It's the Democratic Party, and it's composed of Democrats. But I can understand why Limbaugh and those who share his view wouldn't want to call people and things by their actual names. Why, if he started doing that then he'd have to start calling feminists feminists instead of feminazis, and that would deprive him of one of his greatest rhetorical assets: infantile name-calling.
Once any group allows itself to be defined by it's opposition, the group ceases to be taken seriously. I'll accept being called a member of the democrat party when Republicans accept being called the chickenhawk, anti-intellectual party.
Democraps, Dumbocrats, Thugocrats, Demokkkrats...
Not that I care what labels are used by whom, but I've made my point.
Does he realize that if even 1/3 of his argument were true, he'd be off the air and in a work camp already?
I am sure Rush realizes this, his listeners do not!
But it'
s worth repeating until it sinks in through even a few of the rightes' thick, thick skulls: If Hitler was such a leftist, why were his biggest fans in the US all conservatives?
It seems that the wingnuts have decided they will believe whatever they want, screw the outside world! Its that blatant. Its intellectual violence I tell you.
It's right there, in the name of their political party. The National Socialists. They HAVE to be lefties because of that.
Totally ignoring of course, how Hitler ran things.
Yes, But the righties also go much farther than that! There's plenty of rhetoric out there (such the Free Republic first page on Google if you search nazi socialism). Claims that since Hitler wanted to control everything, that made him a socialist. Not sure how these loons define fascism. Clever name the Nazi picked for their party alliance to bring in enough disparate groups to break into power.
No kidding, ML. It's still fooling some people more than a half century later, probably as they're asking "How could all of those people have been sucked in by Hitler's propaganda ?" and trying to compare their political opponents to Hitler.
Rush speaks with the assurance that his audience is uneducated. He is confident that he can say the dumbest, most historically and factually inaccurate things, and he knows his "flock" will take it as gospel.
It has been a very lucrative gig, though one wonders if his sense of self worth comes from (a) his wallet, or (b) the power he knows he has over lazy listeners.
There is probably a (c) in there as well. Feel free to follow up.
Good stuff.
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Actually, no. No she didn't. And would it matter if she had? You're not an 8 year old.
