      Dean might be one of the few pols that you can honestly call a leftist but some of us think that's a good thing. Why call him a 'blood sucking leftist' though? And why the voilent imagery? And speaking of people who won't stop: Have you looked in the mirror lately Lou?

        I think Lou's imagery is easy to explain. Consider the clues. Last week he called MSNBC a "coven" of thugs; this week he calls Dean a blood sucking leftist who can only be stopped by a stake through the heart.

        I think it's pretty clear that Lou just really likes the Twilight books. Either that or he simply finds Robert Pattinson dreamy.

              We aren't the party who gave McCain the nomination because the guy who should have gotten it was a mormon. That was ya'll. What we do here is joke, and only get mean spirited when discussing idiots like Glen Beck. How was what was said intolerant of Mormons?

          You may have it nailed down,,Vysotsky.

          GOP strategy meeting;

          **********

          Let's see, we've tried socialists, Nazi... didn't get people registering Republican in droves like we expected.

          Commie, dictators... nope, didn't work.

          Fascist.. naw, nobody fell for it, just not reality-based enough to be scary.

          I know!! Vampires! yeah, they're blood-sucking vampires! And witches! Didn't conservatives have a good run with the witch thing a few hundred years ago?

          (**timid voice from back of the room**);

          ummmm... maybe we could come up with some ideas of our own, instead of just lying about the other side and trying to prevent them from doing anything. Maybe if we stopped acting like children and lunatics, we could be taken more seriously.

          Silence!! That's quitter talk ! Now , where was I?? Werewolves!! Do we have any data on the correlation between Democrat polling and full moons?

        In what universe is Dean a leftist? It's not like he's calling for a British-style NHS and the nationalization of all industry. I've never heard him call for anything that wasn't mainstream thought or to the right of it for the lst two hundred and some years.

          In truth, all the adults in the room know that there are no REAL leftists in this country, and that's a result of us still actully being a somewhat right-of-center coutnry , relative to the rest of the industrialized world. We're not nearly as conservative as the conservatives think we are, but since they think they get to decide where the "center" is, it's very easy for them to paint an actual left-center guy (in reality) as a hard-leftist, relative to their perception of the center.

          The reality is that the conservatives' spokesmen in this country are in fact HARD HARD HARD right in a slightly right-of-center country. And our "leftists" are in fact very much mainstream - far closer to the center than our conservatives are.

      I'm getting the feeling, just from this brief clip, that if Lou Dobbs didn't have a radio and TV show to do, and a staff to maintain him, that he would be wandering the streets of some large metropolitan city, pushing a shopping cart and buttonholing random pedestrians to tell them all about the cosmic rays the Russkies are using to control his brain.

        What does that mean? Are you suggesting that all doctors do good? Michael Jackson's family might think otherwise. And that is a mild example.

        The only good think about the democratic party right now is the disappearance of Dean and Edwards.

        Thank you Pres Obama.

            Correct, a doctor would be a good person to consult. But a doctor with more than a few years experience would be even better. By 1980, 2 years after med school he was already involved in politics, so a full time doc would be better also. And a doctor with some recent experience would even be better. His experience is at least 20 years old. Things change.

                Actually Dean is richer than me because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth . But that does not bother libs when their heroes are rich, it is only bad for conservatives. Especially conservatives who actually earned their money in business instead of inheriting it.

                Hey I almost forgot, since you probably attacked Bush's service record, what do you have to say about Dean's.

                how do you figure?

                Because Dean was the chairman of the Democratic Party and the "50 State Plan" was his idea (many within the party were willing to just give up on the south entirely).

                was it it [sic] the "i have a scream" speech?

                That was a piece of nonsense cooked up by the media. Dean's "scream" was amplified far above its actual decibel level, and was played over and over again in an attempt to make him appear demented. Congrats, sucker, you fell for it and are still foolish enough to believe it means anything.

                the guy is a [sic] idiot

                With an M.D., remember. Personally, I have a hard time accepting your opinion on who is an idiot when you haven't mastered a 1st grade level of capitalization. This is what happens when you watch Fox News before finishing with Sesame Street.

      I had very little contact with Lou Dobbs before the whole birther thing, but I knew his name and thought of him like Louis Rukeyser, a legitimate financial journalist. After the last couple of weeks, I wouldn't even rate him as a crackpot. When he started complaining about the people criticizing him, he was mean, and he went after Keith Olbermann, just back from vacation and said a whole bunch of trash. One of his complaints was that Keith had said things about him that you wouldn't say to person's face. But he threatens school yard violence. "My wife is 5'2" and she could whip your butt!" He was also very ugly to people like me for contributing to this website. And now he describes Dr./Gov. Dean a "pest" and a "blood-sucking lefty". Gee, what a testy, petty grump! Was he always like this?

      Some people here seem to be unaware that CNN is just as bad, if not worse than Faux Newz - worse because it purports to be less of a propaganda machine than Murdoch's "news" network. But it is.

      The healthcare industry has CNN in its back pocket. The network also floods viewers with stories that distract and/or spew the same old, day after day. Remember the Iraq war reporting? Or how about the network refusing to air ads critical of the healthcare industry vampires?

      Be clear - ALL "MSM" / "news" / "reporting" (terms used loosely) content is part of The Show. Real news would inform, not instruct. If you think that all major media hasn't been compromised a long time ago you are beyond naive.

      Just sayin'.

        I second that. Last weekend I caught a segment of CNN reporting on the town hall disruptions. The reporter had on for commentary a guy who writes for Politico. Before that he worked for National Review.

        Of course, his take was about "both sides" being disruptive, and the Democrats making a mistake for mixing the birther people in with these town hall people in their ad. Naturally, no further investigation was even hinted at. Like the fact that the birther thing was conjured up partly to get a mailing list of people to turn out for these town halls....

      Wow...the angry white male has really come to the surface since Obama became president. So Dobbs can make such a comment and get away with it?

      I'm met homeless, alcoholic, unmedicated Schizophrenics who had more cogent, insightful opinions than Lou Dobbs.

      It is time that CNN took a good look at Lou Dobbs as not being in the same class as their other newscasters. Their other newscasters REPORT the news as it should be; Mr. Dobbs feels the need to comment on it with his facial expressions, sighs and words. Recently, one of the greats of newscasting, Walter Cronkite, passed away and was revered for his professionalism within the profession. He did make a comment about the Vietnam War when he was there, but that is one instance. Lou Dobbs has to interject his viewpoint every time he opens his mouth. You should take some time, Mr. Dobbs, to look at clips of Walter Cronkite reporting the news and understand that the public wants you to report not comment. Furthermore, if CNN wants to have a newscaster with a more conservative viewpoint, they should hire one who professionally reports the news without commenting - and let Lou Dobbs go to Fox News where he obviously belongs!
