Oh sure. A think tank that is owned by companies that overprice their insurance premiums (agreed to by Hatch at the end of the clip) and are known to STILL try to weasel out of patient claims is "highly respected."

I was waiting for someone to shoot down Hatch on that Lewin Group BS. I wish Tapper had made more of an issue of it, though.

It would be nice if the GOP would get their story straight. First the inefficient government would create an overbudget disaster. Now it will be too efficient and undercut the private sector. I never had much respect for my Senator, Mr. Hatch, and lost what was left in his partisan vote against Santomayor. He is so owned by special interests.

Significant jury awards in malpractice suits are a very efficient method of increasing premiums for medical insurance.

Let's stop that myth right now that malpractice awards are a determinant for premiums. When Missouri enacted tort reform in medical practice cases, it resulted in ZERO, yeah, that's right ZERO benefit on premiums. Furthermore a Harvard study showed that only 1 in 6 people who are eligible to file medical malpractice cases do, and in trial some 85 percent of them are defendant verdicts. To call it a myth is probably not harsh enough. It's a lie. You always dog medical malpractice lawyers until you need one. It is the same with all lawyers. You hate em till you need em.

The Lewin Group...."respected" by all the greedy GOP teabaggers who put their corporate buddies profits over the health and well being of the US citizens also know as human beings. Rethugs only care about humans if their unborn or give them a LOT of dollars.

Had to laugh at one of the headlines on Politico. "Good news could spell trouble for GOP".

This is what Republikkkans have been reduced to. Doing nothing, saying no, and hoping America fails for political gain!

What the hell happened to Tapper?
I seem to recall a time when he had a brain.

I can tell you what happened to Tapper: Ambition. Reporters now are worried more about access than actually reporting news. They are far too buddy-buddy with the people they cover. The Washington Press Corps is in bed with politicians. I lost all respect for Tapper when he e-mailed Governor Sanford's office, trying to get an exclusive interview and implying he would handle him softly. And calling NBC "slimy." He should know about slimy. Of course these things have a way of getting out, and Tapper retreated calling his actions "busted" . But Disney controlled ABC, instead of firing the dude, gives him a fill in job for Stephanopoulous. Tapper has always been quite a bit right of center. There's very few aggressive journalists anymore. They all want to be media stars and to do that, they think they have to get in bed with the people they cover.

And Tapper agreed with Sen. Hatch that the Lewin Group is a great, respected, fine group. Jake did "NOT" want to get in that much trouble with the Republicans. LOL

Btw, ALL of the things that Sen. Hatch "quoted" from Lewin Group will "NOT" be believed by Democrats and Independents because of Lewin Group's "BIAS" due to their relationship with United Healthcare Group. But, at least Sen. Hatch kept his Republican Voters happy by quoting "bias" information from Lewin Group on a national Sunday morning show. LOL

Is that the same scientific study sponsored by the cigarette industry that said cigarettes were not addictive nor did they cause any health problems?
