      If a rich white man was asked about country club membership in a gated community he would be infinitely more qualified to answer that question than a Latina woman. And he wouldn't be considered a racist for admitting that. He might have a good sense of humor though.

          Comparing a country club community to the supreme court is pretty weak. If a white judge said he could make a better judgement than a wise latina the libs would never let him out of committee. let alone confirm him. Look at her history. Her entire life she has tried to legally force people to see her point of view. She threatened lawsuits against both universities she went to because they didnt have enough latino teachers or a puerto rican history class. Hey i dont expect harvard to have an oklahoma history class. You dont see me sueing the college over it. She made these comments several times. Im not saying she is racist but the comment was.

      I don't think that Sonja Sotomayor was a racist. I understood exactly what she meant, I identified with the woman part, in facing discrimination, I have faced, I know how it feels, and it would drive me to make the laws about equality real and applicable, instead of noble lipservice. Judge Sotomayor did everything right in her climb out of a humble background. She has been a good working judge approved by two Republican Congresses prior to this appointment. I do think that not voting for her will and indeed should cost them Latino votes. Clearly, these white men forgot that some people viewing their actions would see racism or at least rejection of Hispanics, and will not vote for them. I am in the process of forgiving Lindsey Graham for being so rude to her during the hearings, perhaps he was just giving her a chance to clarify her position, instead of being a horse's fanny. If I were in one of these districts, Latino or no, I wouldn't vote for the men who voted against her. I just wish there had been more men willing to cross over the divide and vote for her on her record, instead of their prejudices about her beliefs.

        The court is supposed to have BLIND JUSTICE. It is not suppose to let things such as past experiences or color come into play. Thats why this is a big deal. Plus its a lifetime appointment. Its not like we can just say well we made a mistake and get rid of her. SHe is there for life. If you want a history lesson you guys did the same thing to us in the 80s. How was anyone rude to her during these hearings? Werent the same things asked of alito and roberts? Didnt alito get the same crap when he brought up his heritage? Dont be a hypocrite. She was confirmed. The good thing is she just replaces another liberal. We still have 4 conservatives and a reasonable moderate so im not worried.

        So you agree with fox news when they agree with you but the other 90% of the time they are just the devil huh? great job at picking and choosing comments you like and dismissing the rest. Of course thats what libs do best.
