No, we alredy HAD the Reichstag fire-like incident, followed by totalitarian takeover (almost). We call it "9/11"

May I remind you that ginning up crises is the specialty of conservative groups, which is what the Nazis were! Liberals stress individual freedom and often fight to expand it at the expense of society (the so-called giving-too-much-to-the-criminals) syndrome of liberal guilt. I admit that I was very nervous about the Bush/Cheney Administration refusing to leave, but when the economy crashed, I was relieved. They passed off governance like a hot potato.

This is exactly what I was hearing about the Bush/Cheney Administration. I still think if Cheney had been younger and healthier it would have happened. I'm sure some day we will read how he was pushing for declaring Marshal Law.

Well, he did push for troops to march down the streets of Buffalo to arrest those so-called terrorists.

Sounds kinda like martial law to me.

He was pretty close. He wanted to use the US Army to perform police work for suspected Terrorists in Buffalo, NY, never mind Posse Comitatis.

Whenever "W" is the voice of reason, you know that Cheney was really off the deep end.

            You can suspend Posse Comitatis.

Doesn't make it right, but it can be suspended.

Thank you for that very imformative link. I have been posting (on another forum) about the dangers of John Yoo and David Addington for months before this article came out and before the incident was declassified. I guess I was right. I have also read that Dick Cheney really did become a little unhinged on September 11th. There are reports that say his whole outlook changed because he got scared. I don't think I would have liked him before (Nixon, Unitary Executive theory), but he really lost it after the attack.

And the Reichstag fire will have been set by the GOP and Weiner.

It's highly unlikely that Marshall Law will be declared Mr. Weiner.

Don't you see what this sad excuse for a human is doing? He's getting ahead of the inevitable when a drooler finally goes beyond screaming.

He's already got the excuse ready---It wasn't me or my fellow haters that caused this... the shooter (or whatever form this violence takes) was a liberal dupe.

Thank you, Michael Savage. I knew that the teabagger screaming at the town halls was reminding me of something in German history, but I couldn't remember exactly what it was.

Savage: "[L]ikelihood is very high" that "martial law will be declared" after "equivalent of the Reichstag fire" occurs

Likelihood is very high that screaming wild monkeys will fly out of my posterior.

And there's about as much chance of the latter happening as the former . . .

Funny, but weren't some conspiracists making the same prediction after 9/11?

As I recall, the GOP Professional Liars referred to such predictions as "Un-American".

Yup, I clearly recall hearing talk radio setting up that strawman and then loudly denouncing it.

Weiner has some sort of wingnut Magic Eight Ball. He just sits in his bunker all day asking insane questions, reading the replies of "likelihood very high", "All signs point to 'yes'", and "Ask again later".

for all you people out there who believe Obama is trying to bring martial law to this country you do not have to go back very far in our history to see who wants to bring martial law to this nation take a unbiased look at the cover-up of 911. We as a nation were criminally attacked and the perpatrators still have not been brought to justice. The belief that a madman a stones throw out of the stoneagecould plan such a sophisticated attack is ludicrous. My belief is americans are either to ignorant or to scared to force our politicians to invastigate the truth about 911 to me it looks like some one out there tried to overthrow our government and institute martial law and if we continue to let them go unprosecuted I have no doubt they will attempt it again. What will it take to wake up the American public to the truth? Because this attempt failed the next time it won't be passenger planes they use unless they use them to take out a nuclear power plant I believe the next time they attempt it they will use a dirty bomb or one of our own nuclear warheads. And as usual for this country we won't react until it is to late.
