I watched the whole townhall on streaming media and Obama knocked it out of the park. He did a great job of immediately putting the guy in his place on this issue. But the guy at least acted with more decorum than I saw at Lloyd Doggett's town hall in Austin. He did have a good question about why Obama didn't use the bully pulpit to push congress on their own health insurance.

I couldn't believe the response from Andrea Mithchell following the Townhall, she said that President Obama didn't field any hard questions and that there wasn't any real pushback(whatever that means). I thought he confronted alot of the outrageous lies being spewed by conservatives. I agree also with TPM that it reminded me again this discussion IS about healthcare, not socialism and all the other militia crackpot charges we've been seeing.

I wish he would have advised skeptics to utilize their channel changers so that they are not hearing just one steady stream of misinformation from a certain cable channel.

Fox only had video of the town hall that Pres. Obama attended. They spent the entire time talking over it. No wonder Fox viewers are uninformed. A lot of good questions were answered and b.s. rumors dispelled and the people that probably need the information the most were denied it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not surprised, but this town hall was something all Americans could have benefited from. It certainly answered some of my questions.

Fox is a propaganda mill, that's all. It is bought and paid for by the people who want to destroy our country. Has nothing to do with right v. left, it has to do with false religious ideology, it has to do with money, it has to do with hatred . . . it has NOTHING to do with conservatism and liberalism. It is destroying our country.

Well of course. FOX doesn't want their viewers to have information.

right, I forgot, the mainstream media is always 100% honest, accurate, never wrong, and has all of the right answers. now, if people disagree with each other, it means they don't have all of the information.

Apparently fox reporters got up and left halfway through Obama's town hall today. The buzz is all over the msnbc live feed of the event.

Fox is only interested if something happened that's worthy of being "sex action news". They have a very low standard of infotainment to adhere to. Unless a fight breaks out or a teabagging wingnut erupts into a tirade, this townhall is officially boring to them.

I didn't watch Faux News's version of it, but I can imagine the tenor of the whole affair:

"And Barack Hussein Obama just said that he was going to appoint Rahm Emaunel's brother to head the new Death Committee..."

"Barack Hussein Obama just promised his audience that he would end capitalism before the end of the August recess..."

"Barack Hussein Obama just demanded that the audience fall to their knees and worship him"...

I could be wrong, you know, but...

I watched on C-SPAN (yes, I'm one of the half-dozen people who do watch C-SPAN), and it couldn't be more perfect. Just the facts, with no talking heads trying to distort Obama's words as soon as they came out of his mouth...

      Obama is lying,

I have emailed the "http://www.whitehouse.gov/CONTACT/" over 4 times with different questions regarding health care reform, financial markets speculation reform, real estate reform, term limits and never recieved any answers. But now he is adding another site to "answer" questions and create dialog. When are you people going to understand that he is a lawyer, a liar. He doesn't care about communications, or at least one of my emails would have been answered. Instead he is trying to make a joke out of his "snitch list". For the dim witted, that may work. But for those with the brain power to see through the charade we know what he is doing.

Maybe in your e-mails you should try not calling him a liar.

        .

So President Obama doesn't care about communications because out of a US population of over 307,151,400 he didn't answer YOUR 4 e-mails?

And because President Obama didn't answer YOUR 4 e-mails you've concluded that he's making a "snitch list"?

And YOU have the nerve to claim you're not "dim witted", YOU have brain power?

        Are you sure?

The webpage in question merely debunks disinformation being spread. This is dubbed an enemies list. That's right, we've reached the point where defending against misinformation is now considered in some way undemocratic.

Right wing pundits and the "concerned Americans" at town halls claim to be in favor of open debate. However, there is a catch: you must be successfully scared into thinking the plan equates to totalitarian control of healthcare, complete with rationing and mandatory euthanasia. If this isn't the dominant theme, or anyone even attempts to point out the gaping flaws and lies in this logic, its undemocratic. For these people, free speech amounts to their right to shout in your face.
