear of a reverse scenario under the same circumstances. How can a black officer justify arresting a white scholar in his home without a crime taking place? Especially after a misunderstanding was establishment? Do you think a black officer would enrage the man or apologize and leave?
See why you can’t “suspend color”.

Here’s another reason why your diplomatic approach is not reasonable:

Unless you were born in some far off distant land, you should know a racist cop by his actions, and this is clearly a racist cop.
This idiot did what all racist cops do when dealing with black people; they walk on their rights, incite them and treat them like criminals. This is exactly what this officer did.
The homeowner did nothing unlawful or wrong. How often do you hear a white man hailed off to jail under those circumstances? It doesn't happen because police respects their rights. Racist cops do not respect blacks’ rights and they treat them like criminals instead. This cop is no different than the typical racist cop. Any man has a right to be upset in his own home, especially after he cooperates with the officer. He does not have to cooperate with a smile. Once he proved to the officer he was the homeowner, there was no need to continue being interrogated by anyone (or asked to come outside). The cop should have left the man’s house, like he would have done if it was a white homeowner. Racist cops don’t give a damn about right, wrong, common sense or logic when dealing with black people, they just want a result they are contempt with, and the hell with the citizen.
All you people who play dumb, know a black cop could not incite a white man in his own home and arrest him too, yet you will try to rationalize and justify a white cop no matter what he does to a black man.

I don't believe that these "on air personalities" really believe what they are saying. They don't really have their own opinions on any subject, they just go on these tirades because it gets them noticed.

Michelle Malkin wouldn't have a chance in hell of getting on any program if she didn't spout these ridiculous ideas. Beck, Rush, and others would have been long gone by now if they talked about the world as it really is instead of how they want us to believe it is. There is no belief system at work here, just a desire to get the big bucks and keep their fat faces on TV and Radio.

The bigger game at work here, is the gang of devils that used to be in the Bush administration, the neo-cons, the world order folks who see Obama as a pediment to their plans. In their world, getting everyone on opposite sides is a win for them - "look over here, see them trash the US - hate them for what they are doing" As long as we are divided, we won't notice what they are up to and they will be free to do what they think is best for them (which is a government for the rich, by the rich, and without interference from anyone not in their rich circle). The disaster after Katrina was a test case for them - where there is destruction, there is opportunity for them, why save the lives of those that won't help their cause.

The other guiding force behind all this "Obama is a racist" talk is the hope that someone out there, who is a faithful listener; will take it upon themselves to take a shot at the President in the name of patriotism, to save the country from this tyrannical dictator. They are fanning the flames and all they need is one lost soul who will act upon their rhetoric. It wouldn't be their fault, would it?

I don't necessarily believe that Rush, Beck, Malkin, Hannity etc. are working towards that goal because they are not in the inner circle (like they think they are) just like the German people were used to go after the Jews but were unaware of the "final solution". But if they were "in the know", I don't think they would object much. Those that are pulling the strings on this are much like Charles Manson's and his Helter Skelter plan (the true Neo-cons and PNAC)- get everybody fighting and then step in to take total control. It wouldn't take much to tear this country apart - and they only need one lunatic to do their bidding.

I don't take this position lightly and I know that their plan is possible given the right set of circumstances and opportunity.

It is just so sad and frustrating at the same time.
Sad that these people are allowed to say these things on the air without fear of rebuff. They get publicity for it but, little in the way of criticism.
It's frustrating that that nothing is being done or said by anyone who could bring pressure on sponsors except for MM.
When does it end? When does this way over the line talk be made to cease. When some unhinged lunatic pumped up on hate by Fox and Talk radio goes after the president??

Now you can understand why so few black people have Talk Shows (owned and operated).
Think about it; if black people had their very own Talk Shows they could combat, compete and challenge all these crazy white people who say the dumbest, most racist things. Black people are reduced to observers, real black people, not uncle-toms.
When Bill Cosby wanted to buy a TV network that was up for sale, executives changed their mind and decided NOT to sell it at all. They did not want to sell it to a black man.
Why don’t white people want black people to have their own TV stations? The reason is this: THEY want to CONTROL the images going out over the airwaves. It’s as simple as that.
This is why we get so many hand-cuffed black people paraded on TV. They would rather project negative images of blacks instead of positive images. As long as they owned them they can do what they want.
These nutty white racist people who say these insane things on TV against the President and black people have no fear of being challenged by their black Talk Show counterpart, because there are none. No real ones that are own and operated exclusively by blacks.
This is no accident, no, this was done so white people could remain free to do and say what they want on TV, and that is exactly what is going on. The only real challenge Fox News’ Glenn Beck would get for calling Obama a racist is being a guest on a Black owned TV station. They would ask him to explain himself. Beck would have trouble explaining his stupidity, and he certainly couldn’t back up his claim.
But this idiot knows he doesn’t have to worry about that; not as long as the airwave are mostly owned and control by people who look like him.
