Welcome and glad to see you join Media Matters in giving the "true" facts with what President Obama said about HealthCare Reform while countering these Republicans, FoxNews Channel and Drudge with their false information. Thank you.

      "...misstatements and outright falsehoods..."

Why are people in politics so afraid to use words like lies, lying, and liar?

      My word people!

The President said what he said.
Nancy Pelosi said what she said.
Anthony Weiner said what he said.
Henry Waxman said what he said.

They said it! Some of them are furiously backpeddling trying to avoid growing sentiment in the nation against the single payer option, but they all said what they said.

For Mediamatters to characterize the use of these comments by those who oppose the health care bill as "falsehoods" is in and of itself false.

"SINGLE PAYER WILL GET A FLOOR VOTE.... It's not going to pass, and it's largely a symbolic gesture, but for the first time, a single-payer health proposal will get a floor vote after the August recess.

"Seeking to dampen liberal anger about deals cut with centrists, Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) said House leaders have agreed to allow a floor vote on a government-run, single-payer system.

"A lot of members on our committee want a vote on that," said Waxman said in an interview. "I believe their wishes will be accommodated."

"Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) offered a single-payer amendment in the Energy and Commerce Committee on Friday, but withdrew it after Waxman said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had promised a floor vote.

"For single-payer proponents, the vote will offer a chance to not only register their support, but bring some attention to their proposal. It might also put some Democrats, who support reform but not a single-payer system, in an awkward position, knowing that the idea is popular among many in the Democratic base.

It should be an interesting vote."

Let's all thank CNN for some astute biased reporting. Not giving the full story or showing the clips from Drudge (or mentioning the others on the video) or not even bothering to investigate why the comments made in the Drudge video are over a period of time (2003, March 2007) yet the clips from the White House are only from June/July of this year. Nor do they bother to show the full clips from disputed videos.

      Classy!
