Jon has it right! Is there nothing the President can do that they won't criticize? I liked the fact that Professor Gates changed to Boston brewer, Sam Adams. I think that beer, like wine is a matter of taste, and you should drink good stuff, regardless or where it's from rather than drinking something bad because it is American made. I happen to think that Sam Adams is good beer, but I would rather have had wine.

Bien Sur! Luckily, I grew up on the West Coast and we have so many excellent wineries, it is quite possible to get a good wine and an American wine in once glass. But lately, I have had good wines from Down Under, too.

Some of the shiraz wines are the finest and most palitable I have ever tasted... and they don't come with a huge price tag either.

HA! Interestingly enough, the city of Shiraz is known as, "the city of poets, wine, and flowers."

You are correct though. The fruit used to make shiraz is actually called Syrah and wines made from this continue with that name in France mostly, but in the U.S. we call it "shiraz."

Another vote for a Samuel Adams. It is by far the best of the mainstream American brews, not counting the micro brews of course. They would have really set some tongues to wagging (or fingers tapping) had they chosen this brew:

Red Oak is a mighty tasty regional beer here in NC. They have the Hummin' Bird Helles, Red Oak Amber Lager, and a Battlefield Bock. All three very, very tasty.

I do like some Red Oak, spent a few years trying everything they put out for awhile. I drive past their brewery on a weekly basis outside of Greensboro.

If I invite Lou Dobbs to a beer session, I'm gonna drink Corona, because it's from Mexico, the country that holds the most of the people he hates.

It's also my favorite beer, and I Lou Dobbs is a bad person. In fact, I'll do it if I ever get on his show.

Not only is this just a chance for them pick at everything that President Obama does, they are also promoting a foriegn owned beer. Their suggestion, Coors Light, is also owned by a foreign company.

Remember when President Obama wrote that excuse note for the kid who was missing school to be at the town hall? I fully expected Fox News to come out with something like, "The American education system is already in trouble, and now we see that the president condones truancy."

No Jon, there is nothing, absolutely nothing this guy can do that the Right will not criticize. It is the most ridiculous, hypocritical 180 I have ever seen in my life. A year ago the POTUS was infallible and was defended from even the most valid of criticisms from the most credible people. How many "disgruntled" former _________s did they attack, from Powell to Richard Clarke to McClellan to Ray Nagin on and on ad nauseam? Now it doesn't matter how inane the jab is (dijon mustard!?) nor if we are still in Iraq or Afghanistan with troops in harm's way or if Iran and North Korea can still perceive our disunity as weakness, oh hell no. This is Party over country at any costs and it sure doesn't hurt that he also happens to be a colored fella with a funny soundin' name.

My favorite beer on Earth is Guinness. To me, it's almost like an entirely different substance than other beers.

But I love many beers, including many American beers.

But it's ridiculous... there's NO beer he could have chosen that would have been the "correct" answer. This is what we've come to? These bimbos criticize him because Bud Light is now owned by a foreign company, suggesting Coors Light instead. If he'd have chosen Coors Light, we may well have heard someone criticizing that because of the racist history of the Coors family.

If I were in his place, and I had chosen Guinness over Bud Light, I'd be criticized for buying an Irish brand over an American one. If I had chosen Bud Light over Guinness, I'd be criticized for choosing a sissy "Light" beer over a hearty, masculine brew like Guinness.

Coors Light's also brewed by Molson Coors (equal shares owned by Montreal based Molson and Coors in Denver). Also distributed by MillerCoors alliance between Molson Coors and SABMiller (South Africa based).

You're right in that he couldn't have chosen a correct beer.

          LOL
Yes, I do remember that, and did when I was writing my original comment. I suppose I could have added this fact to that sentence, because my point extended further than that example.

My point was that these people who went out of their way to point out that Bud Light is now owned by InBev probably, had Obama chosen any foreign beer over Bud Light, would have complained that he didn't drink an American beer, such as Bud Light. THEN they would conveniently omit the part about InBev.

I think the point should be 'where is the beer MADE'. Ownership of a company means squat if their 'workers' are all overseas, so I prefer Toyota (built in Tennesse?) over Chevy (built in Mexico), regardless of where the 'home office' is.
Since 'profit' is what goes to the HO, but 'wages' are at the factory, which is better for the US?
