More projection. From Nixon's Enemies List to Bush's illegal wiretapping, spying on libraries, etc., nobody invades your privacy and builds secret files on American citizens better than the GOP.

I find it both amusing and uplifting to see liberals with their underwear all knoted up from spinning their office chairs around every time someone challenges their thinking. Keep up the good work! Life is too serious and you guys make it lighter.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."
      - How nice of them to take it completely out of context.

LOL. So much wrong with that segment, I don't know where to begin. President Obama wants to know who is lying about health care and Foxtards are afraid. "How can we keep lying if the White House has our emails?"

Then they foment more right wing paranoia with their "you're in trouble if you disagree" BS. Then the total absence of reflection on their NSA support, then more Czar crying...

Jeez. Today's GOP - Grand Old Paranoids.

But if you have spied on your friends, enemies, and neighbors in the past, is it hard to believe that your friends, enemies, and neighbors would spy on you? Notice how they have jumped from the word "fishy", which could be applied to the forced euthanasia rumors, to the assumption of mere disagreement becoming "snitch worthy." Leave it to Faux and Frenimies to leap to the worst case scenario.

Well think about it. Both the far left and far right are all paranoid. They fear that one day we will wake up and speak out. Both parties conduct themselves in the same manner just with different titles (D or R) at the end of thier name.

Doesn't MMFA do a good enough job of ratting out misinformation?

Yes, but the white house has a bigger podium than MMFA does. Don't you wish all of your Republican family members, friends and co-workers spent 30 minutes a day on this website just to get another perspective? Don't you wish MMFA had a half hour or hour show every night that went through the days misinformation and discussed it? When the White House puts somethign out, the MSM treats it as news. When MMFA puts something out, the MSM runs from it because they are to proud to take their cues from MMFA, despite the material being valid and on point. I admit that I go to Newsbusters probably once a week but the product is so inferior to what MMFA has here.

When I turn to FOX on my TV and it is black, then maybe these blowhards will be onto something. Because if the White House was trying to silence their critics instead of combat misinformation, they would shoot a rocket right at Fox's satellite and be done with it.

True but then that would take out more than Fox. Satellites have highier workloads than one new station. It is thier fixed orbital location to service a region. That same satellite also servces your other channels and possible communication devices.

FoxNews Channel "hate" so badly this American President and the Democrats that they have left their usual "smear", "lie", and "mis-quote" actions to "NOW" go to their big gun of all times with the Government is out to get you as we "SCARE-the-HELL" out of you. Wasn't just yesterday the Republicans and FoxNews Channel dancing in the halls about their 'manufactured plants' at those TownHall Meetings by Democrats? What happened in 24 hours for FoxNews Channel to use this "SCARE-the-HELL" tactic? Oh, Media Matters and MSNBC didn't buy the 'manufactured plants' report from the Republicans and FoxNews Channel which caused their superb plan to fizzle away as a leading story. Uh, oh. Hmmm.

Fox noise is pathetic, they are all about misinforming and lying.
They do it on a daily basis. Whats wrong with calling something out that isnt factual? If fox didnt misinform, lie and make crap up they wouldnt have a "news" program.

These scare tactics are only scary in the fact that Fox loyalist believe it and repeat the Big Lie.

If you haven't seen it, you must take 10 minutes and watch Rachel Maddow's clip exposing the organized forces that the White House is trying to expose...

Also, the website that she exposes is curiously down today... covering their tracks???

I agree but then again MSNBC is spinning and doign the same thing. Both FOX and MSNBC conduct themselves in the same manner. Very much like children in the playground. When I see clips of Keith Obermann and Sean Hannity it is almost comical on how they both twist things and sound the same.

Interesting here how FoxNews conflates the WH looking for "lies" and "falsehoods" with "critics".

I guess they must, for some reason, feel like the WH was talking about them ... hmmmm, I wonder why that would be ???

What hypocrites.....whining about a "snitch list". Aren't these the same fox wingnuts who just a few years ago were cheerleading for the patriot act and illegal wiretapping done by their hero GW Bush. They're just whining because progressive and intelligent people are seeing thru their pathetic fear tactics and lies and exposing their lies.

I would say that this is extremely important. By people inside of the White House giving information on the ongoings and development of strategies of the White House, they are internally defeating the objectives of the initiatives. You can not have people who are suppose to support and remain silent on your staffings and internal operations leaking that information to the media or public before it is ready to be released. This is called a "spy" in other operations. There is sometimes information sent to the WHite House that I feel I have suggested that is being dissected in the news. The reason I know it is the truth is because my language is being used. Things like: fiscally responsible, comprehensive, strategy, innovative, etc.. This language wasn't used until I started blogging for media matters and until i met with Representative Pete Visclosky regarding initiatives in Northwest Indiana.

Anyway, the credit for the involvement is stolen from other people and the ability to develop the ideas are stolen also. It is dangerous to employ leaks in an organization. You can judge these individuals on character and ethics in that respect as well.

We wouldn't even be having this discussion if the right wing shills for the health care industry wasn't distorting and lying about health care reform. We aren't talking about simply disagreeing with the administration, we're talking about outright dishonesty. The administration deserves am opportunity to refute the manipulative internet lies of the right wing.

I never really cared much about politics till my nephew was killed in Iraq, after that I saw the lies and distortions. I'm not proud of my past ignorance and must say how quickly it became obvious even to me just how racist and radical the right is. Not all thank
God but enough that it scare the hell out of me. I believe in freedom of speech but Fox twists that freedom to create fear and anger. I don't understand how with all my years of ignorance, I could spot out this deceit when soooo.... many seem to believe these lies.

Clearly Fox longs for the good old days, when Democrats just took it up the a** and then said "thank you, may I have some more?" They can't bear the thought of a Democratic White House actually fighting back, because after all, Fox is heavily populated with people who never had to engage in anything like a fair fight in their entire lives. If this keeps up, half their "personalities" will be requesting deferments until a Republican President is back in charge.

What is with you people? I'm looking at this website for the first time and all your examples of conservative misinformation involve Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. So apparently everything else can be considered sources of liberal (excuse me, "progressive") misinformation. Talk about whiners!!! We have three sources and you get everything else and you're worried about conservatives taking over!! Please, get a grip!! And since when is "raucous crowds" shouting down politicians such a bad thing - I thought it was called "community organizing." Or is that only when it's organized by (gov't funded)ACORN.

It's intimidation. It's like hmm, maybe I better not email that thing because I'm not positive the information in this spam I got from my uncle is true and I don't want to wind up on some in the White House...

Dammit Obama, you're making people question whether they should investigate claims before spreading them around! Imagine a world where Fox News anchors researched things.

Not to be a "middle-of-the-road" comment here but I agree with both sides. Those who question the government, and we all have questioned our government at one time or another, should raise a red flag over this. However, if the White House's intentions are to correct any "misinformation" then it should be clearly stated in the statement given rather than leave it open to interpretation. As an informed Conservative voter, I would want all the CORRECT information I could about a subject before I take a stand on it and especially before I vote on it.

You can't seriously think it's ok for this administration to gather information regarding "e-mails and casual conversation" (their words) that they deam "fishy" about health care reform??? If the Bush administration had initiated something similar, there would be an uproar from this site and you know it!! To gather information abou those who have contradictory viewpoints is a extremely slippery slope!! Please people, get beyond your infatuation with this man and see reality!!!
