Yes I realize how addressing the rape crisis in Congo could be meaningless to a misogynist like you.

Addressing the rape crisis is one thing. Let's see if she 'does' anything about it. Liberals are famous for 'addressing' issues or 'looking into' the matter or 'showing serious concern for' the issue or forming a committee to 'discuss' the issue.

Bush administration had given a bunch in foreign aid to Africa using those same committees. I don't see how discussion of an issue could be construed as a bad thing, but I don't have my head up my ass.

I didn't say it was a bad thing(discussing the issue) but a follow up of action is the critical juncture that deserves kudos if it happens. I am curious to see if there is anything done by this administration to curtail the violence in Africa. All I 'see' is talk. BTW, this has nothing to do with Bush so I don't see the relevence of bringing him into the pix.

"I didn't say it was a bad thing..." Gutless Coward. If you are going to post something, be prepared to stand behind it.

"BTW, this has nothing to do with Bush so I don't see the relevance of bringing him into the pix..." Gee, sorry you "don't see" what Bush has to do with it when you accuse LIBERALS of being "Famous" for talking and not acting, and someone points out that when CONSERVATIVES were in power, the same problems existed and nothing got done. I really am sorry you can't see the relevance, but your obliviousness is hardly our problem.

Hm, somebody must've missed the part where HC said, "Bush administration had given a bunch in foreign aid to Africa using those same committees."

NeoKKKons -- STILL acting as if an eight-year presidential administration that ended a scant eight months ago never happened.

Bad puppy -- that's NO way to burnish Dumbya's legacy!

As opposed to Conservatives, who just "ignore" issues until they can't be ignored, and then "claim" that the issues are "unimportant" and "not vital to American security." Then they go off and "bomb" nations that "may" become a "threat to National Security," by using "lies" to sell their "wars" to the "general public."

You sound like the kind of a** who never gives a penny to charity, but sneers at people who drop off canned goods at a food bank- "oh, typical liberal, as if that's going to solve the problem of world hunger, what a loser."

          Seriously, you are beneath contempt.

No, I'm the kind of conservative that looks at the fiscal reality of 'people who drop off canned goods at a food bank' or the social impact of condoning panhandling. I am all for helping those who can't help themselves but I see a huge waste in the way this type of 'help' is implemented. During the 2005 Katrina crisis, people were urged to donate water, yet they lived 100's if not 1000's of miles away! The semtiment was great but the logic flawed. It's the same with donating canned goods to a food bank. It's not fiscally sound. There are far better ways to help those who need help that cost far less if implemented properly. I'm not heartless. Fiscal responsibility requires attention and sound logic, not 'warm fuzzies' and "tingles running up your leg".

Your theories make you feel superior, while they feed no one (except your own ego.) The stupid liberals who illogically donate to feed banks feed people. It doesn't make sense to you because you are a cold-blooded moron who keeps his hand on his wallet as he throws appeals from charities in the trash while bleating "this won't work, this won't work either, this won't work either." This makes you feel good about yourself. Dismissing small attempts to make even a few people's lives a little better makes you feel good about yourself. Yep, donating water is illogical. Bringing food to a food bank is illogical. Holding on to your money and sneering at people who try to help- THAT'S logical.

Whatever. You are a typical conservative- you can't save the world, so you aren't interested in helping ANYBODY. What a great philosophy. You are welcome to it.

"It's not fiscally sound." All anyone needs to know about you, right there. Charity is NOT logical. Nietzche knew it. Spencer knew it. You know it. Good for you. Now if you don't mind, us human beings are trying to live in a society here.

Conservatives don't avoid giving to food banks because they are cheap, they avoid giving because it's "Illogical" and it "doesn't solve the problem." And what WOULD solve the problem? Three possible answers- "We don't know yet," "The problem is unsolvable and therefore not worth dealing with," or "Tax cuts for the wealthy."

Conservatism is the natural result of combining a pathological hatred of fellow human beings and an equally pathological obsession with personal material wealth. Puppies is an excellent example of a Conservative- someone who feels compelled to sneer at anyone who actually wants to lift people up when the "logical" thing to do is to step on them as you climb the ladder.

Conservatives are people who want all the benefits of a society -- secure borders, safe streets, a criminal justice system that guarantees the rights of the accused, capable first responders who respond to emergencies 24/7/365, roads, bridges, tunnels, schools, hospitals -- with NONE of the responsibility -- taxes and a willingness of the well off to shoulder part of the burden for those who are less able to do so.

Their mottoes are "what's in it for me?" and "I got mine."

              Hey, pooping rainbows...
try volunteering (GASP!!!1!) at one of these food banks that don't work. Don't worry, the people who work there won't turn you into a gay, socialist/fascist, ni-- lover. Those who work there are generous Christians (I didn't say you wouldn't be uncomfortable), and you could see IN FACT how full of feces your THEORY is.

I am not going to question your intent (left my mind-reading hat in the car) but while there may be "far better ways to help those who need help that cost far less if implemented properly," and of course people who support charity would be interested in implementing such "better ways," nevertheless until these "better ways" are actually happening, then donating canned goods, though it may be "fiscally unsound," is one Hell of a lot better than doing nothing at all while waiting for that theoretically superior solution.

We don't really have much leverage to force action. Nonetheless, travelling around the world talking to world leaders is more or less the job of the Secretary of State; Condi was the first, I believe, to adopt the "why bother" policy.
