I noticed that one fellow started to state the obvious truth when he said "40 years ago, we didn't have..." but somebody cut him off.

I can only guess at what he was about to say...40 years ago, we didn't have a massive propaganda mill shilling for one party. 40 years ago, the News Business was not a 24/7 profit-above-all-else entertainment machine. 40 years ago, we didn't have one-party saturation of the Talk Radio market in every major city, spewing lies about the opposition.

40 years ago, we didn't have democrats running all three branches of government, hell bent on obliterating our economy and healthcare system.

Pup, you need to go back and do your homework. Between 1965-1967 the 89th Congress was even more lopsidely controlled by Democrats than anything in the present day, 295/140 in the House and in the Senate 68/32 with LBJ in the White House and Earl Warren on the Supreme Court. This was the era of Civil Rights, with voter rights protections and endings to restrictive covenants that allowed neighborhoods to keep out Jews or Blacks. It was also the beginnings of Medicare (a communist plot to strip Americans of freedom, according to Ronald Reagan!). Granted, by 1969, a Republican sat in the White House and Earl Warren had just retired, to be replaced by the Conservative, Warren Burger, but the 91st Congress was still under control of the Democrates by 243/192 in the House and 57/43 in the Senate. Kevin Phillips, a Nixon aide who published a book called "The Emerging Republican Majority" credited the rise in the number of women and minorities into the Democratic Party with flight of white males into Republican ranks, something that remains true today. Republicans are overwhelming White, Protestant, and male.

epkk, you need to go back and learn math. 1965-1967 was more than 40 years ago. I said, and was quite clear, "40 years ago". Not 42 or 49 or whatever arbitrary number you would like to select. 40.

Pup you need to go back and read the whole comment. I also included the statistics for the 91st Congress which began its session in January of 1969. Or is that too hard for your arbitary brain to do?

So, according to Joe Scarborough the reason for Rep. Inglis for telling people to turn off Glenn Beck was because he (Rep. Inglis) was loosing ground to the Birther Movement, "NOT" that these people were causing chaos at the TowhHall Meetings. Oh, okay.

From Joe Scarborough: Republicans who tell their voters to 'turn off' Glenn Beck do so because they are "loosing" ground for holding onto their Republican Political seats to the movement of the Birthers who are supported by the Republican Challenger. LOL

Sounds like another Joe The Plumber type, as others have said. Could this be another person like the young campaign worker who faked her own assault last fall claiming Obama supporters did it to her?

Also sounds like he is perpetrating fraud on people who might donate to help him pay his "medical" bills, whatever those are.

I'm sure there is a PI tailing him as we speak. They'll nail this guy. He's not injured, he's faking it. It looks readily apparent. It's also highly ironic, as the article suggests, that this guy is taking donations to defray his medical bills because he lost his job, lost his health care. He's fighting against his own best interest, which shows me the rank stupidity of this person.

That being said, if he was beaten down, then whoever did it needs to be in jail. We don't need idiots like that out on the street either.

Fair enough, but come on: The guy's out fighting (literally) to kill health care reform that would have had him insured in case he was laid off, WHICH HE WAS, and then he has the nerve to ask OTHER PEOPLE to foot his medical bills?!

I might go to hell for this, but I hope the bastard gets CANCER, and then gets denied insurance coverage in his next job due to prexisting condition! That might knock some sense into the ignorant bastard; get him to stop making such an effort to fight against his own interests and those of his country.

And you're right - if he was assaulted, the attacked should be prosecutued. ABSOLUTELY. It's just too bad he didn't get a few bones broken - REALLY drive up those medical bills that he already can't afford, thanks to the system he defendeing WITH HIS OWN BODY! (The only body he has!)

BTW - I'm not against you on this. Re-reading our posts, it kinds of sounds that way, but I completely agree with what you said.

I just find the whole situation too funny for reason. These conservatives really have no sense of self-awareness whatsoeve, do they? LOL.

I agree. It's the same old refrain really. Alleged conservatives, fighting against things that would benefit them, mostly because someone on the radio, or the TV told them so.

The de facto leader of the Republican Party is a talk radio host.
The de facto leader of the Birthers is a CNN "news" host and some half-witted woman.
The de facto leader of the "Health Care Scare" is a news channel.

      Scary days these are.
