          Great rebuttle!

And typical. Someone makes a disparaging comment about someone who makes his living in front of the camera and you bring up someone who makes hi living behind the camera.

Dennis Miller isn't even big enough of a star to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol. And Dancing With The Stars would take Tom DeLay over him any day.

But please keep us informed about how many people show up at your performance at the livestock show in Prairie, Texas, on August 22. Nothing like playing the big room...

"Sort of like Frederich Neitzsche meets Liberace." Beautiful skewer of one of the Left's most putrid examples of inane and arrogant leadership. BF make Nancy-the-Liar Pelosi look good. What a disgusting example of human filth.
His 'boy-toy' wasn't running a gay prostitution ring out of BF's basement, and getting parking tickets fixed for his 'Johns.' (Or would you call those 'Janes?') It wasn't a "ring," it was a brothel.

when Bush started warning about the runaway Fannie & Freddie
          fiasco,

This Administration will constantly strive to promote an ownership society in America. We want more people owning their own home. It is in our national interest that more people own their own home. After all, if you own your own home, you have a vital stake in the future of our country.”
          - President George W. Bush, December 16, 2003

          “The Accomplishments

          Increasing Homeownership

          * The US homeownership rate reached a record 69.2 percent in the second quarter of 2004. The number of homeowners in the United States reached 73.4 million, the most ever. And for the first time, the majority of minority Americans own their own homes.

          * The President set a goal to increase the number of minority homeowners by 5.5 million families by the end of the decade. Through his homeownership challenge, the President called on the private sector to help in this effort. More than two dozen companies and organizations have made commitments to increase minority homeownership - including pledges to provide more than $1.1 trillion in mortgage purchases for minority homebuyers this decade.

          * President Bush signed the $200 million-per-year American Dream Downpayment Act which will help approximately 40,000 families each year with their downpayment and closing costs.

          * The Administration proposed the Zero-Downpayment Initiative to allow the Federal Housing Administration to insure mortgages for first-time homebuyers without a downpayment. Projections indicate this could generate over 150,000 new homeowners in the first year alone.

          * President Bush proposed a new Single Family Affordable Housing Tax Credit to increase the supply of affordable homes.

          * The President has proposed to more than double funding for the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP), where government and non-profit organizations work closely together to increase homeownership opportunities.

          * The President proposed $2.7 billion in USDA home loan guarantees to support rural homeownership and $1.1 billion in direct loans for low-income borrowers unable to secure a mortgage through a conventional lender. These loans are expected to provide 42,800 homeownership opportunities to rural families across America.”

The difference between repubs and dims on this issue id that the repubs wanted to increase home ownership in a fiscally responsible way. The dims just wanted it done, they didn't care how. Now we are all paying for it.

Maybe MMFA should recheck their info.

A 1990 investigation by the House Ethics Committee was prompted by Steve Gobie, a male hustler Frank befriended and housed, who attempted to profit on his allegations that Frank knew he was using the home to see clients. Frank confirmed that he had once paid Gobie for sex, hired him with personal funds as an aide and wrote letters on congressional stationery on his behalf to Virginia probation officials, but Frank said he fired Gobie when he learned that prostitution clients were visiting his apartment.[17] "Two years [after Frank fired Gobie], Gobie tried unsuccessfully to sell his story to the Washington Post. He then gave the story to the Washington Times for nothing, in hopes of getting a book contract for the male version of Mayflower Madam."[18] After the investigation, the Committee found no evidence that Frank had known of or been involved in the alleged illegal activity and dismissed all of Gobie's more scandalous claims; they recommended a reprimand for Frank using his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie's parking tickets.[19]

That's what happens to pass for fact, huh?

Even that paragraph is a long, tenuous stretch in the direction of "running a prostitution ring" in his apartment.

I guess the official repremand was also factually incorrect? You are obviously a blind partisan, as Frank admitted most of the allegations. He is an admitted criminal. Case closed.

But of course he is a lib, so he gets a pass.

No one was disputing the parking tickets. And there is absolutely no evidence, especially in what you just posted (from which I just copied and pasted) that Barney Frank was involved in the prostitution ring.

Solicitation of prostitution is a crime, Frank did admit to being a john. He also did use his influence as a congressman to intercede for the prostitute with his probation officials. And as you mentioned , the tickets.

So as I said, he is an admitted criminal. I never claimed he was part of the prostitution ring, but who knows.

And you believe everything a homosexual prostitute hustler, whose "more scandalous" claims were dismissed by the House Ethics Committee, says? Just asking...?

BTW, what I recall reading at the time was that it was ultimately determined that Gobie was living in Frank's basement and using the telephone there to set up liasons at other locations. Not very complimentary of Frank's judgment but hardly the more salacious story Gobie was trying to sell.

Well, it appeals to the "homosexuals are depraved perverts" view that many find it convenient to hold. As far as I've seen, Frank gets attacked more for his sexuality and allegations related to it than his actual policy.

Getting back to the 21st century...

I want to know who Gannon/Guckert was visiting in the White House!!!!! You do remember that he was allowed into the press room WITHOUT normal credentials/background check. Who allowed THAT to happen.

My first guess is he was visiting Mehlman. Then maybe Rove or Gillespie.

Dennis Miller talks about how people on both sides need to stop showing up with Hitler signs...

I'd applaud if only he had the courage to mention that Fox favorite Glenn Beck is ground zero for that particular meme.

Miller accusing anybody, as he accuses Frank, of "needing to feel intellectually superior" is a prime example of the pot calling the kettle black.

NOTcrazy was saying that Miller's joke was weak and pathetic. NOTcrazy did not appear offended at it.

As for Obama's joke about the special olympics, it was a bad joke but he immediately apologized for it (not using one of those "if I offended anyone" types), nor do I see any evidence that he has prejudice for handicapped people. I do not believe Obama was trying to make fun of anyone with that joke either.

why would i be offended by that joke? as tman pointed out, what i meant was that the joke was stupid... as many of miller's are. he is just a bad comedian... plain and simple.

as for obama's joke about the special olympics, not only did he apologize for it way before anybody even realized he said it, but his intention was never to actually offend handicap people. if anything, he was making fun of himself because he bowls so badly. and again, that was something that he apologized for almost immediately.

by the way, speaking of disrespectful jokes by miller... would you prefer this one? how about this? and this one? obviously, he has an obsession with cheap shotting the speaker of the house.

furthermore, the difference between obama's joke and miller's joke is that obama was targeting a general group, whereas miller chooses to attack specific people, namely liberals. why doesnt he go after conservatives, too? maybe because he is on oreilly's show, and he would throw a fit if he committed such a sin. can you imagine if miller made similar jokes as he does with pelosi, but targeting sarah palin? oreilly would go crazy (as he has before about jokes towards palin) because she is a woman and shouldnt be attacked, right? oh, but pelosi being a woman is fair territory? hypocrisy much?
