I think we should just declare Dick Morris brain dead, and move on.

Republicans are desperately trying to fight this off. Why? Because they know that the party that achieves true health care reform will win the long race. Once Americans have their "public option" it will NEVER go back to the way it was, and opponents of health care reform will have a VERY difficult time getting elected into office.

This is their greatest fear. Conservatives must become more liberal in order to survive in future political races. They already have when it comes to our current Social Services like Medicare/Medicaid. If one of them campaigns openly against it, they will find themselves out on a very long limb with no one there to catch them when they fall.

Spot on. You can say it much more simply, however:

Of course, under the Dick Morris plan, we can eliminate gynecologists, because women shouldn't have special doctors based just on their sex (unless they are former governors from Alaska) so that would be a huge savings. Based on his interpretation of language that doesn't even exist, and the certitude with which he sees the future, I'm guess he would be for doing away with any sort of mental health care as well.

Dick Morris has spent so much time with ladies of ill-repute that he didn't realize the moment he became one. Ladies, please accept my apologies, I know he gives you all a bad name.

MMFA should run Fox & Friends from beginning to end each day in order to capture all of their misinformation.

Does anyone know where I can get a Gretchen bobble head? It would be just like the real thing!

Whenever you hear a conservtive use the word "de facto", that's pretty much his admission that he's making an allegation that he can't find a shred of evidence to support. (And it also gives a good revelation of how they think and what they'd do if given the opportunity to manage this legislation.)

The citizens of this country collectively don't deserve health care. If that was ever in doubt, we've since cast that concept in bronze, with our stupidity, ignorance, and willingness to accept the garbage that these people are spreading. The kind of lies and misinformation that has been given equal footing with reality by the media during this whole health-care debate continues unabated because morality and responsibility have ceded control to unfettered capitalism and greed. That this campaign of lies continues without absolute ridicule by the masses is indicative that representative democracy is a social organism that does not deserve to survive. Because rather than organize society from a foundation of knowledge, experience, and forethought, it represents the will of an intellectual lazy, greedy, willfully ignorant, and bigoted populace.

In short, to the world: How do you like our country? We made it ourselves!

        Thumbs up, Neon.
You sound as frustrated as I am with the incredible nonsense that the media laughingly calls a debate.

What kills me is how the Democrats have majorities in both houses and the presidency to boot and yet they're acting like it's an even split or worse that the Republicans are still in power.

This would never happen in a parliamentary system. The party with the majority rules the day. Why? Because party discipline is strictly enforced on all crucial votes. Vote against your own party and you're toast the next time your party picks a candidate.

But I'm not advocating a parliamentary just that the Democrats start cracking the whip on its members. What's the point in having a majority if you;re not willing or scared to use it?

I couldn't agree more Neon...citizens have let the media define this so called debate.Conservative media(Talk Radio /Fox news ) worked with the astroturf funders of opposition to just attack reform and then defend misinformation lies, distortions etc..even when debunked by other media or non partisan fact check orgs.etc..The rest of the media has just covered the political battle and inadvertently(or maybe not) given some credence to the bad information by not debunking it early. Why the hypocrisy of the right is so off limits by the so called mainstream media is beyond me.I guess that's why we ended up inan unecessary war.Too many worried that their patriotism will be questioned if in disagreement with the right on anything.Fox News blasted all criticism of George Bush as unpatriotic during a war and denigrated anti war protesters as unamerican.Almost no mention of that by anyone!!! Yet Nacy Pelosi's words get distorted by FOX and others and they are not called out on it!!!Last I looked its peacful assembly and protest that is covered in free speech and 2nd ammendment

This is excellent then! This shows actual accountability and assessment from the beginning of a narrative proposal. This is the way all new referendums and proposals should be led and I am glad to see the attention that is set into the formulation of the policy and language. This only means that before it is launched, it will be scrutinized so that there is a successful, less waist, launch when the program is installed. HOORAY!

The Obama Administration is in chaos. The Democrat Party is in chaos. President Obama is flip-flopping, trying new talking points almost on a daily basis, Gibbs is talking out of both sides of his mouth, and the Dems are mad on both sides. The Independent voters are already sorry they voted for Obama. The GOP is getting stronger. President Obama has barely a 50% approval. 2010 will see sweeping change in the Legislature across the country.

The people have stood up and spoken.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: How can these people foresee death panels as the logical conclusion of the living will provision in the House bill but they could foresee any potential abuses arising from a warrantless wiretap program with zero oversight?
