The actual word is civil, as in not making death threats and beating the crap out of anyone who disagrees with you. But hey, you want to try the other way? Let's meet and when I'm done tell my how you liked it...

I knew we never should have forsaken traditional values like solving societal issues by crouching naked in a cave around a campfire, using grunts and clubs of bone for discourse!

But they wouldn't listen when we told them Ug would take away your personal shaman and ration charms and spells!

Atta boy, Dick. If there's one thing we don't need, it's a quality Q&A session with our reps from which we're in danger of exiting with a little knowledge of the health care debate. Don't listen to those mamby-pamby "be nice and civil and polite" types who want nothing more than to take away your right to be obnoxious and disruptive. The best decisions are always made from the heart, without the vile pollution of information and facts, and don't let them impede that process. If you happen to come across a quiet discussion where people are speaking in conversational tones one at a time, start screaming and waving signs and interrupting. THAT is democracy the way the founders intended it to be.

Oh, and don't forget the Dick book and the Dick website.

He must have been thinking of Obama and the Chicago goons when he said that. Obama mastered the money part and now he is working on the mob part.

Why is it then, that the most sane voice coming through on ALL of this, appears to be, yes, Obama?

Ah, the old "Chicago" tie back. You guys love to use that one don't you? I'm sure we'll be hearing this for years to come, even it means nothing in the case of Obama.

I suspect it is in part the secret of Bush II, magnolialover.
The right is happy to use the Chicago club, hoping if they wield it often enough we will all forget about how Bush II is a yankee from Connecticut, and not a Texan at all. He's New England Old Money, third generation, and he shows all the signs of it: A degree without any scholarship, finding a duty at home to keep him out of foreign war (and going AWOL even from that), and a belief that he is entitled to the silver spoon he was born with. He is not a good ol' boy. He is a frat boy. He had an eight year kegger, bullied and finally attacked a much smaller and less powerful nation, outed a CIA agent, wouldn't clean up his mess (Katrina), and snooped on everyone. In my opinion, and in the opinion of the majority of Americans, ANY change AT ALL would be for the better. It's why the Republicans lost so big in 2008.

I actually like Chicago. I've been there. It's a pretty cool city. I have friends and family there. The people who talk so bad about it should really go for a visit. It's not the "thug city" they're trying to make it out to be. That's why I don't understand these commentators. Isn't Chicago, Illinois part of that "heartland" they claim to love so much. It's funny how it wasn't a bad city until after Obama was elected. Then suddenly it gets this bad reputation. "The Chicago way"? When we got upset at Bush we didn't call the entire area of Midland, TX crooked did we? I don't think so.

In liberal northeast New Jersey where I live, at Barnes and Noble sit dozens of unsold copies of his LAST book. I can't figure out why they even bothered ordering so many copies of the new one. Who reads that trash anyway?

"Is this evidence that Democrats have lost control of the message, when they attack people?"

Sean, whom have the Democrats attacked? When did this attack happen? Why wasn't it in the news? And, what message? That lower premiums are a good thing? How can you even lose control of something like that? Aside from talking head morans who can't get their facts straight, I mean? You know, people like you for instance.

Mr. Morris, the time of stacked town hall audiences ended with Bush 2 leaving office. He was the one who needed to be surrounded by fawning sycophants and spoon fed softball questions, because he just isn't that bright. We're not asking for abject obeisance, just a chance for rational discussion about a very important topic. Disrupting democracy is only in the best interests of the insurance giants who stand to lose a great deal of money on the carcass of health reform.
