When will reich-wingers stop with the talking point that Democrats/liberals hate the military?

        God, what an idiot.

Here's a tip, Rethcen---actually listening to what your guest is saying will help you avoid looking like a moron. I know, I know, it hurts your head to listen to views that don't match your talking points, but not everyone is a teabagger.

I see a pattern of different Fox hosts setting up questions for their guest experts and panels and expecting the response to be anti-Obama.

They seemed surprised when the guests disagree with them. This probably explains why all of the Fox "on air talent" (excuse me, I think I'm going to be sick) appear on each others shows to pad the discussion and see that it pushes the right wing talking points of the day.

The only people that Fox is able to get to "perform" to their expectations are those who've made an impressive debut at a town hall meeting.

We know Gretchen. There is no way a democrat could represent, and or believe in our military, or pay attention to them.

I wish these airheads would get their talking points right.

How is Obama supposed to become a socialist/commie/fascist dictator WITHOUT the military? I mean, come on, he's going to need a strong military force when he puts everyone who disagrees with him in FEMA camps.

Come on, haven't you been listening to Becky...ACORN is going to usurp the military and help enact Obama's socialist, communist, Marxist, fascist, dictator-like plans.

It seems to me that the Bush Administration had less concern for the military than the Obama Administration, after all, which administration sent troops into battle without adequate armor on their vehicles? Which administration drastically increased the amount of soldiers deployed, the length of times deployed, and instituted stop-loss programs to keep service members in even after their terms of service had expired? And none of the Iraq war was budgeted for, either. And I don't really remember much coming from the Bush Administration about improving life for the service members or their families, indeed, I did hear about the Secretary of Defense (Rumsfeld) claiming he didn't want to run schools or grocery stores, and he was looking to divest the DoD of such functions. Now, in the U.S., service members can send their children to local schools, or shop at the nearest Safeway, but overseas, sending your child to a local school is not a cheap or easy thing to do, and the markets are very different with unfamiliar local offerings and high prices on meat and American made products. I knew someone who paid about $7 for a pound of bacon on the blackmarket, and Lucky Charms were also $7 at the fancy department store's gormet grocery section. I once saw a woman pay $250 for a single, emdium-sized bag of groceries in Tokyo. Now, imagine how a service member would make do under such conditions. Well, you could say the family could stay in the states but many tours of duty overseas are 2-3 years. That isn't good for a family. Someone does need to look out for military families, a good role for the First Lady.

Good post. Indeed, support of "the military" means supporting the soldiers and families, not the military contractors and politicians that want more bases and weapon systems in their district.

        Excellent post.

For all their howling about how they take care of the troops, the Republicans have consistently showed that THEY don't care about our troops. They voted down increasing veteran's benefits. They pay their contractors FAR better than they do our toops. Rumsfeld's attitude is a case in point--he either didn't know or didn't care that his attitude would make life harder for the troops. Republicans in general are happy to send OTHER PEOPLE'S children into harm's way, but they don't go themselves. They are happy to scream about the troops, but when it comes down to it, they don't care about them. They care about profits and power.

Worse yet, without adequate armor on their bodies as well.

        Amen, epikkik.

Wasn't it Donald Rumsfeld who said, "you go to war with the army you've got, not the one you want" ?

It's clear from that screen capture where Gretchen would like to direct attention, and it's not to the military. But this is what Fox must do to keep its short-attention-span viewers down on the farm, so to speak.

Well this Fox News plan has come crashing down. I think it all started on Friday with Hannity. This was supposed to be the stage were they make it a week long discussion. They are starting to think they are on a roll. I hope there can be some recovery from all the other lies they have been pushing for the past week.

I claim that Gretchen lacks any attention whatsoever aside from attention to her makeup. You can hear her brain rolling around in her head when she nods.

Fox news hosts love to fly the flag of patriotism and the military yet none of them have ever served. Even cowardly hannity slithered away from his tough guy "i'll be waterboarded" statement. And the clueless Gretchen Carlson and her two am stooges are so clueless, they probably think that worn out yellow ribbon on the back of their cars entitles them to veterans care. pathetic posers.

So it appears this would be an instance where Fox News was fair and balanced!

Yes, but on a brighter note, Murdoch himself has taken notice, and promised it will -never- happen again! That whole fair and balanced thing was just some crazy marketing gimmick in the first place.

They keep saying it because they want the weak minded to believe it. The truth is I've never EVER heard anyone I know say against our brave men and women of the military.

As I've said before, the military is made up of our sons and daughters, our spouses and we want them as safe as possible. What many of us actaully do HATE is the chicken-hawk old men that have been miss-using our military to do their biding. Military force should be the last resort not something you use to to make you and your friends richer.

Has anyone here ever heard heard a family member or a friend of yours say "I hate our military"?

Heres the thing. the right wing fantatics who have politicized and "religionized" the military hate us troops if they are democrats or atheists.

      then they turn on you.

Here's a fun fact: Gen Patraeus is a democrat. too funny.
