Does that mean that Beck's birthday cake would actually be in the shape of a tin hat?

What a foul, loathsome, little cockroach! What a vile piece of worm-ridden filth! The animosity poured out of every pore of that toad's pudgy hide! What about all his radical friends? I have been doing research on W.Cleon Skousen, who wrote "The 5000 Year Leap." Skousen was a former FBI agent who told so many lies that J.Edgar Hoover took him off the Friends of the FBI mailing lists and disavowed his associations and opinions he found them so radical. Like Glenny, he was viewed as money hungry, he distorted the truth, jumped to wild conclusions, made guilt by association a major power tool and he wanted to replace the American government with some Mormon led paradise! Ah, but Glenda Becky Baby is such a sweet guy, and so is Nancy Genovese, someone he wound up and then disavowed.

Wait... Jabba the Hutt was on his show?!

(Sorry - I reserve that comparison for Limbaugh. It's too grandiose for Beck. He's more like Greedo.)

Very Good catch on the reference! You are right, he really is a better Greedo, but I couldn't remember the lines for Greedo. But I do admit it fits Jabba the Rush perfectly.

Yes, it was. I guess we watch too many movies. We quote movie dialog in my house all the time. It also has the advantage of not containing profanity but remain deliciously nasty, just the same.

Here's one for you... check out www.myspace.com/on_the_spectrum and see if you get the reference in the latest strip, #47.

Also, I should have #48 posted tonight, and it will use another reference from the same movie. NO ONE can quote movie references like an autistic [my son, about whom most of the comic strip is based.] Sometimes it gets hard to even ID them all!

It's unwise and usually inappropriate to make comparisons with pre-World War II Nazi Germany, but I watch Glenn Beck a lot, and his relentless demonization of ACORN, the SEIU, Progressives, and the Obama Administration is Goebbels-esque in its blend of hysterical conspiracy mongering, twisted "facts" and outright falsehoods. Beck seeks to incite the mob in the guise of "the Constitution," "freedom," "Common Sense." This is a man who could unambiguously state that Obama, the son of a white woman, largely raised by a white grandmother, and with countless white friends and colleagues, harbors a hatred of White People and/or White Culture. Beck subscribes to the Big Lie theory of discourse: repeat it often enough and it becomes the truth.

      Glenn Beck is a douche.

If a commentator tried to pull the crap that Douchey Beck does during W's administration there'd be an FCC investigation and senate hearings for treason.

Beck fuels the crazies that think their opinion is above the rest. Who cares if the majority of Americans want Health Care reform, I'm going to shout down Congressmen and their constituents at a town hall meeting that I was bussed in from 100 miles to attend. I'll get on TV shouting the talking points that Dick Armey told me to.

Beck made that empathetic call to his crazies to not blow anything up, but then he returns back to fueling them with hate.

Good job Becky... way to be the clown that you are.

1st ammendment says he can do it. And its still kind of funny. But what's even funnier is how the birthday boy will not comment on how he wants to pay for all this spending he's proposing. That's 100m per day just on the INTEREST of the stimulus. And before someone goes off on how Beck's not allowed to spew it on the airwaves, I know there's no right to it, but he's allowed, and paid well to do it because of the free market. His employer sees to it.

Actually, no, the first amendment does NOT say he can do it. The first amendment simply says that the government can make no law to prevent him from saying it. Fox could shut his foul mouth any time they want.

There is nothing funny about what Beck did . . . there is NOTHING funny about anything that Beck does, nor is there anything worthwhile in anything he says.

You just went from saying the that First Amendment allows Beck to say this stuff to it being entirely up to his employer, all within the same paragraph.

But to be fair, you also unintetionally debunked the myth by some conservatives that free markets will always result in a public good. Clealy Beck is no "benefit" to the political discourse in America. Fear, irrationality, and stupidity sell.

No, I didn't. This guy said it was Beck's first amendment right to say whatever he wants to say. The first amendment simply states that the GOVERNMENT can make no laws regarding free speech; however, a person's employer CAN fire someone for using company property to spew this garbage. For instance, my employer can fire me for using our break room to rail against our government . . . has nothing to do with the government prohibiting me from speaking. They don't have to put up with it. Fox could take Beck's forum away from him any time they want. Has nothing to do with the government making laws regarding free speech.

              See the difference?

Hear the words of an actual patriot, and despair, Mr. Beck:

"I didn't vote for him but he's my president, and I hope he does a good job."

John Wayne said that about President Kennedy.

He is your president, Mr. Beck, even if you did not vote for him. Take just one moment out of your busy day, and reflect on a similar birthday cake for our previous president, perhaps decorated with a swastika to show his fascist tendencies. You do realize that even the actual liberal media (another minority party) would have been horrified, that the outrage would have been national, vocal, and justified. You have no taste, no style, no wit, little intellect, and apparently no shame at all.

I blame FOX News for giving this irresponsible little jerk, of questionable menatal stability, a forum to begin with. There must be some reasonable boundaries of responsible commentary. Certainly, Glenn Beck has the right to say whatever he wants, regardless how crazy it may be, but I question the propriety of giving a loon such as Beck the exposure that comes with having a show on FOX. It is indeed very revealing that FOX viewers are not outraged; it simply shows that mentality we're dealing with. Despite Beck's disclaimers and admonitions it's clear that right wing violence is inevitable...and it's irresponsible right wing loons like Beck who will have stimulated it. with the help of FOX News for giving him such a forum to begin with.

Actually, Beck probably doesn't have many viewers among the investor class, because he's up against CNBC's Fast Money in the same time slot!

I know better than to expect enlightenment from his audience, anyway; indeed, how could they be expected to know that CCTV9's show Dialogue recently discussed the topic, "Liberal Arts Education Does Matter?" FNC would prefer viewers without such education!
