Money can be very tempting, even if it means stabbing old friends in the back in order to salvage a career.

The reporters were along a part of the border between China and North Korea that is very hard to delineate. They didn't just stroll into North Korea chanting "Kill Kim Jong Il".

I got a whole visual from your second sentence that keeps making me laugh.

But you're totally right. And their sentence was a bit extreme for the offense.

If it even was an offense. We only have North Korea's word that they were on the wrong side of the border.

Well, for them to be imprisoned in the first place, someone had to be at least somewhat annoyed with them being the general area. I don't know. The whole thing is beyond sketchy, the situation was very unfortunate for the journalists (but was resolved beautifully)... I certainly wasn't implying they intended to do or actually did anything offensive, simply that it was perceived that way to someone in North Korea.

Okay, so here's the bottom line to all Dick's drivel.

He's worried that Clinton's trip helped end a 20 year program to isolate North Korea. When you have a 20 year program like that and the country is setting off nuclear devices left and right while its citizen suffer... maybe the program never worked.

Furthermore, how exactly did N. Korea get positive press out of this?

While arresting people who enter the country illegally is not totally unreasonable in any nation, instead of simply deporting them, they sentenced them to hard labour. Secondly, it took a high profile diplomat to get them out.

I'm pretty sure tourism in N. Korea hasn't and won't go up because Kim Jong Il feigned sensibility.

He'd be all for it if it had been GHW Bush but he would've added that a) Obama couldn't do it without turning to a Republican for help and b) Obama's hubris made him put off asking for help and led to needless suffering on the part of the journalists.

      Mr. Morris,

What if there was two white women in Korea instead of two Asian women would you and Hann Hann say the same thing? It is all about never leaving your fellow men and women behind enemy lines. I am a soldier and I will never leave a fellow soldier behind. With that being said Clinton did the right thing and saved two fellow americans. Good Job Bill!

Toe-sucker is right: How DARE those two journalists put themselves in a position where Bill Clinton can look good helping them!!!

Did anyone see Jon Stewart's remarks on Toe-suck during I think Tueday's show? Spot on and hilarious.

Dick, it's my understanding that these two women were doing an investigative piece on the trafficing of women sex slaves...which is pretty reprehensible. But you don't think their mission was sufficiently important or honorable to give them just a little support? Or is it just because Bill was involved.

BTW, Dick, I hear that Bill doesn't even have to pay women to have sex with him.

I don't think the 'powers that be' on the right see asian sex slaves as an important issue. Therefore they should not have been there.
