There goes Olbermann again using facts as proof against poor HillBilly.
When we he realize that facts just get in the way of fearmongering.

How can you NOT laugh at Bill's sanctimonious attacks on GE? It's pure Ted Baxter.

Well Olbermann is absolutely correct. If any of us in our jobs ever screwed up any fact/figures we would be fired. As a so-called "journalist" Bill O'Really should be fired and GE/NBC should really put the flames under Murdoch s feet on this one and demand nothing less than the expulsion of BillO.
Let's get as many people as we know to email NBC News to let them know about our outrage and lets finally get BillO fired.

Can anyone point to any statement that O'Reilly made that was false?

Nope I didn't think so. But there was a little more to the story that either the bathtub boy or MMFA was presenting, but that is certainly no surprize.

The point was that he made a report based from an anonymous source without doing any fact-checking at all. He did it plainly to defame GE, with no basis in fact.

The truth of the matter is that O'Reilly has touted his "source" so many times it isn't even funny anymore - and his "source" has been wrong so frequently that it is utterly and completely predictable.

You can defend him all you like, but it is not journalism. The very fact of this:
Today, "The Factor" sent a list of questions to GE, asking if the company does or did business with Corezing International and what the nature of that business is. GE spokesperson Gary Sheffer said by e-mail, "we do no business with Corezing International and have no record of ever having done so."

should have made him hold his idiot tongue until he had something solid.

And the fact that GE could easily find out which specific device was in question means O'Reilly should have been able to - meaning he could have easily determined if it was manufactured by GE.

        He is a worthless bloviator.

We also know that Immelt has lied before about his business with Iran. He first denied it and than later acknowledged it. He is the boss, wouldn't he know?

Not necessarily. It is the sixth largest corporation in America with 176 billion in revenue in 2008 and 307,000 employees as of 2005. It seems to me that would be a lot to keep track of.

Halliburton does business in Iran. How about PepsiCO and Coca Cola? They do business in Iran, also. Kentucky Fried Chicken . . . there's a very long list. Does Bill trash them? The point is Bill told a story that he hadn't researched and it was false. That's not unusual for him.

This is about Olbermann and O'Reilly . . . O'Reilly is a big-mouthed, lying, blowhard with a COLOSSAL EGO, a legend in his own mind, if you will . . . he doesn't like to be shown up by a big-mouthed blowhard with a big ego on MSNBC. He knows that people like you don't watch anything except him, so he lies and you, because you are underinformed, BELIEVE his nonsense.

        And your post proves... what?

That Bill-O went off half-cocked, even after admitting that "info was hard to come by" "probably classified" and several other times that he really oculdn't verify any of it...

But that didn't stop him from making the insinuation a anyway!

So THANKS for proving MMFA's point. I guess it really IS OK IYAAR!

Can anyone point to any statement that O'Reilly made that was false?
Well, if history is any guide, Commode Boy, the false statements usually begin with the first word BillO says on his show, and end with the last word he says on his show.

"The FBI then discovered that radio frequency modules inside the bombs were part of a shipment made by a U.S. company to Corezing, International, a business in Singapore with direct ties to Iran."

"'The Factor' has been told but cannot confirm that the General Electric Corporation is under suspicion in the case. "

"We are just reporting what we believe is true."

How many American companies could've sold these to Corezing? GE denied making any sales to them at all, or doing business with them in any way. If 'The Factor' has been told something it cannot confirm, and it reports it anyway, it has misled the public it is supposed to serve. It has lied. That's easy enough, right?

Isn't "fair"-liberal the same one who consistenly defends the firing of Dan Rather for being duped into using "supposedly" faked documents to report on a story. What is the difference here, "fair"-liberal? The only difference I see is that G-Dub actually did shirk his military obligations. GE does not even make these radio frequency modules.

What could the possible excuse be - other than incompetent reporting? When asked about it, GE's spokesperson answered that they had never done business with Corezing and that they did not make these radio frequency modules. Wouldn't anyone worth a damn have asked the question before saying these kinds of accusations about a competitor on national television? Please, O'Reilly defenders explain to us how Dan Rather had to be put away forever but this kind of nonsense (accusing an American company - your competitor - of contributing to the deaths of American soldiers with pure conjecture) can be defended. What a pinhead, right-wing smear merchant, piece of crap!

Jeff Immelt has been proven to be a liar in the past.

GE owns Msnbc, Msnbc helped the Obamanation to get elected.

GE is set to make a killing by helping the obamation with his assault on America.

So you defend an American company accusing their competitor of contributing to the deaths of American soldiers with pure conjecture? I just want to hear you say it. Have the courage of your convictions. If you have chosen party of honesty, party over country - at least have the balls to say it. You are fine with an American company using their talking heads to accuse their competitor of contributing to the deaths of American soldiers using nothing but pure conjecture in order to attempt to gain an upper hand in their battle over commerce. At least say it to yourself so you can admit where your loyalties lie.

By the way, I did not watch this clip of Olbermann nor did I catch his show last night - so it is possible that he was going on about himself, but it is particularly delicious to hear a defender of O'Reilly put down his competition for bragging about himself too much. The other night O'Reilly's entire show was devoted to himself and his ratings.

Fox News does not have to report the facts. They know they are reporting false information and don't care. They know that the majority of the people who watch their network either have no other news source or will only watch Fox News because it fits their ideals. Because of this, all they have to tell is enough "truth" to make their agendas believable.
