From the August 11 edition of MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews:

Since the Republican base already hated Obama, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that they could motivate enough people to overwhelm these meetings all over the country. What pi$$es me off is that the Media won't admit that what we're seeing is fabricated outrage, with just a dash of sincere gullibility thrown in.
If you tell old people that Medicare is going to force them to commit suicide, a lot of them will believe you.
What we're seeing is the result of Republican subterfuge... there's nothing genuine or grassroots about it.
Let's be clear here, nerzog; the outrage of the individual teabagger isn't fabricated by the individual teabagger, but fabrictaed by the media mouthpieces who are manipulating that teabagger into a frenzy. This is simply to counter the trolls who will inevitably acream at you "How dare you accuse all those Patriotic Americans of dishonesty, you atheistic communist socialst fascist Nazi liberal! ACORN!!! SEIU!!! DEATH CAMPS!!!!!"...
