Could it be that the reason all of these neo-cons are afraid of a "death panel" is that this supposed panel would look to kill off those who contribute nothing to society and essentially making them the first to go? Hmmm...maybe wishes do come true!

But when watching what CNN did here it makes people still have questions not answers, huh? Dr. Gupta stated that the 'death panel' words (as Republicans have stated) are "NOT" contained in the HealthCare Reform Bill ANYWHERE, but then the next thing one see are the words ...'end-of-life'.... that are contained in the HealthCare Reform Bill. Seniors would think "ah, ha" Democrats do have 'death panels' contained in the Bill like the Republicans have been saying. See look right there on CNN they just showed it. LOL

Democrats should come out and do what Republicans are doing on this thing: "NO ONE WILL MESS WITH MY GRANDPARENTS - PERIOD"!!! And then "quickly" push back on how Republicans created this 'death panel' debate to "DISTRACT" from them (Republicans) "NOT" having a "SOLID" Plan for HealthCare Reform. These Republicans got game, and Democrats "NEED" to stop being got and show they got game too. Hmmm. LOL

I think what they need to say is that Americans were paying for any requested end-of-life counseling from their own pockets and now Medicare will cover those expenses.

loonz that's exactly correct. I'm a nurse and in the hospital as well as a nursing educator. We, the social workers and the physicians council patient on End of Life (advanced Directive, Living Will-same thing)issues all the time. It's important for every adult think about and specify AND communicate this to family their wishes on what they want at end of life. For 20 years the US Government has encouraged us to do so!... In fact, when a patient (any age) is admitted that's the first question asked by every single hospital in the US...do you have an advanced directive? If not, would you like information? Dr's, nurses and hospitals are extremely concerned about making sure a patient has had an opportunity to make decisions because it is the ethical thing to do. and if a patient has an AdDir, it better be on the chart, in the records and followed precisely.... In other words, if the patient or family have made decisions we had better follow them OR we are not practising ethically, plus we can be sued! If a patient has No AdDir directive then every attempt at resusitation and cure is made. I am simply appalledand very angry at the right wings attempt to make this into a death panel or attempting to put fear into people that the government want to kill them. That's a smack in nurses" and Dr's in the face. How can people think we would possibly be willing to play a apart in that?
