OT a bit, but I was watching MSNBC (Rachel Maddow) and they quoted Grassley, one of a 'gang of six' I believe, as saying he thought there should be at least 80 votes for the health coverage legislation. Not 51, like the constitution says. Not even 60, to break the filibuster. 80 votes! You know, Senator Grassley, it only takes 75 votes to amend the Constitution!

I reported that one earlier today. A total of three republicans are now on record calling for that. Makes you wonder if they are trying to change the rules because they are losing...

So when they were in charge they wanted (or at least threatened) to change the rules to make it harder for the minority caucus to filibuster. But now that they're the minority they want 80% aproval to pass a bill? Give me a break. If they ever regain control of the Senate they'll forget about that PDQ and probably suggest that minority party members only equal 3/5 of a Senator each so they can pass a bill with 40 votes.

*sighs* Michael Steele does what he can to keep constituents, not educate or inform them.

these two are LITERALLY connected at the hip... every time steele is on the show, its like a total love-fest. segments like this are just filled with repeating far-right talking points followed by disgusting butt-hugging. *hurl*

it pales in comparison to the ridiculous claims from the right about msnbc (or even cnn) supposedly being in love with president obama. the only difference here is they dont have their hero george bush to complete the threesome.

(i apologize for any reference(s) that might seem derogatory... that is not my intention.)
