Poor Sarah, I would say she was Mentally Challenged but that's not fair to the Learning Impaired.
Ms. Palin is a Fool's Fool with no one to Compare.
Sarah wants to be taken Seriously.
All she has to do is Develope a little Intellectual Curiosity.

      Speak truth to power.

Simple Sarah doubled down today and claimed Obama isn't taking her seriously. Lets see now, what happened the last time she doubled down against someone? Oh yeah, I remember. it was the press, and shortly after doubling down, she quit as governor.

How twisted does a person have to be to believe this garbage? I reiterate that conservatism which embraces the likes of Rush Limbaugh is not a political philosophy...it is a character flaw. I no longer even speak to people who I know are Limbaugh fans. What's the point?

I'm back to commenting on the site, haven't in a while but viewed it occasionally, so I got some questions if someone can answer me, I'm Irish by the way, so I'm trying to get my head around some things.

Is there any rules or regulations in the media in America?
I mean surely saying false arguements repeatedly aren't allowed? I can get over someone mentioning false facts the ODD time, but consistently? Seems a bit of a joke?

Is there only two political parties in America? And if not, why is it always only Democrats and Republicans mentioned?
That looks to me to be a bad idea, I mean if I didn't approve of Obama during the election, but didn't like McCain's either, where's the third option? Surely leaving yourself only two choices is bad for everyone, no?

Also just a general question, it probably confuses a lot of Europeans I'd imagine, but,

WHY do Americans have the RIGHT to bear arms?, I presume the answer is for protection of yourself, and family, but that'd be in case of an attack on you're life right? But not everyone in America would be attacked like that at some stage of their lives yes? But people would need healthcare, or more to the point health insurance , because the right to health insurance is the same as the right to guns, to protect your life yes?, and everyone, or at least a higher proportion, would have issues with their health, at some stage in their life.

So wouldn't it be, at least, more of a responsibilty to gurantee Healthcare to ALL Americans, than making sure all Americans can have guns.

Thanks for reading that, rambled a bit, but wanted to make sure I explained myself properly ha ha.

Oh P.S although Limaugh, Hannity, Beck, O Reilly, Coulter are jokes in my eyes, wouldn't get any recognition in Ireland media, let alone society, I must admit the pieces of them on MM are pretty entertaining.

Faux sucessfully won a court case arguing their right to lie. Pretty pathetic huh?
Why just two parties? Well, there are a few independents as well. Liebermann unfortunatly being one. I think the ability to entice enough money to support election campaigns has much to do with why just two major parties. Though if the Republicans keep on their current path we will need a new party in the future.
The need for an armed milita early in our history put an armed citizenry on the list of needful things. This need went away, but the logical and illogical desire to shot the bad guys if they happened to appear in ones sites became a romantic image that grew and grew. Supposedly their to lethally step up when the country is threatened by its own government. Again a romantic image that disregaurds reality at many points. It works well as a bass rowser, the democrats are gonna take away your guns, has workerd well for many decades by many conservative polititians.
Most of our media fails to inform. A root cause of much of, not just the health reform problems, but of any important issue you might care to name in the US&A.
Thanks for the post. We have a number of posters with warm ties to the Emerald Island. My family probably had a hand in oppressing the Irish. Not a proud thing to admit.

          Thanks for the explanations,

"My family probably had a hand in oppressing the Irish"

Ha ha, just remember us Irish practically built America, or at least thats what our small little country likes to think. And I'll admit that although I'd honestly LOVE to go to America, probably more so than anywhere else, some things like Limbaugh, just makes the place such a turn off, I mean sorry for being disrespectful but, what the hell is wrong with ye?

And your explanations have actually helped me make a theory about the questions, i.e, why only 2 parties? and why guns is so "Necessary".

MAYBE, its the result of U.S.A really being still a relatively young nation, I mean I'm comparing to Ireland, but really there isn't a lot of history in U.S.A in the grand timescale of time itself.

I mean, I think only recently in Ireland, most people have turned away from voting for parties just because those parties would have had an impact in our revolution and so on.Just to explain, FF and FG have always been the main parties mostly because they had the history, but now Labour party is growing to equal them because we've left the past behind if you get me.

I mean, United States has only been around for a couple hundred years right, so theres that, kind of family connection to Democrats and Republican parties, and plus I see a lot on this site the use of the "ForeFathers would've" as a comment used, or something along those lines, cause .

So I'd think that the whole gun issue is still, almost close to heart, but as time goes on, it'll eventually fade away.

Sorry, enough babbling, one last question, up to what point do Republicans want the Gov't to actually govern, is it just for defence and thats all?

The insecurities affecting various vocal parts of the american population have already filled many books. I can't reduce them down to a sound bite. In connection with your last question here, check out Leo Straussman and his political philosphy. Oxdown gazette off of the Firedoglake website had a nice sumation of it about a month ago, how it mirrors the actions of the american neocon. Its use has had a bad affect on the american body politic.

Your comments on the youth of america has some wieght. It does not explain all of it though. There are examples of modern attempts at democractic rule, the Swiss and the Dutch come to mind. By the time we have the years to be considered a mature country. we will be quite different from what we are today.

Pretty sure I know what you mean about leaving the past behind. Similar to turning the page, or moving on with life.

Yes and then usually an argument on the relevence of the historical statement to whats at hand.

Don't know, the morbid attachment to guns maybe genetic. Which is a different thing than the hunting populations attachment to guns. Just so long as we don't start to have strange disires for shoulder launched missiles its possible we'll move onto less lethal enthusiasms.

My feeling is that beyond the media yackers, the republican party is in favor of whatever sustains or increases the wealth and power of those who have the majority of it at this point. The best way to alter this in My and other's opinion is to have public champaign financing and a short campaign season.

Good to talk at you, and good luck to us all.

      Fellow Matterers,

Sarah Palin has recently developed grammatical skills. How can her post(s) be so concise. That is odd. I imagine, her staff is doing the keypunching, with a an educated degree of sophistication.
Sepsis Gadfly, (Rush Limbaugh) is championing Palin' Facebook postings. A cheat who wins is still a loser.

The insurance industry has a death panel: preexisting conditions.

Mr. Gadfly is on one end of the stones throw. Everything he says is aimed without consideration of current insurance practices.

Had it been any other issue the right-wing outrage would have been the same. It occurs, to me, that is is about the man, not the issue.

      Best wishes,
      Ronin Kannushi.

Besides the fact that there is nothing in any of the proposed bills about death panels or euthanasia President Obama did not draft any of these bills. That's not the job of the President. It's the job of Congress.
