Every once in a while, Mr. Goldberg remembers that he used to be a credible journalist. I once saw him cover his mouth when Bill was talking over the woman he used to be on with, Bill had cut her mike, and Bernie seemed appalled. This isn't one of those times. I do think, however, that one of the two, Olbermann or Dobbs, needs to stop. The first one to stop will be the class act. Three guesses who I am rooting for, and the first two don't count, Keith.

Play the tape. Read the transcript.
      Prove it, HillBilly.
Prove Olberman attacked Loony Lou's wife and kids.

      Can't do it, can you?
      Why?
Because it doesn't freakin' exist. Because Olbermann didn't.

      What a bold-faced liar.
      What a coward.
The real story here is that most of your audience of droolers are so bereft of critical thought, they'll never bother to check it for themselves. It's what you count on. It's the only thing that sustains your multitude of lies.

Yeah, that was just a blatant lie. "Brutally attacked his wife and children"? A complete lie.

      Dr. Tiller is Dead.
Bill, Couldn't you think of a better insult than "Tiller the baby Killer" instead?
You attack NBC but you are afraid of Keith Olbermann.
Bill, Keith is just a Man, he is not a Dolbermann.

      Speak truth to power.

Now instead of the news its all about them and their gigantic egos. They are shocked, shocked that they are called out on their lies. Why, someone else must be "brutal."

I guess in Bill O'Reilly's world, merely mentioning that someone is Hispanic equates to "brutally attacking" them. Olbermann can get pretty ridiculous sometimes, but the fake outrage about the particular comments in question is laughable, especially from a guy that spews more venom than a puff adder.

And I'm pretty sure NBC still has a long way down before it hits the kind of credibility cesspool his "news" network blissfully wallows in.

Keith should not have mentioned Lou Dobbs wife there was no point in it other than to ridicule vicious or not.

He did it, you #$%^ing moron, to point out Dobby The CNN House Bigot's hypocrisy in attacking Latinos when he himself is married to one. If he's ridiuling anyone, it's Dobby himself, and only dyed-in-the-wool teabaggers don't think he doesn't richly deserve it...

Olberman is barely holding on to his job. Fox News needs some competition -- Can't somebody buy Marxist NBC on the cheap and start telling the truth?

      RE: Hispanics and illegal immigration.

The fact is, Hispanics who are more than one generation from Central or South America are opposed to those who cross the border. A friend of mine once referred to 'wetbacks', and he had a heavy accent.

He didn't realize that 'illegal immigration' is codeword for ALL Hispanics

Remember when Walter Cronkite would bust on Frank Reynolds or John Chancellor would call out David Brinkley? Yeah, neither do I.

Half of what passes for cable news today is "reporting" on what the other networks are saying and criticizing them about it. Maybe 10% of it is valuable correction of gross falsehoods, and that's wasted on the wrong audience. The rest is just feeding the flock and preaching to the choir. It's creating more and more Us vs Them niche markets where one can turn to hear one's own opinions, no matter what they may be, re-enforced, and the other side's ridiculed. Civil discourse has gone the way of the National Association of Broadcasters seal of good practice and the rhetoric has become increasingly inflammatory.

I try to tell myself to remember that we live in a society where the people reporting on movie stars have become stars themselves, where guys who can't play the game can talk about those who do and become millionaires. Philo Farnsworth must be spinning in his grave.

So then we should be able to go back in the archives, locate a time when Michele Obama was attacked as being un-patriotic, and when one of the Obama daughters was wearing a t-shirt that drew the fire of right wing loonies, and we should be able to find video of Bill O saying "when your wife and children are attacked... it doesnt get lower."

"When your wife and children are attacked on the airwaves, it doesnt get lower."
      - Bill O'Reilly

Really Bill? So we should be able to go back in time and watch video of you defending Michele Obama when she was attacked as unpatriotic and we can rejoice in the video of you running to defend the Obama daughter who was attacked for wearing a Tshirt with a peace symbol on it?

I'd bet money that Bill never even saw the show or clip. He's just assuming it's so so he can have an attack point.

bernie goldberg should be the last person to be criticizing anybody in the media... he is a partisan hack and an embarrassment of an author. its his book about the 202 worst liberals, or something like that, that caused a man to kill a bunch of people before the tiller death, i believe.
